Chapter 8 - Seeking Artifact

When Du Zhuhui tried to look back again towards the familiar face, he was gone. Maybe he was hallucinating. After all, his lifespan was ending so this could be normal for his case. Hallucinating about what he regrets the most in life.

If only he didn't stumble upon the Secret Realm that led him here... However, those were only what ifs.

Even if he wanted to go back in time and change his choices, it already happened. It couldn't be changed no matter how much he wished for it.

Despite his regrets, he still felt grateful to have his disciples. Although he initially only took them as tools that would aid him in his Cultivation, as the time he spent with them passed by he couldn't help but feel attached.

"Master! Let's get going early!"

Returning back to reality, Du Zhuhui recalled why he came here.

Though he always looked towards the past, what he needed to focus more now was on the present. Giving a great importance to his Disciple first than to himself.

"Then let's go directly towards the Abyss of Damnation."

Following his Master, Wen Zhexi started flying towards the Abyss of Damnation.

As soon as they arrived at the beach, there was something preventing them from flying. As if they were being brought down under a pressure of 10 times the gravity.

"Let's get down there."

Du Zhuhui already knew about one of the characteristics of the beach of Alcarel Sea.

Flying here wasn't allowed, they could only walk.

Reaching the end of the beach, as the waves of the Sea met the land, Du Zhuhui and Wen Zhexi could already feel the monsters' auras.

"Now, where the hell is Hou Siqing?"

Only people with spiritual perception could find out what was in the Sea, so normal people would think that there weren't any Monsters hiding inside. However, to cultivators, this Sea was a nightmare.

It was full of strong monsters that the weakest was the 3 Star Monster, which was equivalent to Early Core Realm. As for the Strongest, no one ever tried to seek for the answer due to how dangerous it was.

Even when Du Zhuhui was still living on the other side of the Alcarel Forbidden Mountains, he heard many stories about the Sea. Only those with Immortal Celestial Realm could survive in the deep Sea.

In order to pass through the Alcarel Forbidden Mountains one would need the strength of a Celestial Realm, but for the Alcarel Sea they would need the strength of an Immortal Celestial Realm to survive... It could be seen how far dangerous the Sea as to compared to the mountains.

Taking a deep sigh, Du Zhuhui didn't know how to save his disciple.

"Wen Zhexi, how did you contact your senior brother?"

Wen Zhexi took out his phone and showed it to his Master.

"Master, Senior Brother Hou Siqing sent me a message asking for help..." Wen Zhexi tapped the Message Icon and then showed the message to his master. "Look master, if senior brother was able to send a message it means that he hasn't left the coverage area of the Signal."

Du Zhuhui let out a 'hmm' response and then started to search for a suitable Artifact in his Ring that could help him look for Hou Siqing.

After looking around, he soon found what he wanted and then took it out from his Spatial Ring.

"This would do."

Seeing the artifact at the hands of his Master, Wen Zhexi's eyes become bigger due to surprise.

"That... Didn't senior brother Nie Weiheng break that artifact?"

Realizing that he let out something that only he and his other fellow disciples kept as a secret, Wen Zhexi immediately covered his mouth with his hands.

"Ha! So it was that Bastard fault why the other Seeking Artifact was broken."

"The other?" What Wen Zhexi focused more on was the key word that there was another Seeking Artifact still at the hands of his Master.

"Did you think I have only one of these? I have plenty of 5 of these!"

Looking at the Seeking Artifact, Wen Zhexi remembered some trauma he had experienced back when he was still the newest disciple of his Master.

Back when his Master took him as a disciple, not only he needed to do the other basic ceremony of becoming a disciple, he also needed to tattoo something on his wrist.

Being a naive young man who was full of excitement due to being a disciple of an Elder of the Sect, he just followed what his Master said.

It was only after 6 months of training that he came to know the true purpose of the Tattoo.

It was an artifact that let people with the Tattoo be always found by the owner of the Seeking Artifact.

At that time, Wen Zhexi was getting tired of always training his basics and never got a chance to have a proper start of Cultivation Training. Getting a chance to finally get away from the boring training after half a year had passed, Wen Zhexi went to the forest of the Sect in order to seek some adventure.

However, he got lost. After hours of wandering around the forest he found that his tattoo started to glow, and within a few minutes he found his Master standing in front of him.

At the beginning, the artifact was actually a blessing for him. Without it, he wouldn't be able to find the way out. However, the next time his Master used in order to find him was a nightmare because he couldn't easily get away from the torture— no, Cultivation training under his Master.

Back then his Senior Brother Nie Weiheng was actually very willing to train under Master, he was also the one supervising them New Disciples to train but for some reason, at some point he got angry at his Master and broke the Seeking Artifact before leaving the sect.

But it didn't take long for him to return with the 4th Senior Sister and started to cultivate again, but unlike before, he worked harder than ever he did.

Soon he understood why his Senior Brother was like that, it was because he couldn't even enter the top 100 in the Sparring Session of the Sect.

Knowing that this was his first time, he and other disciples still supported their 1st Senior Brother. After all, a first timer would be nervous.

But in the next Sparring Session, Nie Weiheng barely entered the Top 100 at 95.

Though there was improvement, it was far from their hopes.

Soon, they started thinking that maybe they weren't really that powerful...

Their Master only took them due to pity...

Or, although their Master was an Elder, he is one of the weakest.

This was all what they were thinking about until their hope of becoming unparalleled started to waver.
