"Little brother, this is your dormitory. Did you remember everything I just told you?" Ziyun handed the package to Moransiu, asking once again with seriousness.
Along the way, she pointed out the location of the dormitory, classrooms, and cafeteria to Moransiu one by one, fearing that he might forget. If Moransiu hadn't stopped her, she might have even drawn a map.
"Ziyun sister, I remembered everything," Moransiu quickly replied.
He was afraid that if he hesitated or answered slowly, Ziyun would take him back and go over everything again. It took them two hours to walk from the academy's entrance to the dormitory. Along the way, they passed by places like the library, classrooms, cafeteria, bamboo forest, Liuli Mountain, Qing Shui Residence, and Bi Bo Lake.
Qing Shui Residence was where the magic teachers lived, and the current dean of Mulan Academy also resided there.
"Alright, that's good. Since that's the case, you should rest today, and you'll start classes tomorrow," Ziyun instructed.
"Are all women like this, so nagging?" Moransiu couldn't help but think helplessly in his little head. He didn't dare say it out loud, though, or Ziyun would definitely persist. She didn't have the aura of a mother yet.
"Ziyun sister, you should go back first," Moransiu pleaded as he stood outside the dormitory room.
"Okay, I'll come to see you when I have time, Moransiu, my cute little brother," Ziyun said with a smile before turning and leaving.
Moransiu entered his room with his package. This area was the dormitory zone for students, ranging from first-year to sixth-year students.
There was already someone in the room.
"Hi, buddy, nice to meet you."
The person, upon seeing Moransiu, smoothly went in for a hug, quite intimately.
Moransiu glanced at the person. He had thick, black eyebrows, thick lips, lively eyes, and larger nostrils compared to others. He seemed warm and friendly.
"Hello!" Moransiu said calmly upon noticing one of the beds was unoccupied, so he placed his package on it.
Daily necessities were all provided by the academy, so life was quite simple. Moransiu's package only contained two sets of clothes and the bag of gold coins. Moransiu didn't know about the gold coins; he hadn't seen them when Morde was packing them. He didn't think he needed money since the academy provided food and shelter.
"I'm Muk, and you?" Muk was indeed very friendly.
"I'm Moransiu," Moransiu replied plainly.
An eight-year-old child who had just arrived in a strange place wouldn't immediately get excited. Leaving family and familiar surroundings would naturally bring about a faint sense of loss. Fortunately, Moransiu wasn't an ordinary child, or else he might have actually cried.
"What? You're Moransiu? I'm honored!" Muk's eyes widened, and he went in for another hug.
Moransiu widened his eyes and quickly lay down on the bed to avoid it; this guy was strong. Also, he seemed a few years older than Moransiu. If Moransiu hadn't trained his body since childhood, that hug just now would have been quite overwhelming.
"Do you know me?" Moransiu asked.
"Not before, but I've heard of you. When I came back with Instructor Lila yesterday, she was so excited when she mentioned you. She said you're a genius. I didn't expect us to meet so soon," Muk said without feeling embarrassed about Moransiu avoiding his hug. On the contrary, he seemed quite happy.
"I see," Moransiu nodded.
"Instructor Lila said your perception is seven stars and your mental power is six stars. Is that true?" Muk suddenly shifted the topic to Moransiu's potential.
It was understandable; children their age would naturally be curious if they found out there was a genius among them.
"Well, it seems so," Moransiu replied.
He was already feeling a bit numb; he wished he hadn't stood out so much at the Mage Guild.
"That's great! With you around, I also have a goal to strive for. Moransiu, have you learned any magic? I heard you came from the mountains; that's quite impressive," Muk's mouth couldn't stop.
"Yes, I've learned some," Moransiu recalled the spells he had seen in the book "Fundamentals of Magic": Fireball, Ice Spike, Water Shield. He knew their incantations; they were written in that book.
"Oh, then how many have you learned? Even the lowest-grade Magic Stones cost hundreds of gold coins. My father used his connections to buy me a few low-grade Magic Stones from the Mage Guild. But with my current magic level, I can't even cast a Fireball properly," Muk said humbly, but there was a hint of pride in his tone.
After all, being able to cast a Fireball as an apprentice mage was already impressive. As a standard for assessing mage levels, being able to cast magic, even just a Fireball, would earn one a first-level mage medal and a mage robe at the Mage Guild.
"Magic Stones?" Moransiu repeated in surprise.
"Yes, mages learn magic spells using Magic Stones. Don't tell me you haven't learned any magic spells yet?" Muk was astonished.
Could a hunter from the mountains buy Magic Stones through connections?
"I've learned some, but I don't know what Magic Stones are," Moransiu stated confidently.
He really didn't know what Magic Stones were, but he had learned magic. He could cast Fireball, Ice Spike, and Water Shield. He knew their incantations; they were written in the book "Fundamentals of Magic."
"Haha, brother, I know what you're saying. You must be talking about being able to absorb elemental energy to form your own magical power, right? That's the most basic requirement for a mage. But real magic is what you release, like this!" Muk cast a Fireball, but it only lasted for about a second.
"Like this?" Moransiu widened his eyes in amazement.
"Yes, like this. This is magic," Muk said with a smile.
"Hmm?" *Poof*
A Fireball appeared, instantly capturing Muk's attention. He noticed that Moransiu was much faster at chanting the incantation than him.
"Is this what you're talking about?" Moransiu looked at Muk's ever-changing face carefully.
And Muk, at this moment, looked as if someone had opened his eyes and mouth with their hands.
"His Fireball? Why hasn't it disappeared yet? Damn, what's going on?" Muk's saliva finally flowed out.
Moransiu extinguished the Fireball and then cast a Water Shield.
The faint blue Water Shield shimmered, surrounding Moransiu in a semicircle.
"Brother, you lied to me!" Muk suddenly cried out in distress.
"Lied to you?" Moransiu didn't understand.
"Yeah, you even learned Water Shield. You said you didn't know what Magic Stones are. Magic Stones are these." Muk took out a small piece of transparent stone from his luggage.
"My father bought these magic spells
for me from the Mage Guild. After I used them, the Magic Stones didn't disappear. Although this Magic Stone can't be used anymore, it's worth commemorating." Muk took out the Magic Stone and said.
Only now did Moransiu notice that Muk's luggage seemed to take up half the room. Did this kid bring his whole house here?
But Moransiu had never seen this kind of stone before. Magic Stones were expensive; he couldn't afford them. A Magic Stone that stored Fireball spells would cost hundreds of gold coins, and one that stored Water Shield spells would cost thousands. To cast Water Shield, one needed to be at least a third-level mage.
"I really haven't seen these stones before," Moransiu said earnestly.
"Big brother, if you haven't seen these Magic Stones, how did you learn magic spells?" Muk couldn't understand. Without Magic Stones, how could one learn magic spells? On the Saint Spirit Continent, magic spells were stored in Magic Stones. Mages absorbed Magic Stones, and as long as they had enough magic power, they could use those magic spells.
