Chapter 10 - The PTSD Shit

Kang Mansion, Los Angeles, USA.

As soon as she turned off the call, Sunny left the study. Sok-ji doesn't give up he tries to chase her. He was trying to turn things around as she said at the beginning. He just wanted to finish this sooner and be able to immediately carry out what he was supposed to do.

Sok-ji pulled Sunny hand to prevent her from going any further. The two of them stood in the hallway of the house at the same time the guards who were at several points saw the two of them.

Sunny bodyguard Zax, whose real name is Danny, saw this, from his first glance he could realize that these two people were fighting.

"Tell me, what's wrong? Don't you also want this to be over quickly?" Sok-ji asked.

Seeing her like this there are only two things on Sok-ji's mind. She's stalling or she's considering investigating without NIS. Because she doesn't want to take part in this investigation is unreasonable.

This case destroyed her career and even the friendships she had, but when she had the opportunity to strike back she didn't want to do it.

"Hhh..." I don't know how many times I took that breath today. "Sok-ji."

"Ma'am, it's 3 PM already, Danny walked over to the two of them, he knew it wasn't the right time, but saw the two of them arguing. It seemed like a good time to go in and separate them.

"Sok-ji, I have to go for a moment."

Sok-ji was silent for a moment, then he smiled, trying not to escalate the situation. "Fine, take your time, I'll talk to them."

"Never mind, just don't talk to them anymore."

"I won't give up because I know you never give up on this."

Sok-ji returns to the study room turns on the video call again, and sees everyone is still there.

He understands, that everyone probably thought that Sunny would do that because she had still investigating her for a long time, but now suddenly she doesn't want to do that.

"She doesn't want to talk now, I don't understand either. She left with her bodyguards. I think she needs time to think," said Sok-ji.

Jae Young nodded, he understood. "Sok-ji, just accompany her. sorry for getting you involved in this."

"Okay, I'll accompany her first, let me know if there are any developments. I'll try talking to her again."

Jae Young turned off the call again. Sok-ji, leaning his head on the chair.

Talking to Soo-hee was the last thing he wanted to do because once Soo-hee had made her choice, it would be difficult to change it.

She's pretty stubborn about anything, and Sok-ji is pretty persuasive when it comes to Soo-hee, he'll let it slide for a while and will persuade her again later.

Knock... Knock...

"Come in," said Sok-ji.

"Sir, do you want some wine?" A person with blonde hair, a tall body, and neat makeup, offered wine.

Sok-ji was quite confused since earlier all he had seen were men and no women. "I'm sorry, who are you?" asked Sok-ji.

"She's a sommelier," Danny answered from behind the woman.

"My name is Karin, if you want some wine, just call me."

"I'll keep that in mind."

"So, excuse me," Karin left the room.

Meanwhile, Danny is still there, Sok-ji is waiting for him to come out, but it seems like he has no intention of coming out. If he doesn't want that then there is only one thing left, he wants to talk.

"You want to talk to me?" Sok-ji asked.

"Ya, I think we need to talk about something, sir."

"About Sunny, you mean?" Sok-ji tried to confirm.

"Yes, sir, I don't know what happened between you two, but, I think you need to know about something."

Sok-ji was silent, he knew times like this would appear and that there would be people who might say things like this.

"If you mean about her friend being in the CIA or about the sniper who tried to hurt her I know. Is there anything else I should know?"

Danny smiles, from the moment he sees Sok-ji he knows this person is different. Fox had told him that there was something different about him, even Jack. They both notice Sok-ji while still in the building.

The way he analyzes and the way he looks at Sunny is not someone who wants something from a relationship but indeed they both need each other.

"If I'm not mistaken, your name is Zax, right?"

"That's my code name here. But my name is Danny Ace."

Sok-ji nodded his head. "So tell me, is there anything I should know? Or do you want to know about her while she was in Korea? How she restore my name and the agency."

"I've read it, even though my Korean isn't very good, I can understand a little."

"Then you know, right, I'm not here just to have fun or to date?"

"I know, I can look through your eyes, but I'm not talking about that."

"So what are you saying?"

"Sunny took this after the operation," Danny handed him a bright yellow bottle.

Sok-ji stares at the bottle and Zax repeatedly. "Anti-depressant? Why is she drinking this? What for?"

"I have to be honest with you about one thing, I worked here not long ago, about a week after the sniper shooting incident. I met Jin and Hans several times when I took Sunny for check-ups. She had been taking this not long after the surgery was finished. The diagnosis given was that Sunny had PTSD."

"Sunny? PTSD? One thing I can't believe happened to her, PTSD is a bit difficult. She's not the one who can fall easily."

"I know maybe for some people, like you. This seems quite unreasonable, but you should understand better, she has been through a lot in the last 12 years, especially the last 5 years. In the past 7 months, what has happened to her? She was almost killed with you in the car, Michael's arrival, Keil's attempted murder, the stabbing at the airport, the hospital shooting by Vores, and finally the time-consuming shoulder surgery. Even though she is strong, she's still a human, not a superhero. Who left the war without scars."

Sok-ji is silent, what Danny said is true she has been through a lot. "So what do you mean? Should I let her let go of this case?"

"Sir, if you love her, you need to stop this."

"Stopping what?"

"This, all of this, she can't handle a bad thing now. All she needs is to focus on the company and her recovery."

"Do you think I don't know about it? DFK has almost 10.000 employees. But if you knew and knew who she was, you wouldn't talk like that. This case is everything to her."

Danny was silent, he knew very well, he already knew about Sunny's family, and he knew at that time he was assigned to be her bodyguard. But this time he didn't know what would happen next.

As a person who used to be often on the battlefield, he knew, this premonition was bad. Whether he is in Korea later or in LA, everything is not fine.

Sunny is too innocent to trust other people, but she also doesn't have much time to find out what's going on, and the most she can do is guard against anything that will happen.
