"I bought it during my last trip, thinking since you're single and I'm the first in line. I'm not giving whoever's next to me a chance. Think about my offer and let's have a lot of fun together for a long time. And if it's not fun anymore, let's try being more serious then."
Fil's mouth fell open, staring vacantly at Jackson. She couldn't believe her ears or her eyes at the stone shimmering in front of her.
"Now this is impulse," she blurted out in disbelief. "Are you actually proposing to me?"
"I take every chance I get." He shrugged. "All I got to do now is make you want to marry me."
Goodness.
Fil shook her head mildly, gazing down at the ring on the table and then back to him. She came home with the intention of having some clarity and probably vent to him. After all, Jackson was the only person she could vent to and not get judged.
But a proposal?
"A real proposal?" she asked once more. "And a real marriage?"
