Chapter 3 - CHAPTER 2 part 2

It's lunchtime. After eating lunch(It's way better than what I can afford) I head over to the library. Finding the books is a piece of cake as the library is really good actually. This is after all the school that Saya and Kohta attend. Their parents are loaded. Lucky. No stop that. I'm the lucky one. Old habits.

Since it's this easy I'm not thinking of just stopping at one. I grab a gardening textbook. It won't be useful now but we'll get there.

Would the library be a good place to hide during the apocalypse? No one would think to go there at first and at least you'd be entertained as you await your death. Actually your chances might be relatively high since the library has a strict no noise policy. Heh.

Anyway now that I think about it, I'll not make contact with the main cast. I don't have enough time. I don't think I can make it. What I can do instead is to build some rapport with Saeko. She's the most powerful member in the team if you discount Kohta with a gun. I can count on her to welcome me with open arms after she recognises my strength today. And with that I'll have infiltrated the cast.

Leaving the library I go back to class and wait for school to be over. Strangely enough now that I have something to look forward to the classes just seem to drag on forever. I guess school is still school. I should get a loan or something from the bank. I'm eighteen I should be eligible but it might take a while to process. I need the money quickly. So I'll stick with the hacking method. Not too much, just enough to have me equipped with a starter kit. Can't have them distrusting me too much now can I?

Now that I think about it, I'm leaning towards not preparing for the apocalypse at all. I'm planning on sticking with the group for the greater part of the show.

Too many questions with no answers will drain morale quickly and decrease the overall trust we have. Trust between me and them they seemed to be getting along just fine in the show.

Eh fuck it, I'll wing it, the procrastinator in me is probably jumping for joy. Knowing that I won't be doing anything for just a little while longer. I'll hack some devices tonight. Money glitch works 2024. I'll live my three days as if they were the last(they are) borrow books to consume at the library. Get a bunch of painkillers and bandages. Find me kendo stick. Follow the main plot until further notice then see what happens then.

=after school=

Finally, school's out. Now for the clubroom. Mission objective Saeko acquisition. Ok you can do this just go up there introduce myself and ask for a spar. 'Hello my name is Atlas I've seen you around and I was won…' what is this a confession? 'Hello, fight me,' no too aggressive, 'pardon me m'lady', die. As I'm thinking of stupid things I find myself already in the clubroom. Saeko is already there, funny, I left immediately and she got here first. Was she already here? She's going tthrough some moves and doesn't seem to notice my presence. She's good and I know good. Man I love cheats

"can I help you with something," she starts out of the blue. I'm guessing I must have stared for too long.

"spar with me," I put it bluntly. Time is of the essence. Without waiting for her response I take out a sword from a nearby rack and take my position across from her. She is taken aback by my straightforwardness but quickly schools her features and puts on a light smile.

"while I admire your enthusiasm about the sword I don't think you should be jumping ahead in lessons so fast. Your overeagerness might be your undoing,"

"i appreciate your concern but I can handle myself, I wish to test myself with a swordsman of great skill such as yourself. I can only go so far with the basics. I need to learn proper technique through experience. Real life situation vary vastly from what is taught in books," I put up a stance. I think it's pretty solid. It should be. She eyes me closely before closing her eyes. She opens them a moment later. Is aura real? The air just changed around her.

"flattery will get you nowhere with me, very well let's do it. I hope you have the skill to back you claims and this isn't some silly game to you. If you are serious about pursuing this path let this be a valuable lesson in humility and if you are not…" she says while smiling before dashing at me.

This girl is a freak. She strikes hard and moves fast. Good instinct too. She's was going easy on me but after seeing I'm not completely clueless at this she ups her game, by a couple thousand levels. Of course I'm still stronger and faster but she has the advantage in experience and skill. She doing things I haven't seen anywhere else before, coming up with counters from the most bizarre positions. If I was any other person I'd be down and out for the count. Luckily for me, I adapt.

My body is truly a marvel. It moves like I want it too. I feel like this is a game. I want it to block and it responds perfectly. Coupled with the massive experience gain I'm receiving from Saeko. I feel on top of the world right now. Life couldn't possibly get any better that this, right? Right. It can't while I was busy on cloud nine Saeko saw an opportunity and she took it. Next thing I know I'm on the ground pinned by the hot psycho lady. Nice. She smiling wildly at me.

"i let you win," I blurt out. Pretty embarrassed that I let my guard down so easily. If this was the apocalypse I might have lost my life. Note to self focus on the prey ahead of you.

"really, is that so? it doesn't look that way to me,"

"that's because…" quick brain think of something, 'your beauty distracted me no. I trip and fell' on what? 'I didn't want you to lose face' what is this mount Tai?

"should we go again then? It will be a good lesson for the other members as well,"

"Huh? What members… Oh," note to self focus on your surroundings. You could die if you get surrounded. Damn I guess I'm still a greenhorn. It seems that during our match we gained a little bit of an audience. They were quiet for the most part, probably looking in awe at the beautiful display of swordsmanship or maybe they were intrigued by the newbie who seemed to hold his own against their ace. It doesn't matter to me anyway.

"you're on," I said betraying my eagerness. Show me more Saeko. Wait that sounds wrong. Oh look at that a stick right in front of my eyes. Huh? Oh shi…
