Hearing that one of his disciples was injured, Du Zhuhui didn't know how to react. Worry? Guilt? Or relief?
Because he was his disciple, obviously Du Zhuhui was going to worry about his well being. For guilt, Du Zhuhui knew how the Technique he had passed to his disciples were not compatible with how thin the Spiritual Qi.
Even though the Cultivation Techniques were top tier in his hometown, in this southern hemisphere only about a tenth of the Technique's potential is displayed.
As for relief... His disciple was at least alive. If he died, his life may not return.
"Where is he?"
Wen Zhexi looked at his Master with a solemn expression.
"Near the Abyss of Damnation."
Alcarel Sea, often called the Abyss of Damnation, was the most dangerous Sea that Du Zhuhui ever went to. Not even the Seas of the other region in the continent were as dangerous as the Abyss of Damnation.
"Did Hou Siqing go there?! I told him to never go there!"
Hou Siqing, the 3rd disciple of Du Zhuhui. Although in terms of strength he is just below Nie Weiheng, his 1st disciple, Hou Siqing was a half-dwarf. Because of his race, he can't cultivate properly without pure Spiritual Qi.
In the Alcarel Desolate Land, the only place with the purest qi comparable to the other regions in the continent was the Abyss of Damnation. When Du Zhuhui knew about this fact, he went there to cultivate, however, due to his strength at the Core Realm back then, he couldn't even beat the outer monster near the shore. Facing the defeat, Du Zhuhui didn't dare to go back there until he was strong enough.
Being informed of the grave situation of his disciple, Du Zhuhui hurriedly took all the storage rings containing his most prized possession and directly flew out of the sect.
While flying toward the direction of the Alcarel Sea, Wen Zhexi looked at his Master worriedly.
Noticing the worried look of Wen Zhexi, Du Zhuhui just looked at him and didn't say much. He knew what his 17th disciple was worried about. After all, he was reaching the end of his lifespan, his disciple was worried that his strength may not be enough to even fight against the outer monster at the shore.
However, there was something he didn't tell his disciples. Even though his lifespan was reaching the end, his power was still the same as it was in the peak. This was something that even the Sect Master found strange when Du Zhuhui first informed him about his lifespan ending a few years ago.
But he could feel that he was nearing, although there was this abnormality, Du Zhuhui didn't dwell deeper about it and focus on nurturing his last disciple.
On the way to Alcarel Sea, the phone that Wen Zhexi brought with him started ringing. Surrounding the phone with a protective layer of Spiritual Qi, Wen Zhexi accepted the call and put it on a loud speaker.
"Hello! Who is this? I am currently busy flying so say what you want fast."
The caller paused for a few seconds and then started sniffing.
Hearing the sound of a child crying, Wen Zhexi looked at his Master.
"Master, Ji Yichen is on the phone. What should I say to him?"
Recalling his dear disciple, it seems like they abruptly left without informing him. Knowing how clingy Ji Yichen was with him, he knew that he would feel lonely and abandoned if he didn't see him.
"Just say we will be back tonight."
Hearing the words of his Master, Wen Zhexi immediately informed Ji Yichen. It seems like those words calmed him down now that the sound of him sniffing wasn't heard anymore. Then, a gentle voice came in.
"Zhexi, sorry to bother you while you are flying. But Ji Yichen had been crying since earlier looking for his Master, that's why I called you. Don't worry, I will take care of him while you go save your Senior Brother."
Wen Zhexi had already informed his wife about where they were heading while his Master was preparing. After all, he didn't want to worry her.
"Thanks, Qingyin. Don't worry, we will be back later."
But there was something he didn't tell her. He hid the fact that the place where they were going was on the Alcarel Sea. He feared that if Qingyin came to know that they would be rescuing Hou Siqing there, she would be against it.
Ending a call after saying goodbye, Wen Zhexi looked at the ring in his hand. It was the promise of his and Duan Qingyin, looking at it he was unsure what will happen later. Will they survive? Or succumb to their... death?
Shaking those thoughts away from his mind, Wen Zhexi focused on his flight. As a Nascent cultivator, if he didn't focus enough on his flight he could die from falling. It needs a great concentration in order to fly.
He needed to circulate his Spiritual Qi and surround himself with it after releasing it from his own reserves. After that, he would need to release a bit of his Spiritual Qi in order to have enough force to fly.
To avoid Spiritual Qi depletion while they were flying, Wen Zhexi and Du Zhuhui brought with them a pouch full of Low-level Spiritual Qi Recovery pills.
The amount they brought was more than enough for a 3 roundtrip trip from the Clarity Sky Forge Sect to the Alcarel Sea.
Finally seeing the Sea, Du Zhuhui and Wen Zhexi decided to stop over at the nearest City in the Alcarel Sea, Azuryss City.
Unlike the other city in the Alcarel Desolate Land, this was an Independent City not under the jurisdiction of the Alcarel Government. It was also a City where the power of being part of Clarity Sky Forge Sect was nonexistent.
A city where powerful cultivators from all over the Alcarel Desolate Land came by before venturing to the Alcarel Sea. It was bustling with people with every street that looked like some sort of flea market.
The Azuryss City's Market was divided in two. The outer part of the market was where Cultivator's needs are being sold, while the inner parts are for civilians.
The layout was made like this because most of the Cultivators would only buy things they needed and then leave the city. By putting the Cultivator's Stores at the outer parts of the City, it wouldn't disturbed the civilians by the Cultivators coming and going.
Stopping by a Pill Store, Du Zhuhui bought another pouch of Low-Level Spiritual Qi Recovery Pill. This was for his injured disciple.
As they were going around the city, Du Zhuhui saw a familiar face. A face from a person that shouldn't be here. A face that he could only see if he went back to his hometown, Du Zhuchen.
