CHAPTER FIFTY FOUR: MY NEW SEAT PARTNERS.
It was on the second week; on Wednesday, when a woman who looked like she was in her early thirties came to our class
She introduced herself as our new class teacher and she told us her name is Ms. Hope soon after which, she briefly explained about herself then set up her own rules. She decided that, the coming Friday she would change our sitting position so we could make new friends and help each other out.
"I pray she will change her mind because, I can't stand staying with someone am not familiar" Victoria said as we were headed to the hostel.
"Even if we were to change sitting position I wish for it to be a cute boy or a girl it should be someone I can control" Morayo suggested as she day dreamed "Floral, what kind of person do you want as your seat partner?"Morayo asked as she turned to look at me.
"I don't want to be suggesting what kind of person I want, fate will decide for me. After all, it can't be someone we all are expecting" I explained to them "my only concern is where my seat will be located I don't want it to be far from the front" I added
"Seriously girl, that's your only concern? Where your seat would be?" Morayo asked frustrated by my response
"Well, I have to hope for something that might actually come true" I suggested as I shrugged.
"Any sitting position is acceptable as long as I get a person that I can be comfortable with to sit with" Victoria added "well, John and I have an appointment so I better get going" Victoria said before leaving our side.
"Nawa o, see how John and her are just having appointment now and then, let's us also find our lover so that we self we will be having an appointment to look up to" Morayo said soon after Victoria left us for John.
"Abi o" I said as our conversation ended. We didn't say anything else till we reached our hostel.
Finally Friday reached and it seems like everybody in the class are having the same prayer that Morayo had on Wednesday. It seems that we were all getting an answered prayer until the Ms. Hope entered the class just before the closing period bell rang. As she said on Wednesday, she started acting on it.
She changed everybody sitting position. My prayer seems to have been answered because, she didn't move me from my seat instead, and she took Morayo and Victoria away and joined me with another two students which are; a boy and a girl. Soon after, the girl introduced herself as Precious then after; I introduced myself to them and told them my name. It was the boy turn and himself as Ayo. For some reason the boy seems to be a shy type while, the girl is the exact opposite of the boy, then we all talked about our do's and don'ts(what we like and dislike)
Soon after, the bell rang and I left the seat to meet up with Victoria and Morayo.
"Ah! My seat partner is exactly the way I wished he's cute and his name is Ekab just like this I want Monday to come quick am already thinking about him" Morayo said while, drooling
"My seat partner is the exact opposite although he is cute but for reason, he isn't really kind of uncomfortable to seat with and not my type" Victoria said
"Why do you want your type after all you have a boyfriend?" I asked
"Flora why are you like this? I just want someone I can be comfortable with, it doesn't have anything to do with my emotional status" Victoria said giving me an eye contact
"Well my seat partners are the kind of people I like; I was blessed with a girl and boy to sit with." I said trying to change the topic
"What are their names?" Morayo asked feeling interested at what I was saying.
"Precious and Ayo" I replied
"Do you mean Ayo Makinde?" Victoria asked looking puzzled
"Yeah I think that what he said his name is" I answered staring at her "anything about him" I asked curiously
"Yeah, that boy is like one of the dumbest boy ever it is shocking that he didn't repeat he was the last in second term when we were in J.S.S. one" Victoria said facing my direction "Yet you said you were blessed with him" Victoria said teasing me.
"Well I never knew his records but, just because he hasn't bad grades doesn't dictate him. After all, everyone isn't perfect" I said trying to justify myself
"What did you say the other girl name was again?" Victoria asked trying to tackle me again.
"Precious, Akintoye Precious yeah, that's what she said her name was" I said
"Well lucky you she is the sister of the present Head girl Akintoye Blessing" Victoria said smiling making me remember, my brother isn't in this school anymore. He graduated as soon as I graduated from J.S.S one
He has even gotten admission into the University of Ibadan, one of the best universities on Nigeria
"I never knew she had a sister" I replied looking shocked.
"Victoria, how do you even manage to know this entire people?" Morayo asked looking puzzled
"Well I have a lot of friends, and John also spice things up with the juiciest gist in school so I happen to be updated with anything going on around the school" Victoria replied with a shrug
"So you really do have lot of friends but, you just like hanging out with us" Morayo added
"Well you two happen to be my closest friends, I mean like best friends" Victoria said
"Thanks Victoria! Me too, I take you as my best friend" I said trying to pull myself up
"But as you can see you were given a blessing and someone who isn't quite a blessing" Morayo said to me, trying to change topic.
