That smirk!
It was that smirk that made Ayla's heart sink. Why her? Why couldn't she get rid of them?
She had thought that she was safe as long as she scored well as they wouldn't find their way to Imperial University according to their grades. Who knew money was way too terrifying an asset?
"Hi, I'm Aurelia, your new roommate. Nice to meet you." The name of the girl at the doorway was Aurelia. She had been the number one bully in Azure High School. She would always bully Ayla every day, at any given time, as long as the two met.
Sensing her silence, Aurelia shrugged and entered the room while dragging her suitcase.
Ayla felt her hopes dashed. Was she even going to survive for a semester in the school? She highly doubted that.
Fortunately for her that night, Aurelia didn't find fault with her. Maybe it was because she was tired from the journey and the process of admission? However, the trauma the bullies left on Ayla was enough to make her have insomnia. Of course, she would have it. Who wouldn't? She was sleeping in one room with her archenemy. Why would she let her guard down?
Aurelia looked at the girl who was pretending to be asleep and smirked. She had just seen her, but she was already getting cold feet? She wondered how Ayla would react if she saw Charlotte, her best friend the following day. She couldn't wait. As she thought of this, she took out her phone and texted Charlotte.
Aurelia just hated Ayla for no apparent reason. She didn't know if it was because Ayla was way too beautiful, more beautiful than her, or if it was because she was a bright student. Or was it the fact that wherever she went, she would be the centre of attraction? Either way, Aurelia hated her to the core. That was the reason why she had made sure to know the campus Ayla was going to get admitted to. She wanted to haunt her and make her life a living hell.
'Ayla, I hope you enjoy the ride.' Aurelia thought inwardly before dozing off.
The following day, Ayla woke up very early in the morning. She just wanted to stay as far away from Aurelia as possible. While in the bathroom, Ayla looked at herself in the mirror and sighed. The eye bugs were enough to tell that she hadn't slept a wink the night before. Was it ever going to get better? Ayla frowned in worry. She could already picture what was going to happen to her. Especially her life on campus. She wasn't sure if she would survive their blows this time? She was already weak and on the verge of a mental breakdown. She closed her eyes in pain. All she could picture was a bleak future. Was there a day she would feel happy and free? She laughed self depreciatingly. She doubted that would ever happen in this lifetime. After she wore her clothes, she picked up her keys and tiptoed out of the room. She didn't want to wake the sleeping lioness up. She was going to buy a new phone that day so she set off to the city.
The moment Charlotte arrived, she immediately hugged Aurelia, who was watching before scanning the entire room.
"Is that the bitch's bed?" Charlotte pointed at Ayla's bed and asked.
"Mm." Aurelia nodded. She knew what Charlotte wanted, and she supported her.
Immediately, Charlotte went ahead and removed the bedsheets and blankets on Ayla's bed before throwing them on the ground. She then took out her beddings and spread them on Ayla's bed. Aurelia watched all this in amusement. Anyone who was against Ayla was her friend. Actually, that's how the two became friends; Aurelia and Charlotte. They had a mutual enemy ; Ayla, so they decided to join forces so they could torment her better.
After taking a shower, Charlotte lay on the bed and continued scrolling on the internet. After taking deep breaths outside the door to calm herself down, Ayla pushed the door open and entered. She was stupefied by what she saw.
