Maple entered in a well lit room. The room was a 12 by 8 rectangular shape with minimul furnitures in it. In the center of the room was a rectangular table with chairs facing the door from which Maple enetered. Maple noticed 3 figures sitting on these chairs. As she slowly...slowly walked towards these people, she began to analyze them to improve her chances of landing the job. In the center was a buff man wearing a blue suit, white shirt and a cloud colored tie. He had matching eye color with his suit--blue--blond hair and short nose. His eyes although charming and alluring were really sharp like a blade. The name tag on the table read Top Gun. On this man's right, a beautiful lady with her bun on her head, holded by a mystical wodden hairpin with exquisite pheonix design was seated. She had red eyes that matched with her stylish red tanktop. Her name on the name tag was flamethrower. On Top Gun's left side, was a man with black messy hair, black suit with white shirt and black tie was sitting. It was as if, the man had just came from a funeral. His name was Dark soul. Similar, to his name the air around this man was extremely vicious and dark. However, his act was completely nonchalant. It was like he was not at all looking forward ro tkaing interviews for selecting a secretary. Maple's first impression of these 3 was of 3 cartoons who came to a fashion show. This was because they all wore just one type of color, matching with their eyes, and their names were based on characters of a movie that she watched on netflix. She was trying so hard to suppress her laughter, but she afterall, was just a 14yr. old girl wearing clothes of a 20 yr. old. No matter how much she try to pretend to be an adult, she still had a childishness to her that a teeenager is supposed to have. So she just laughed out loud. But, the moment her laughter escaped her lips and echoed in the empty room, she realized, how much trouble she was into. She saw the faces of the Top Gun, who she nicknamed Mr. Blue, since he was wearing all blue and Flame Thrower, who was wearing all red, as Miss Red, twist with anger and frustration. Dark soul, dubbed as Mr. Blacky had unreadable expression on his face. Little Maple's brain was racing to somehow correct the situation she has gotten into. So she began to sweetmouth her interviewers. Although, she was laughing at their names, she researched hong group before coming here. She did read their names online, but never expected them to be true. Nonethless, she began spouting their achievements.
"Mr. Top Gun, I admire your skills that have brought this company to new heights. Just last month, you brought a big project--Project X" that raised the revenue of the company two fold.
"Ms. Flame thrower, your art and fashion sense is revered globally. Your hotel designs have given new life to them. Without you, Hong coorporation's hotel indistry might not have survived the competition from other top famous hotel chains.
And Mr. Dark Soul...Maple hesitated for a moment. It was stated on the website that among the 3 leaders, the most useless leader was Dark Soul. The output from his department was the slowest of all. His department is responsible for scouting projects, spokesperson, suitable location for a project, launching of new products, etc. In short, his department had like a supporting role. After a short period of time, she regained her senses and continued,
"Mr. Dark Soul, you and your team's effort in assisting is not overshadowed by the other 2 leaders' departments. Your work is admirable and I would like to express gratitude for your hard work. Thank you"
"Right now, I was so excited that I got to see such influential people, and the thought that I might get to work with them in the future made me ecstatic, and lost my composure for a while. Please forgive my rudeness".
Top Gun dismissed these remarks with a flick of his right hand and said, "I like how you handled a situation which had turned against you in matter of few seconds. An assistant should be able to assess a situation and come up with a solution in just few minutes, you do have the qualities to become an excellent assistant".
Maple's heart began to beat heavily, she anticipated that she would become the assistant of a top leader. But, the next second her dreams were shattered.
Top Gun continued, " However, you were the one whose childish impulses caused the awkward situation in first place. I cannot have an assistant who doesn't know how to control their emotions and facial expressions. This could cost a hwavy lost thw company".
Even though Maple lost the chance to become Mr. Blue's assistant, she still hoped to become the assitant of Ms. Red. Today, there were 3 open spots for assistant. All 3 leaders wanted a new assistant. So, she still had 2 chances. However, Maple didn't want to become a assistant of Dark Soul becuase he looked scary.
The interviewers asked Maple tons of question after this. And by interviewers, I mean only Flame thrower, because Mr. Blue had already rejected her, and Mr. Black had his eyes closed in his chair. After about 15 minutes of questioning, Ms. Red finally said,
"You have all the qualities of an assistant that I am looking for. But, the most important quality, 'listening and assessing accordingly' is the quality you lack. While answering my questions, you didn't object to what I was saying at all. I even saw you hesitate once, before saying yes. I realized that you don't have confidence in your knowledge, so if you can't assert yourself, how are you going to convey my, a leader's order, to others? They won't take you seriously at all. Alas, I am sorry, but you can't be my assistant".
A dejected expression was creeping on Maple's face. But, she quickly pulled through it. She smiled and said, " It's alright. I am not going to beg for this job. I know it is high paying, but I also have my integrity about not begging to anyone. Moreover, I sincerely thank-you for telling me my short-comings. I will pay attention to it for my other interviews. Thank-you". She bowed to the 3 interviewes and began to exit the room.
Suddenly, Mr. Black opened his eyes. He said in a rough voice, "I like your uprightness and tenacity. You can come under my wing". After saying, he stood up and began to walk towards the door. Maple was shocked to the core on her place. While passing by Maple, Mr. Black said, "Report to building F tomorrow in resource department to get your ID. Then, come to my office". "Also, if you are going to continue to stand here, do I need to call security to pick you and carry you down to your vehicle? If you don't say anything, the moment I step out from this door, they will come in to carry you. Plus, their fees would be 1000 yen". Mr. Black continued to walk towards the door. Maple realizing she will have to pay 1000 yen for no reason sprinted to the door. Mr. Black was about to twist the door knob. She pushed him aside and ran out the door before him and took the stairs to go to the basement, where her vehicle was parked. I mean where her cycle was parked. She can't drive yet. Mr. Black just saw the fleeing figure and laughed out loud scaring the other people who came for the interview of assistant. He just shook his head and walked to his office.
