Chapter 6 - One The Right Day

Seoul, South Korea

Knock... Knock...

The sound of knocking on the door was followed by the door open. Each one of the people who has been in the room is surprised, but not that kind of surprise.

They know who walks into their room and ruins their dinner. This should be a party because they closed the case and this team will disband.

But as they looked into that man's eyes, the same person who barged into the Prosecutor's Office when Sunny arrived in Los Angeles, they knew this was not a good thing. Something must happen.

Min-tae knew this was what Sunny had warned him about. The payment is about the proof that they give in.

And maybe the nightmare is starting to begin now.

"Good evening, Special Team, do I need to introduce myself again?" Jong-gi asked.

"What did you come here for?" Min-tae asked.

"I guess I don't need to say why I came here, do I?"

Jong-gi had said his words, but for some reason, his eyes kept looking at Jae-young.

Jae-young knows that he's been targeting since Jong-gi arrived at this room. He's not stupid not to realize it. If this situation is continued, all he can think of is, that person or NIS already knows about who he is.

And that's not about the hacker things.

"We're here to disband our team, the case is closed, so I beg you not to disturb our dinner," said Jae-young.

Jong-gi sat on one chair, poured water into a glass, and then drank it. "I know what you're doing here, but, I can't let you disband this team."

"Why? Do you need something from us?" Tae-guk asked.

"Exactly, I do need you all, but I think you need me too."

"Even if we needed you, I don't think we want that help now," Hee-jun replied.

"Are you sure? Then let's change our conversation. I'm so sorry to interrupt your dinner but I do have good news for you all."

"Just, tell us, what you need and leave this place," said Min-tae.

"If you're interested in us because of DFK. We have absolutely nothing to do with that case, you were there, you know Madam Kei, Sunny mother has been arrested by the CIA. The case is over," said Hee-jun.

"We are not interested in the DFK case, we knew from the start that DFK was under CIA supervision, and we didn't want to interfere with that, especially if there were no special orders. We approached her using DFK."

"Can you guys be honest, if it's not about DFK then what is it about?" Yun-min asked.

"If it wasn't about DFK, I think there was only one case linking the Special Team to Kang Soo-hee," answered Hyun-jae.

"Could it be that case?" Nayeon asked.

Jong-gi nodded his head, like he trying to understand, and took the glass again. He put the glass on the table. He smiles while he looks at the team. And for the first time, Jae-young seeing a man smile would be very intimidating and scary.

"Congratulations, NIS decided to re-open the Park Suwon case. Since one of your team breaks this out to the public, we want you all The Special Team to cooperate with us to finish the case. And when I said The Special Team I mean every one of them."

The room starts to become really quiet. No one was saying anything, they processed everything that NIS said to them with silence.

Hee-jun still thinks that what they mean is still related to DFK. But the problem is, they don't investigate the case, and turns out this is about a 5-years-old case.

Tae-guk can't say anything since he's the one who bailed on Sunny 5 years ago.

And Jae-young knows this is the time he needs to come clear to his friends.

Min-tae knows this will come in one way or another, they can't run from this case for too long. He took a breath, Seon-mi who was sitting next to him understood what Jong-gi meant, what case they were talking about. She held Min-tae's hand tightly. As if to say everything will be fine.

From the start, he knew that receiving such large assistance from the NIS would result in even greater debts because that is exactly what would happen.

"This is the price of the evidence you provided?" Min-tae asked.

Tae-guk and Jae-young looked at Min-tae with surprised eyes, as if they had forgotten what NIS had given them. If at that time NIS does not provide the evidence they need, they will find it difficult to resolve this.

"If you approach us like this, you might have done something before you came here, and throw some shit to us," said Tae-guk.

"You not come here alone, right?" Min-tae asked.

"I'd bring someone and send someone too. My men are outside, this conversation remains confidential, and can't leave this room, I can't let anyone hear about this."

"Who did you bring? Jang Lay?" Min-tae asked.

"Like I said I need everyone, including him."

"I just wanted to make sure but the Special Team has disbanded, right?" Eun-tak asked.

"Yes, the Special Team has disbanded, what else do you want? It's impossible for her to come back home, what's the plan?" Jae-young hopes that they won't say it.

Min-tae looked at Jong-gi, he understood the look the Prosecutor was giving to him, he just smiled, trying to answer even just from his gaze.

"Who knows where Sok-ji is now?" Min-tae asked.

"You sent Sok-ji to L.A?" Hee-jun asked.

"If he left yesterday it means he's already arrived in LA, ah, no wonder yesterday he asked for some equipment," continued Jae-young.

"You said you don't know anything about him leaving for 3 months," ucap Seon-mi.

"I didn't know he was on leave for 3 months but I knew he was going to see her."

"She warned me that the price of the evidence you provided would be expensive, and now you brought me the case that I've been avoiding for the past 5 years," said Min-tae.

Jong-gi handed over a file wrapped in a brown envelope, as usual with a confidential stamp on the front. Min-tae quickly opened and read the document, but what could he do when he read it he only had one thing in mind, could it be like this?

Even what they got and knew 5 years ago was nothing.

Min-tae looked at Jong-gi, "Since when have you been investigating this case?"

Jong-gi sighed. "We usually know everything that happens in this country, but when she broadcast the case live 5 years ago, I finally understood, that something is wrong and we didn't know about it. As Head of The Domestic Crime Prevention Team, I have failed."

"You don't know? Does this make sense?" Hyun-jae asked.

"You might say we don't know and that doesn't make sense. But it same for us, how can you all know when we don't anything about it? After your accident we try to investigate but none. We don't have anything."

"We know, it's because there is something... " said Tae-guk.

"Tae-guk ah, enough," Min-tae interrupted. "Have you talked to her?"

"Well, if you mean did I talk to her about the case, no, I haven't. But I did ask her when we can see her in Seoul, and answered no, she won't come home, and she said she doesn't want to know everything and I should come to you about it."

"She said no?" asked Tae-guk.

Jong-gi nodded his head. "I met her when I dropped Keil off for the CIA. I know she's still investigating it even now, that's why I met Jang Lay and Sok-ji. Right, Han Jae-young a.k.a Lian?"

Jae-young remained silent, there was something he didn't tell Sunny, Min-tae, and Tae-guk, about who he was apart from Han Jae-young, Chae Young Shin's boyfriend who died 8 years ago.

Hearing Jong-gi talk like that, he was sure that Suny and Jang Lay already knew who he was.

"5 years ago when Park Suwon, who was exposed by Sunny, was not just about that, you may have discovered that Park Suwon was doing prostitution, but there was someone who covered it up and quickly moved to close the case, including separating Sunny from Min-tae," Jae-young tried to explain.

"You told her about that?" Min-tae asked.

"Wait, who? What company? Min-tae and I never found any company," continued Tae-guk.

Jae-young took a deep breath, he tried to breathe even though it felt short of breath. "There is one company behind it, Blue Labz Kings, BLK Company, Han Suk-jin," answered Jae-young.

"Jae-young ah geumanhae. I know this will take a long time if we discuss it," Lay came into the room stopping them from talking.

"Lay... "

"Let my men deliver the others. Prosecutor Lee, Tae-guk, and Jae-young we go somewhere else."

"You were outside all this time?" Min-tae asked.

"I was outside all this time, I came because Sok-ji said he had arrived at the DFK building."

"He's already there?" Jong-gi asked.

"Hmm, I gave the fastest Jet I could, so he arrived early, he also met her. We'd better talk outside. Do you want us to talk here and reveal everything?"

"Where?" Tae-guk asked.

"You have the key to her house, right? Even though I have it, I'm sure you've changed it," Lay looked at Jae-young. He surely knew Jae-young had it.

"I've plan to go there after this."

"So let's go. There's no point in staying here too long," said Lay.

They came out of the private room of the restaurant, and several JL Enterprise security guards to escort the remaining members of the Special Team.

"Seon-mi, I can't leave you alone."

"Prosecutor Lee, this is Lee Seo-won, Sunny bodyguard. He will look after Seon-mi at your house until you come home."

"I'm okay, calm down, we promised, right?" Seon-mi patted Min-tae's head so he could calm down.

Min-tae hugged his fiancé. "Be careful, call me if there's anything feels wrong."

"Calm down, trust me."

The three of them waited, and everyone waited for the others to leave with JL Enterprise security. Jae-young looked around, this restaurant shouldn't have too many visitors today because he rented half of the restaurant.

"Hey, why are you looking like that? Is something wrong?" Tae-guk asked, he saw that his friend was a little strange.

"It's okay, just... "

"Ah, I'm sorry, but if you haven't reservation, we can't give you a room. Do you want me to made you an reservation for tomorrow?"

Jae-young was distracted by a voice beside him, he turned his head and saw a woman trying to enter, but when they made eye contact she avoided him and kept looking down.

"Miss, sorry so how about we make an reservation for tomorrow?"

Jae-young became increasingly suspicious, the person's movements were strange, as if she was trying to hear what they were talking about.

"Mmm," the woman tried to look back at them but when her eyes once again met Jae-young's eyes she looked down again.

Jae-young started to get suspicious, even though he only glanced at her face, he knew there was something strange about this woman.

"Miss, sorry, do you want make reservation or not?" the receptionist asked again.

"Jae-young ah, stop looking at girls," said Min-tae.

"Hyung!" Jae-young is annoyed with Min-tae.

"Let's go now, you brought your car, right?" Tae-guk patted Jae-young on the shoulder who was still looking at the woman in front of the receptionist.

"Hmm, we'll meet at Soo-hee shop, I'll lead the way from there, the entrance is different," said Jae-young but he was still looking at the woman.

The woman seemed surprised to hear Jae-young's words. She immediately looked at Jae-young and the others. Jae-young is not stupid, he deliberately said Soo-hee's name to confirm whether his guess was true or not.

And when Jae-young stepped closer. The woman immediately turned back to the receptionist. "I'm so sorry, I'll excuse myself," she said then immediately left the restaurant.

Jae-young frowned, this was strange, that's what he thought.

"Han Jae-young! Hurry up!" Tae-guk shouted.

"Yes, yes."

But Jae-young didn't have time to think about what happened, and who the woman was, the things they were going to talk about with NIS and Lay were more important. He had to prepare himself.
