"Marcus, can we meet today? It's just that I need a bit of help."
Marcus paced back and forth in his office, tapping the end of his phone against his palm. Fil called over fifteen minutes ago, asking him for some help. She didn't tell him the details as she said it was much better to say it in person. She also told him not to rush if he had important meetings at hand.
Marcus always had a lot of important work to do. He was an heir to a giant corporation.
"Why did she call me, though?" he wondered, stopping in his spot. "She rarely calls me."
Marcus gazed down at his phone, weighing his options for her invitation. If this was before, he wouldn't outright decline her request. But he would give her a lot of warnings that he might not make it. But earlier, he just told her, "Sure," before he could even think about it.
"Tsk. What's wrong with me?" He scratched his temple with the round edge of his phone. "Why did I agree so fast?"
