Chapter 12 - Nervousness solution

After all the cleaning, all body parts of both Maple and Jasmine were creaming for rest. However, they still had a long way to go back to rest. Maple and Jasmine had come here on bike, so naturally Jasmine had left her car in basement of hong building. To go back, she has to use Maple's cycle. But, her house is 10km away from where they are right now. And her phone has died, so she can't even book an uber app. Furthermore, Maple doesn't have a Uber app to book.

Jasmine: How do you not even have the least modern app in your phone?

Maple: Well...whose talking???The person who doesn't even have youtube because their parents blocked it.

Jasmine: Atleast I had it once before and I know how to navigate through youtube. But you?? You are the definition of a hermit who has cut all contact with modern world.

Maple: Alright...alright stop nagging already. Can't you see I have already downloaded the app while you were just complaining. Just tell me how to operate.

Jasmine: If we register now, it will take some time. So, I will just log into my google account and then book a ride that way.

Jasmine: Okay! I booked a ride. It will take 5 mins. for it to come pick me up. Here, have your phone back. By the way, what about you? How are you going to go home? Do you want me to give you a ride back?

Maple: No, its fine. My home is just 10 min. ride away from here.

After 5 mins. Jasmine's cab came and picked her up and they bid farewell to each other. Maple also paddled herself home and went to bed immediately since she had to attend office tomorrow in the morning.

The next morning, she woke up early in the morning and went out to jog. She wanted to build some abs and live a healthy lifestyle. So, she made it into her habit to go out and jog every morning. Today was no different, except for the fact that she was jogging at a higher speed than she normally does because she was a little nervous about the first day of the office. Her mind was full of what ifs...

What if I got stuck in traffic and became late today?

What if I made a mistake in office?

What if I get fired because of that mistake?

What if I make an enemy out of all my colleagues?

What if all my colleagues hate me?

What if my clothes were unprofessional for that setting?

What if....

To clear her mind of these useless fears, Maple went to youtube, and put on an inspirational lecture on her phone. This way, her mind could get cleared and she can focus on the present. After the lecture was over, she was much more relaxed than she was before but not completely. So, she put on upbeat music in her phone. She then began to repeat to herself. "One step at a time. It just needs one step at a time. Move forward just a step. Keep moving forward. Don't overthink things". These mantras were helping Maple regain her focus and dismiss her fears and nervousness.

She returned from her morning walk, and then took a long...long shower. She then put on her bathrob and walked towards her wardrobe. She was hesitant on choosing what to wear on her first day. Some what ifs? resurfaced in her mind again. To clear her mind, she took a deep breath in and deep breath out. She chose a standard suit--black jeans white shirt tucked in jeans and black coat--a look of perfect bodyguard. Maple thought it looked professional enough for an assistant though.

She stepped out from her room into dining room where her mom had prepared her a breakfast of omelet. She ate it blissfully with her fater and brother on dining table, one reading newspaper with crossed legs while the other playing games on phone respectively. Once, I was done eating, Maple's brother offered her to take her to the office. Her parents wished her luck and gave theor blessings.

Her brother dropped her off at the front of the hong building and reminded her to call him to pick her up later. She entered the building, walked straight to the elevator and went to get her ID card from the resource office. After taking her ID, she was now standing infront of Mr. Black's office. She knocked twice but there was no responce. Her uneasiness was raising with each passing second. On her third knock, the door opened, but there was no one behind the door. The room inside was extremely cold and dark. She wanted to turn and go away, but reluctantly she entered in.
