Meanwhile…
Elijah and Jackson idled by the pool, reclining on the lounge chairs with Elijah holding a light beer Jackson snuck for him.
"Do you think my sister is crying and wishing she came with us?" Elijah turned to Jackson curiously. "If she is, I feel bad."
"It's your idea to send her updates," Jackson smirked. "Don't worry about your sister. She'll be fine — at least, I don't think she's the type to cry herself to sleep just because she couldn't go on a vacation."
"You don't know my sister. She can be like that." Elijah puffed his cheeks. "When we're young, she always cries whenever people leave without her. I remember how she threw a big tantrum because mom and dad had to take me to the clinic while she had to stay behind."
Jackson chuckled, lifting the bottle of beer to his mouth. "That's not cute."
"My sister is never cute," Elijah commented, observing Jackson. "Do you like my sister?"
