Chapter 7 - CHAPTER 7: EXP Stealer of Lullaby Forest

Megumi finally come back to the city to sell the gems she got. After a long time not coming back in the city, she doesn't know that she already makes a name among the player. Not a good one though. Beware of the healer in the wild, she is 'EXP stealer of Lullaby Forest'—really suits for what she did. And since –maybe– in the entire Celestia World, Megumi is the only one healer until this time, they won't blame the wrong person with this tittle. Well, Megumi doesn't care. That's better than rabbit killer, sounds more badass.

It's already dark outside. Megumi, who was in her room at one of the inns decides to come down to have dinner. It's dinner time already, so there are few players already there to enjoy their dinner. Bustling sound of laughing and chatting in the restaurant can be heard from outside, but as Megumi stepped in, it suddenly became quieter. EXP Stealer of Lullaby Forest is coming, how can it's not become the center of attention? For gossip, of course. Good thing that the owner of this inn is NPC. They are programmed to treat all player the same, as their costumer. So, Megumi doesn't need to be worried to get kicked out as long as she became a good costumer.

There are 1 table empty in the corner of the room, and Megumi walk to sit there. A waitress greets her, and after Megumi gives her order, she leaves to get it. While waiting for food, someone suddenly approaching her. A brave knight, defender of justice seems wanna boast his fame by warding an evil healer like Megumi.

"Yoo, you've been great help last time, huh?" He said. It turned out he is one of her victims. Don't blame Megumi for not knowing her victims beside Ren. How can she bring herself to ask their name or even just to look at their face after she just stealing from them?

Megumi looked at the man, then turned her face towards the window as she doesn't care. Her reaction just makes the man get angrier. He slams the table, stealing everyone attention.

"You level up quite well, aren't you?" He continued, after looking that Megumi almost have the same level as him.

"So, what? What you gonna do? Oh, wait—lemme rephrase it. What can you do?" Megumi sneering. In Celestia, you can't attack a player. There's no PvP features yet. PvP or Player vs Player can only happen in guild war, but since this game is just started, then there is no guild yet. And that must be in special area too. Other than that area, no one can attack each other. The only one who can cast skill on others player is Healer. Healer is a support character after all. But of course, only buff skills that no harm can be casted to players.

Can't take the insult anymore, the knight unsheathes his great sword and slashing it to Megumi. It just the NPC waitress who scream for Megumi. Megumi can imagine, others player is cheering the knight instead. Megumi doesn't move, doesn't even change her expression, still smirking at the knight. As expected, a red hologram screen popped out at the knight.

Warning: Player attacks are currently disabled for safety reasons. Please refrain from engaging in combat with other players.

"I have enough of your words. Go and never show yourself in front of me except when I take your exp." Megumi said and in the split seconds, she cast a spell to the knight. "Teleportation". A skill that can send the target to a random place in the same region. In its advanced version, it can teleport to a specific place. But since Megumi just got this skill, she can only send the target to random place. Well, this is more than enough to remove that noisy person.

Of course, not accepting that their leader were treated like that, his party's member got up and were about to attack Megumi in reflexes. It's useless though. The same warning screen pop out in their screen. In the same time, Megumi cast the spell again to each of them. "Teleportation. Teleportation. Teleportation. Teleportation". Finally, the restaurant became silent. Megumi glared to other party in that room. "Does anyone else want to fight me like them?" she asked, her tone threatening. Even though they definitely resent Megumi more, they are wise enough not to attack rashly. They choose to leave the restaurant themselves.

Megumi sits back down again and waits for her food. She is in the middle of eating when the poor party finally come back. But because they leave without paying–even though they don't mean it, not only they get the penalty to pay 3 times the amount of the food they order, the NPC owner of the inn banned them from entering his inn anymore. That's really satisfying.

What happens last night were spread over just in one night. The next day, unfriendly looks show up in face of every player Megumi meet on the street. They must be so eager to kill Megumi. Sometimes, they even boldly ask her to stop playing, booing her whenever she went. Megumi never been a bullied victim in real life, but this must be how it feels. Is it make her uncomfortable then leave like what the other player want? Of course, no. It just makes her laugh louder, looking down at those who can't touch her.

But later, she finds it quite hard to levelling by stealing experience points anymore. They got her weakness, by letting mage to send the last hit. Magic skill have the greatest damage in VIEW, almost equally with Megumi's hit dozens of times.

"Hmph, just you wait…" grumbled Megumi, sit in one bench at the city park. The sky is so beautiful, such a contrast to Megumi's mood. While lamenting her fate, she heard a child's crying voice. Megumi is the only one in the park right now, how can there are a child's voice. That can't be a ghost too, since this is still broad daylight. She looks around to find the source of voice, and finally find a little girl squatting, hugging her legs while sobbing. She is clearly a NPC.

"What happens?" Megumi asked worriedly.

The little girl looked up, finding Megumi looking at her. "I fight with my Mom and run away from home" She replied still sobbing. WTF! This little girl clearly just around 5 years old or something. How can they make a NPC this real? Megumi can't help but sweatdropped.

Megumi lifted the child high, distracting her so she would stop crying, and smoothly carrying her in her hand to nearest bench. "Come on, tell this big sister what happened. Big sister will help you out" she said while walking.

In the real life, Megumi always quick to became friends with kids. She is like a magnet for kids, one of her ability in life. The little girl quickly attached to her, and finally agreed to go back home. Megumi gladly take her home. They chit chat and joking around. In no time, they finally arrived in front of this little girl's home. Her parents who worried sick, when looking at Megumi and their child, run straight to them. The mother hugging the little girl immediately, crying. The little girl also crying. Megumi can't help to feel happy for them too.

"Young hero, thank you so much for bringing our daughter back. It's not that much, but please accept this." The father thanked Megumi and give her a bag of gold and gems. Megumi declined it at first but finally accepted it after a notification screen just pop out.

Side quest completed: 'Return of the Village Head's Daughter'. You have successfully reunited the village head with his daughter. Please claim your reward.

After saying goodbye to the village head family, she walks away without any destination. She trying to process what just happens. She never heard about side quest in the review before. There's just main quest, issued from the Kingdom. It turned out that they just don't know because not like the usual RPG game, where there are exclamation mark above the NPC who gives you side quest, side quest in here is happens almost naturally. Its looks like a common event in real life. You don't know if it's a side quest or no if you don't finish it first. As expected of first AI oriented based game, lives up to its name.

"I got some EXP, gold and gems." She mumbled, holding the bag of her reward earlier. The amount of reward is almost the same with defeating monster, so even Megumi showing this fact to other player, definitely still no player gonna interested to do it. But for Megumi, this information is really helpful.

"Well, I don't have anything to do though. Let's do it."
