Wand was alerted as he woke up. He sensed three people standing outside the cave.
'One of them feels like the village leader. Looks like they found me.' Wand walked towards the entrance of the cave, still on guard.
"Who might you be?" Wand asked.
"I am the village leader of the village. You are from the Aurora Academy right?" The village leader saw the one striped Academy badge in Wand's chest.
"Yeah! I have been sent here by the Academy to investigate the death of a student."
"I thought The Academy usually doesn't send first-year students on such missions. Who are you?" A female guard with a spear sternly asked.
"Now Now, Linda. I am sure that badge isn't fake, the second year before also had a similar badge." Another male guard with a sword tied to his waist patted Linda's back.
"Don't Antagonize our guest, you two." The Village leader sharply looked at the duo.
"Excuse me for their rudeness, My name is Warren." The village leader —Warren— said.
"I am Wand, as you already know a first-year student at the Aurora Academy. The one who died was my friend, so the Academy permitted me to investigate the monster that killed him."
"That's good and all but why didn't you approach us? We would have helped you investigate instead of you having to kill monsters at night." Warren looked suspicious.
"Orders of the academy. I had to cause as little commotion as possible and return quickly." Wand coldly replied.
"Alright then! You look tired. Follow us to the main island and we will provide you with food and a room there."
Linda looked like she wanted to say something but pushed back her words.
"Also, How long will you investigate for?" Warren and the group started walking towards a shore.
"I will probably go back in about two days." Wand plainly replied.
"I see…"
After a bit of walking the group sat on a small wooden boat with only five seats. Linda picked up two paddles.
"Catch it, Karl" Linda threw one paddle to the other guard —Karl.
Wand could feel Linda and Karl looking at him suspiciously. The duo skillfully paddled the boat and reached the main island.
Getting out at the port, the group was greeted by a few fishermen. The group walked towards the back of the village towards the Village Leader's residency. Wand could feel the curious looks of the villagers along the way.
The Village Leader also seemed to have a good reputation as he was greeted by the villagers along the way.
"Son! This is Wand, our guest. He will sleep in the guest building for today. Send him to the room the previous group slept in." The village leader gestured to a man in his early 20s.
"Ok, father!"
"Wand, my son will lead you to the room. I will send someone with food to your room in a while." Warren politely said.
"Ok"
After Wand went away the village leader and two guards started walking towards the main building and went to the top floor of the building.
"Warren, that kid is clearly suspicious. Why did you let him enter the village." Linda inquired.
"Hey! Linda…" Karl tried to stop Linda.
"It's fine Karl. And Linda, you are right but we also can't deny the fact that his badge from the academy is real."
"But He doesn't even have any kind of paper to prove that the academy sent him. Even if he is from the academy, what if he hurts the villagers, or worse what if the academy is sending people to hunt us? My brother who issued the monster extermination mission is now nowhere to be found. He was also acting strangely the day before he died. What if the academy had messed with his mind to get a reason to come here" Linda refuted.
Warren narrowed his eyes and looked at Linda.
"Linda… the academy has no reason for such things. Although they hold significant power in the continent, we still are tied to Vidhiyan, the second most powerful country in the whole continent. You should take some time off, your mind must be stressed because of your brother."
"Maybe… you are right," Linda spoke softly. "But you still need to look into that kid,"
Warren smirked.
"Don't worry about that, Linda."

Wand sat on the bed in the room he had been escorted to. He used spatial sense.
'3 people just to check on me huh? Looks like the Village elder is really suspicious of me. How did he even find me?'
'I had my spatial sense on near the island and couldn't sense any human near me… Must be his ability!'
After a while, food arrived in his room. But Wand didn't eat it and teleported the food contents into the ocean. He opened a portal to his cave and quickly ate some coconuts.
Wand swiftly returned and after a while opened the door and went out to explore the village.
While walking a group of children approached him.
"Guest brother, guest brother! Can you use strong ability too!" One enthusiastic kid asked.
"I can!" Wand smiled.
"Hehe, Show us! Previous brothers and Sisters had alot of cooool abilities!" The kid pumped his fist.
"Hehe, Only if you tell if the Village Leader can do those cool abilities." Wand replied.
"Uncle Warren can make Water go zooop and zaam from his had. He is super cool!" The kid's eyes shined.
'Water manipulation huh? How did he find out about my location then!'
"I will show you my ability then, look!" Wand created a Unie barrier in his hand using his Genius level of Unie control.
"Huhhhhhhh, Not cool!" The kids all ran away.
'Weird.' Wand didn't put much thought into it.
