Chapter 43 - Intensifying training

But he ignored it as wyvern regeneration was soon activated and began to suppress the pain.

Only then did he look outside the window and understand how much time he had spent training.

'About four hours again, even before reaching my limit. It seems like practicing all day takes its toll on my mind, even with wyvern regeneration healing most of the pain. Otherwise, I am confident that if I wasn't worried about burning myself out, I could have held out for five or even six hours.'

Even though he had not reached the limit his body could withstand, he had to stop because he needed to avoid Lilith suddenly coming to his lodging, and seeing him in a trembling state, although the time he stayed in the sea of consciousness was less than the time he stayed yesterday, the effect it had on his sea of consciousness still didn't change, since each time he used his mana sense it affected his sea of consciousness.

He added another thing of what to do to the list of his training, in order to quickly become stronger he needed to train even more than he showed on the outside.

'Since wyvern regeneration helps reduce the pain from training my sea of consciousness, I can be assured I just need to sleep properly to wake up like I did today, completely fine, and continue with my training as I did before.

'Although training all day is tiring, together with the freezing effect of constantly using the water in the sea of consciousness, but it's not like I haven't done something like this even become I became a monarch or even worse, I can say for a fact this is even a luxury if compared to all the training I did back then.

'What is a bit of pain and sweat compared with the system that I have?'

Reaffirming himself, Ainz laid on his bed completely exhausted both in body and mind, he stared at the ceiling for a while before closing his eyes to sleep. Just like he did before, in the morning Ainz could be seen sitting with legs crossed cultivating the wyvern king technique, and as soon as he got the notification message of him completing his daily quest he stood up.

After he was done the second thing he did was check his sea of consciousness, when he was sure everything was perfectly fine, he did a little exercise that made his limb feel a little sore but was soon healed by wyvern regeneration.

Picking his spear, he decided to train like he always did, like before he would call out the spear art in his mind, and then train till it was afternoon, and then read the eight gates of asura while munching on his food, and practiced with the magical rune in his hand during the midnight until four hours had passed, and then when wyvern regeneration automatically activates would he stop.

One thing he noticed about wyvern regeneration, was that it only activates when his body was reaching the absolute limit, otherwise, except if he chose to activate it by himself it would remain dormant.

Like this, he kept going until the time when Bruce told him arrived.

In the spacious underground room as before, Ainz and Bruce could be seen, one was sitting crossed legs, while the other was standing up, while Bruce was right in front of him, staring at Ainz.

Compared to the last time, it seemed like it was either Bruce wasn't interested in doing his exercise or had done it before he came, nevertheless, he was still in his sweaty pants and shirtless.

At this moment he was waiting for Bruce to say something, before saying what was on his mind.

"It seemed like you practiced really hard with the magical rune."

Bruce suddenly said with a bit of surprise in his voice, from his tone, Ainz could guess it seemed like he had noticed something, although he couldn't tell what exactly but he could tell it had something to do with mana sense, because ever since that day he felt his perception about things had changed, especially the more he trained his sea of consciousness.

One morning he had woken up to discover that his mana sense had increased by 0.1 point, although he had expected something like this, he was still surprised, this meant if he continued training the way he was doing mana sense would naturally increase on its own.

"I remember when I first started to train my mental energy and was given a magical rune, each time I started training in my sea of consciousness I would collapse even before reaching two hours, back then I was no more than the age of 16. I remember my former captain would call me a rare genius."

Ainz stared at Bruce speechless, although he had no idea what his master was rambling about, he still kept quiet, he could tell Bruce was bragging about his result from his younger days, when he was training his sea of consciousness.

This made him wonder what his reaction would be if he told him, he had been training his sea of consciousness for four hours every day, and that wasn't even his limit, but just him imposing a limit on himself?

A slight smirk appeared on his face as he thought that while looking at Bruce, shifting the focus of the conversation away from the hours of training, he decided to ask a question that was on his mind.

"Master, how long did it take you, to finally master the magical rune?"

Bruce smiled even more, and with a proud look on his expression.

"Kid, it took your master six years, but could have done it in five years if it wasn't for the former captain always telling me to not overdo it, this was the fastest anyone had mastered it in the history of the guards of the Kalamas household."
