Charlotte was the first one to spot Ayla, who appeared stupefied at the door.
"Hi nerd, we meet again." Charlotte smiled evilly as she greeted Ayla. Charlotte's voice was enough to send chills down Ayla's spine. Could things get any worse? Charlotte's presence in the room Ayla was staying in was enough to make her come to a terrifying conclusion. The three other bullies were probably on their way to Imperial University, too. They had always been in a group of five while bullying her. The day before, when she saw Aurelia, she thought only she had come to Imperial University. Who knew Charlotte would follow suit the following day?
After snapping out of her stupor, Ayla nodded at Charlotte and went forth to pick up her beddings on the ground. She intended to wash them. Fortunately, she had a few clean bedding. She would make do with those as she dried the others. Charlotte looked at her reaction and snorted.
"Oh, don't forget to wash our dirty clothes too." After instructing her, Charlotte continued scrolling on her phone. Aurelia didn't say anything as she was busy watching, but she also heard what Charlotte said. She was totally on Charlotte's side.
As Ayla washed in the bathroom, her tears freely streamed down her face. Why was fate so cruel to her? She had thought that her fate would change the moment she entered university. However, why did it seem as though fate was making a joke out of her? Why? These questions kept ringing in her mind as she did laundry in the bathroom. She truly did not understand where everything had gone wrong. Was it when she was born by a mother who had no rich family background? Or was it when she became a bright student and went to rich people's school on scholarship? Either way, it didn't make sense. Did being poor really dictate someone's fate?
As she looked at herself in the bathroom mirror, she sighed. The bright light in her eyes had long dimmed. She had no idea if the lustre would ever return to her eyes.
After she hung her clothes outside, the two bullies; who were still her roommates, made her go and buy them lunch from the cafeteria. She had no choice but to go. If she wanted to survive on campus, she had to do their bidding. Thinking of her coming hellish days, a bitterness formed in her mouth. She also felt a lump in her throat. Ayla felt like crying, but she couldn't. She had to hold back. She had to be there for herself. However, was it ever going to be well with her? She no longer held any hope for a better tomorrow, not with the people from her past haunting her.
The first week, the classes had not begun, so there had been no classes for the new students . The following week on Monday, classes resumed officially. Fortunately for Ayla, she had bought a phone, so it was easier for her to access information about her classes. She followed the directions on her phone until she found the lecture hall that her coursemates were in. They waited for a few minutes with her coursemates until the teacher came in. The moment he entered, everyone gasped except for her. However, the moment she took a look at him, she instantly understood why the others gasped the moment they saw him. He was tall, just like a male model, his shoulder length hair was tied into a pony tail, his sharp facial features, especially his jaw and high nose made him look so handsome that one couldn't get enough of him. However, what attracted Ayla the most was his green eyes. They were bright and shone with a strange light, which made him look so mysterious. Without a doubt, He was very handsome.
"Hi class, my name is Hayden Miller, and I'll be taking you through the basics of computing and information technology. " Hayden said as he scanned the entire class. Then, his gaze landed on her. She was rummaging through her bag. He didn't know what she was looking for. However, the moment he saw her face, he froze. Her again?
