William ended the call and then walked over to the two men, they were both seated in the living room.
Damien had his eyes fixed in the fire place as he gently tapped his finger on his thigh forming a rhythm. Dylan on the other hand was tense as he checked the time on the wall.
"We are going to be late" Dylan said as he got up from the couch and offered to leave.
"She needs to take this" William spoke as he brought out a tablet from his bag and then he handed it to Damien. "One daily, nothing more" William said as he closed his bag and prepared to leave.
"Thank you" Dylan spoke as he watched the man walk out the door.
"She can't take this unless she eats" Dylan said as he looked at the drug Damien was holding. Dylan looked at Damien, he was expecting something, he knew that this drug had something to do with Damien. Claustrophobia, Damien's mum also had the same illness back then.
"That's her problem" Damien said as he called Alfred and then he gave some orders to Alfred. "Make sure she takes breakfast before nine am and after breakfast give her this" Damien said as he gave the drugs to Alfred and then he head for the door.
"Tell Selena that we'll talk when I get back" Dylan said before he followed Damien and they both walked out of the room.
Alfred sighed as he watched them, he looked at the drugs, he remembered the old days when he would take this upstairs to the lady, unlike Selena, her's was kept a secret, the only people who knew about her illness was Alfred and Elder Parker.
Alfred wondered if history was just repeating itself, it was too much of a coincidence that Selena supposedly has the same sickness as Damien's late mother. Alfred sighed as he tried to clear his mind off such thought, it's been years since that tragic night, fifteen years had passed but Alfred still remembers everything like it was just yesterday.
Alfred didn't want to relive past moments so early in the morning, his eyes looked around the place and realized that not much had changed, paintings, pictures, they were all as it was back then. Master Damien never saw a reason to redecorate, one look and one could guess how old this house was.
Alfred looked at the huge painting that was covered with a blanket at the other end of the wall. The painting had been covered for years, after what happened that night, Alfred had covered the painting, he didn't open it, he thought it was better to not have the little boy remember those moments. Luckily Damien grew to respect his decision and so the painting remained covered.
Alfred kept the drugs in his pocket as he walked towards the large dining, he had witnessed what happened this morning. He saw how master Damien had refuse the lady from going out and he was aware that the lady had not eaten anything. Alfred was not a fan of Selena, he always thought the girl was trouble, after discovering that she lied and pretended to be Damien's wife. But Alfred knew that Damien cared about her, and so for that reason he also has to care about her.
..........
The car ride was silent, Dylan was too busy answering calls from his assistant and he had no time for chit chats. Damien had his gaze focussed outside the busy streets, he noticed something from afar and then his brows creased in annoyance.
"You called the press?" Damien asked when he saw the mob gathered in front of his office building, one glance and he could tell that they were paparazzi, he could see the camera's and microphones.
"I did not call the press, after the show you gave them the other day what were you expecting? You disappeared for days and now the press is pumped to have you back, they are all here to welcome their billionaire playboy, back from the dead" Dylan joked as he looked at the crowd.
The car came to a halt in front of the building and the crowd turned wild, they all came at them like a swamp of bees. Luckily they were still inside the car.
"Jeez, I didn't know that they missed you this much" Dylan joked as he chuckled lightly.
Damien's men arrived and they quickly came at the crowd, they gently pushed them aside creating a path for Damien to walk out.
The door was open and Damien took his time before stepping out, he had a neutral look on his face as his feet gently hit the ground, he reached his hand out to the button in his suit as he looked at the crowd.
"Mr Parker, you've been absent for weeks now, any explanation for that?" One of the reporters asked as she stretched her hand out with the mic wanting to get a reply but Damien's men had helped shield Damien.
"Mr Parker, you were seen with a lady The other day at the mall, what do you have to say?" Another question came in. But Damien didn't say a word to any of them, he just walked silently towards the entrance of the building.
"Mr Parker, you've been away from the city for years, why did you suddenly decide to come back?" Another question came in.
"Mr Parker"
"Mr Parker"
Damien still remained silent as he walked in, he didn't say a word to any of the reporters, even though he had the answers to all their questions, he still left them unanswered.
"I never liked the press" Dylan commented as he gently dust his suit.
"Good morning Mr Parker, Good morning boss" A feminine voice spoke as she walked towards both men with only one cup of coffee in her hand. " Sorry Mr Parker, I was not informed that you would be coming in today, I would have gotten something for you too" She apologized as she gave the coffee to Dylan.
Damien just gave a small nod before walking towards his private elevator.
"Any updates Julie?" Dylan asked as he sipped from his coffee. This was his usual routine his assistant Julie would bring him coffee every morning.
"Everyone is in the meeting room, waiting for you " Julie reported as she handed a file to him.
"Thank you" Dylan said as he glanced through the files while he waited for the elevator to come down.
"Let's go, you'll come with me to the meeting room" Dylan said to his assistant as he walked in the elevator.
"Okay boss" Julie said as she followed him inside the elevator, she had been to countless meetings with him before but this meeting was different, it was suppose to be just the board members, but since she was being invited, she couldn't turn it down.
