CHAPTER FIFTY SIX: GETTING TO KNOW MY SEAT PARTNERS
"It turns out you were right Daniel was up to something. He made a bet with some boys that he could make you get close to Ayo and even make him your boyfriend" Victoria said as she tried holding her laughter and before I knew it, she burst into laughter
"Victoria, it isn't funny" I said furiously
"Well to me, it is kind of funny that the same guy you once loved is still playing you again" Victoria said still laughing
"To me I think he is a jerk. I say we should give him a piece of our mind" Morayo said as she shrugged with a smile
"You know what… let's go now! I will show him the kind of girl he shouldn't be messing with" I said as I jumped into action as I looked around for my slippers
As soon as I got my slippers, I wore them and walked with Morayo. Just for me to hear Victoria's shout "Wait!" Victoria shouted. "You girls should not go out there and cause commotions instead, let's find a way to counter it…."
"….We.. can't.. just.. let.. him.. keep.. doing.. this.. to.. me" I stammered as I choked in my tears. Before I knew it, Victoria hugged me to calm me down.
I looked up to see that, I have drawn attention which was so crazy and uncomfortable. Morayo tried to reduce the attention and before we knew it, they diverted their attention away from us to continue on what they are doing
Victoria released me from the hug to look at me
"You see I promised John that, I won't tell anyone since it is a secret between Daniel and his co members" Victoria said as she tried convincing me on why I shouldn't suddenly attack Daniel
"Okay then! What do you think we should do" I asked Victoria as I somewhat felt convinced
"I think you should tell him yes and play along with him" Victoria said as she looked at me to see how I reacted with what she said "But know that no matter what, don't let him win the bet instead you gain from the money he gives you and when the time is right we would teach him a lesson not to mess with you" Victoria advised as she sounded convinced
"Okay let's do it! But, I want to know if Ayo is also in the bet with Daniel and you know… the others" I asked curiously as I looked at Victoria, waiting eagerly for her answer
"Partially yes and no" Victoria said squeezing her face as she looked as if she is hiding something or trying to remember something
"What do you mean by that" I asked confused by her answer and her expression
"They are actually forcing him with money to play along which sounds stupid" Victoria explained.
"Okay I see I know how I will handle it, does it mean that they are not actually cousins" I said feeling a little confident
"Yeah, he lied about that one too" Victoria said
"That crook! But, I just have to play along for the time being" I said looking at Victoria as she gave me a warm smile
Little after the conversation I had with Victoria, I headed out to meet Daniel to tell him my decision
Luckily, I met him at the field and I called for him privately. I made a happy face still while the inner of me is super furious at him
Later on, I told him I accepted his request then, he smiled and said he was excited that I should start on Monday and told me some other things that I probably knew were lies.
Just like that it was Monday,
As usual, I entered the class with Victoria and Morayo after doing our morning duties. Just as we were about settling on our seats, we heard the usual shout from the girls
"Boys are coming!"
Hearing that, girls that are on their wrapper, under wears jump down the window in fear that the boys will see them
Girls sleeping on the floor with their wrapper or blanket also run outside to the girls' hostel as fast as possible.
I just sat down and watched as Ayo entered with his singlet and uniform short and his shirt on his shoulder, his hair looking unkempt as if he didn't brush it at all and also, as he held his bag with his other hand
Behind him is his friend and followed by Daniel. Wow! Who would have guessed that Daniel will come to my class this early?
"The girls are as stupid as ever!" Ayo commented as he shook his head in disappointment at what he saw a girl doing
Maybe, he caught a girl jumping a window with her underwear on and also another with her wrapper on her shoulder.
"Yeah, as if it is a bad thing to have a wrapper" the friend said as he laughed
"That is even one reason I love boys" Ayo said with a smile as if proud of being a BOY?
"And you three must have forgotten that we have girls in the class who are listening to your silly conversations which involves our gender" Morayo broke as she already felt tired of hearing them
"Oh, you girls were listening?" Ayo asked being oblivious about it all of a sudden
"Mhmn! Mhmn! We were not listening, we were just playing" Morayo said teasingly as if trying to shun his stupid question
"Come on! Isn't it obvious that what your other girls did was very stupid and meaningless?" His friend responded as he stood on his stance.
"As you guys are stupid enough to act as if you don't exist at all" a girl from the back seat who was preparing to sweep her row, responded.
The guys turned to look at the girl who spoke
"Even if all animals are talking, are snails supposed to talk?" Daniel broke out bluntly
