CHAPTER TWENTY ONE: BENITA'S TROUBLE WITH US
"What?" Morayo asked when she saw Vanessa holding on to Victoria's wrist
Vanessa turned to look at all of us one by one and said "I am very grateful for what you did"
Gosh, was it the reason she held onto Victoria's wrist as if she meant something bad
"Okay but I already said, you were welcome" Victoria said looking at her calmly then at the hand touching her wrist
"I know" Vanessa said straightforwardly
"You can remove your hand from my wrist now" Victoria said not looking at her but at the hand on her wrist
"No, I don't want to release it now. I want to make a request" she said looking at the three of us one by one
"Go on" Victoria said calmly as she looked at her with a curious expression on her face
"Okay, do you guys mind if I join your clique?" she asked looking at us with this kind of pleading expression shown on her face
I didn't know that my friends and I have already formed a clique. Wow!
I looked at their expressions and I could see the confusion shown on their faces
"We are just friends, we are not a clique" Victoria said to the pleading Vanessa
"Then can we be friends?" she asked looking at us
"Yeah, we don't mind at all" Morayo answered shrugging
"Thank you for the good answer you gave to me" she said smiling as she showed off her dimples. Though, she has some dark spots on her cheeks and since she is fair, it is very obvious.
"You can release your hand from my wrist now" Victoria said uncomfortable with the fact that she is holding her wrist like that in the dining for that matter
"Oh, I am sorry for making you uncomfortable" she said as she removed her hand from Victoria's wrist and went to get her bag
We decided to leave again when we heard the same Vanessa saying, "wait, please" she said as she walked towards us
"What do you want again?" this time I was the one asking because I was tired of staying too long in the dining hall because of her
"I want to be walking with you guys too" she said as she stood beside Morayo
"Okay, let's go" Morayo said as we walked out of the dining hall together
"Which hostel are you in?"
"The same hostel as you guys" she answered surprising me
She had really been eyeing us then "have you been stalking us?" I asked suspiciously
"Nah, I haven't… It is just that, I saw you guys this morning when we went to take our bath but, I am not in the same class with you guys" she said defending herself
"Okay, which are you in?" I asked interested in knowing her class
"I am a J.S.S. 1A student" she answered looking at me as we walked pass the mango tree
"Oh, good for you" I said to her as I looked at where we were heading to
"You know, you mentioned wanting to be our friends. So, what lured you to say that?" Victoria asked curiously
"I just felt that you guys are so kind and nice and to top it all, you look like someone that don't discriminate others for what they are" she said as she mostly looked at Victoria
"Oh, thanks for the compliment and to avoid more troubles with people in the future, you don't judge people just by looking at them. All you said were true, by the way" Victoria said as we walked passed a big tree that I don't know the name of the fruit it produces
"Okay, thanks for the advice" Vanessa said smiling as we walked past the solar building
"Hey wait there!" someone said
Well, we ignored that because we thought the person weren't referring to us
"I said wait there, Victoria and whoever is with you" again, the person says
We halted and turned to look at the person
"What do you want, Benita?" asked Morayo immediately she sighted the caller
"Yeah, it is the girl you falsely accused" Benita said as she walked closer to us
"It seems the punishment isn't enough and point of correction, there wasn't anything like falsely accused in the noise maker list I wrote down" Victoria said with a furious expression shown on her face as if she isn't even happy to see Benita
"It is called that because you didn't mention your crush's name" Benita said as she looked at her closely
"Who told he is my crush? Didn't you hear what Ms. Mustapha said about that or were you deaf?" Victoria said furiously
Oh men… This is the first time I have ever heard Victoria insult someone, I even thought she was the gentle type that doesn't say much maybe because she doesn't like Benita
"Isn't it quite obvious that he is your crush?" Benita asked
"She already said, he isn't, so let it be" I said to her annoyed that she is still talking on that matter
"What is it with you? Did I talk to you shortie?" she said indirectly insulting me
"At least I am short and not fat not like that is large and fat" I said to her annoyed by the fact she had to call me shortie
"Hey, watch your mouth" Benita said to me as she pointed at me
"How will I? When you are not even respecting yourself" I said to her also annoyed at the fact that she makes Victoria do what she doesn't really do
"Whatever, as I said earlier" Benita said and turned to look away from me and turned to face Victoria "Remember what I said about seniors making you work, well, I wasn't joking because my cousin is here to send you to work" she said as she pointed at a huge girl wearing a senior school uniform
"You can't make me to work unnecessary" Victoria said defending herself
"Well, it is not me but the senior. You also know the disadvantage for disobeying a senior"
