Chereads / Become a Legendary Mage / Chapter 18 - Fiancée

Chapter 18 - Fiancée

Four people were seated at a table near the stairs. The "Blue Rose" restaurant had three floors, with the first two being ordinary dining halls and the third floor consisting of elegant private rooms reserved for influential nobles in Sofi City, such as the lord and other important officials.

After sitting down, Moransiu began to look at the names of the dishes on the menu, many of which he had never heard of before, let alone tasted.

"Maybe you should choose. I'm not very familiar with this," Moransiu said, handing the menu to Maya seated to his right.

Maya took the menu and smiled lightly. "Since it's Muk's birthday, do we need a cake?" Ziyun interlaced her fingers on the table. Her hair was truly beautiful.

"Hehe, there's no need for a cake. I'm happy to celebrate with you all. Although I'm just basking in the limelight of my best friend Moransiu. Moransiu, can I bask in your light often in the future?" Muk asked Moransiu seriously.

Moransiu's expression amused Muk. Muk was always like this. "I think... that's no problem, since we're friends," Moransiu replied casually.

Compared to most eight or nine-year-old children, Moransiu was much more mature and composed. His demeanor was not like that of a child from the mountains; he even had more elegance than most noble children. This kind of demeanor was sometimes innate.

Anyway, Moransiu definitely didn't seem like a child from a hunter's family.

As for demeanor, although it was intangible, it indeed existed. Sometimes demeanor could be cultivated slowly through nurture, while some people were born with a noble demeanor.

Ziyun sensed this demeanor when she first saw Moransiu, but she still hadn't figured out why she felt that Moransiu seemed different from others.

"Great, haha. By the way, how powerful do you think Dean Slode's magic is?" Muk suddenly changed the subject. Dean Slode was a ninth-level mage, one of the few ninth-level mages in the kingdom.

Moransiu shook his head. He wasn't sure about advanced magic; he only knew a little from books.

Ziyun said, "I don't know about Dean Slode's magic, but I've seen an archmage cast an advanced fire magic once. That magic could almost burn down this 'Blue Rose' in an instant."

"No way, that's terrifying. Was it a sorcerer?" Muk asked in astonishment.

Moransiu was also shocked. The power of mages was indeed immense. Just imagine, if an advanced magic targeted a person, what would happen?

"No, he's just a seventh-level mage. He's a friend of my father, so I've seen him use magic," Ziyun said.

"Hey, I've made my choices. It's your turn," Maya circled a few dishes on the menu and then passed it to Ziyun on her right.

Ziyun glanced casually and quickly circled a few dishes. "Don't order too much, or it will be wasted," Ziyun said, holding the menu.

"It's okay, it's okay," Muk hurriedly said.

Finally, there was a chance to be attentive, so how could he let it go?

Muk also didn't order any dishes. The two female mages ordered eight dishes. Four people were enough.

Soon, the ordered dishes were served one after another. These dishes were beautifully presented, and the utensils were polished to reflect shadows. Moransiu looked at the plate in front of him, stood up, cut a piece of grilled meat from the largest plate on the table, and then offered it to Maya.

"Thank you, Moransiu!" Maya took the plate and smiled at Moransiu.

When Moransiu tried to offer the plate to Ziyun for the second time, Muk suddenly stood up.

"Moransiu, do you want to do all these elegant things? Keep that for yourself; I'll take care of Ziyun's portion," Muk scolded Moransiu.

"Hehe, alright," Moransiu chuckled.

"Hmm? Ziyun?" Suddenly a voice came from behind, a voice that didn't belong to any of the four people. The voice came from the stairs behind Moransiu.

Moransiu turned around and saw a noble teenager of sixteen or seventeen years old. He was wearing a gorgeous mage robe and was accompanied by four or five swordsmen as bodyguards. He seemed to be a prominent noble in Sofi City.

Ziyun glanced at the young man but didn't respond. She recognized the noble who spoke.

The young man walked down the stairs and came straight to the table where everyone was seated.

"Ziyun, it's really you. Today, I invited you to have dinner with me, but you didn't come. Instead, you're having dinner with a few insignificant children. What do you mean by this?" The young man said unkindly, his words containing ridicule towards Moransiu and Muk.

Moransiu noticed the expensive gemstone ring he was wearing.

"Othar, my affairs are none of your concern, right?" Ziyun spoke up, angry at Othar for insulting her friends.

"Heh, you're my fiancée. How can you say that your affairs are none of my concern? It's ridiculous." Othar looked at Muk with extreme disdain. Because among these people, Muk was slightly older. If anyone among them wanted to pursue Ziyun, it would most likely be Muk. Moransiu seemed too young, and Maya was a girl.

Muk was somewhat annoyed by Othar's gaze and his unreasonable words. But Muk didn't show it on his face; it was time to show grace. In front of many nobles, he had other plans.

"Excuse me, who are you?" Muk took over Othar's words and asked.

"I am Othar!" Othar looked arrogant, his eyes aloof.

In Sofi City, everyone knew Othar of the Oriman family. His father was the head of the Oriman family, and even the lord of the city had to defer to him.

The Oriman family was the first family in Sofi City, with tremendous power. They did business in many cities in the kingdom and had extremely close ties with several trading companies.

"Who is Othar?" Muk asked curiously again.

"Othar is me," Othar said, slightly puzzled. Could this kid have not heard of his name?

"You're Othar?" Muk suddenly realized.

"Yes, it's me. And who are you?" Othar thought for a moment. He should have some impression of anyone who could dine at the "Blue Rose," but after thinking for a while, he couldn't recall this person.

"Oh, I'm Muk, a first-year student at Mulan Academy," Muk replied honestly.

"Haha, a first-year student? Muk, you must be the oldest first-year student, right?" Othar laughed loudly. He thought Muk was one of those students who had been in the first year for a year or even several years.

The conversation between Othar and Muk had already attracted the attention of many nobles around them. Due to the fame of the Oriman family, many people knew Othar.

In fact, Muk was only twelve years old, but his mature appearance and tall stature made him seem older. Among the first-year students, Muk's age was only average; there were many students who were thirteen, fourteen, or fifteen years old.

"Of course not, the first-year students are not the oldest for me," Muk immediately defended himself, and he was extremely serious and earnest, as if he had been greatly wronged.

"Acting like a fool?" Othar muttered to himself. He didn't want to argue with this fool anymore. He was displeased to see Violet and others eating together. In the afternoon, he had invited Violet to have dinner with him, but she said she had something else to do. Now, it turned out that her excuse was to eat with someone else. The proud Othar was naturally very dissatisfied with Violet's attitude towards him.

"Hey, Mr. Othar. I'm not the fool you're talking about. Don't speak nonsense. Oh, by the way, what did you just say? That Violet is your fiancée?" Muk suddenly raised his voice, almost shouting to others' ears.

Moransiu wanted to laugh in his heart. What was this guy trying to do? Others might not know, but he knew that Muk's thoughts were definitely not as simple as his appearance suggested.
