A woman's sweet voice sounded in her mind, making Nana regain consciousness. She was no longer in the capsule, but above the golden evening sky surrounded by big puffy clouds. Very beautiful view. In front of her there was a light, looks like a sun, the origin of the sound, but strangely, Nana didn't feel dazzled looking directly at that source of light.
"Please enter your name." The system said.
It turns out that it's still like role playing games in general, going into character making. Many gamers find this part is the most boring. But not for Nana. She is so excited to make her character.
Hmm… what name should I use? My real name? No no no. This is game! I can be anyone I want.
"Megumi" She shout it loud excitedly that's get typed automatically. (A/N: BGM played: You are my speciaaal~ #cough). She remember that Megumi means blessing in Japanese language, such a good name. A beep sounds indicating that the name has been successfully saved.
"Please select your gender." The system said.
"Wow, Can I really choose my gender? Man usually have more stamina and power than woman, right? Should I--"
"Sorry for interrupting, to answer your question is no. Stamina and power is determine by level. Not by gender" the system said before Nana finished her sentence.
"Well, then, if it the same, I will just choose female." She replied and another beep sounds indicating that the gender has been successfully saved.
Next one, a hologram screen appear in front of her, like a big mirror showing herself in full body. "Please create your appearance" The system said. This is what I wait the most!! Nana thought excitedly. She tried everything—literally everything that the system provides.
Is this what I look if I had bright, rosy white skin? Omg! I don't need a plastic surgery to get narrow jaw like beautiful actress in movie. Kyaa! I look cute if I have this round eyes! This almond eyes makes me looks gorgeous.
Long hair? Short hair? Straight? Curly? Omg! I can have this curly hair naturally without hours and hours curling my hair with curling iron? You're kidding me!
I never dyed my hair before, but maybe I should try after this. Which color suits me better? Hmmm...
I can even adjust my own voice!! La la laaa~~ I can be an opera singer with this voice. Ahahahaha

She really took a long loooooooong time in this character making. If system have a body, it surely will looks like a bored boyfriend who contemplating his life choice to accompany his girlfriend to go shopping, sit helplessly in front of changing room, waiting his girlfriend tried everything in the shop.
Another beep sounds indicating that the appearance has been successfully saved. Somehow, Nana can imagine inner system shouting "Finally!!" with face full of tears hearing that beep. A tall woman with fair skin, almond eyes—a typical Asian girl, but with long crimson red butterfly cut hair, this will be Megumi's appearance from now on. A stupid smiling face still covering her face after tasting a heaven's fruit for any girl in the world.
"New character has been made. Name: Megumi. Tittle: Apprentice. You received: 50 bottle of small healing potion, 10 resurrection leaf, 1 novice helmet, 1 novice gloves, 1 novice armor, 1 novice shoes, 1 novice dagger. You need to level up until level: 10, to get your job. You will be transferred to the training ground. Best of luck!" system said, and the light became brighter as to cover anything insight, and when it disappear, Megumi already be in a green fields as far as the eye can see. Many player already in there, slashing a…RABBIT?!
"NOO, WTF, HOW CAN YOU DO THIS, I NEED TO TALK TO THE MANAGER ! Eh, I mean… I NEED TO TALK TO THE DEVS!!!" Megumi shouted in frustration drive away a bunch of rabbits nearby. Of course what she did attracting the attention of nearby players who are hunting the rabbit. Some player, mostly woman were just giggling, and other were laughing at Megumi.
"Nana, is that you?" a young man's voice giggling appeared from beside Megumi. Megumi reflexively turned towards the direction of the voice, seeing a tall, handsome young man with blonde hair—okay, let's cross out the handsome part, because the faces provided by the system are all handsome and beautiful.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Now Megumi, right?" The young man quickly corrected himself, still smiling.
A happy smile suddenly bloomed on Megumi's face. "Jay! Wow, you use your real name in the game too," said Megumi, a little embarrassed, because she used a different name.
"Haha, I'm not good at coming up with names. I always use my real name in all the games I play," Jay replied, blushing slightly. "Wanna join my party?" Jay continued.
"Of course!" Megumi answered immediately. After Megumi joined the party, she realized that there were already 3 people in Jay's party before. This means she was the last person to join Jay's party (For your information, 1 party in this VIEW can only accommodate 5 player). Joining a party allows her to know the party members even in the sea of other people. The three of them got a notification too about someone who had just joined, and immediately came over to say hello.
"Hello, Megumi-chan. Nice to meet you." Said HanaHana, one of the party.
"Nice to meet you~" Said Melody.
The other one just give a little bow towards Megumi. From the name tag, she is Ren. They all looks so friendly and really are friendly. Other than Jay, everyone are girls in the party, so Megumi quickly get close with the other two—except Ren. Ren seems a shy person, focusing killing the rabbit, rarely talk.
Oh, right…
With face full of tears, Megumi slashing one by one rabbit to pool of blood. The gore scene quickly disappear like evaporated water though, but still…
"They are so cute. I don't want to kill the rabbit" Megumi still complaining with tears.
"Well, the positive side, maybe it's better than a scary monster?" Melody replied.
"Or gooey type with bad odor or something like that. That's so disgusting." HanaHana added.
"Both are bad too. Ahaha" Megumi replied. They laugh afterward. Megumi is the last one to come in training ground in their party. But everyone kindly stay and helping Megumi until she got level 10 like everyone else. After they're all reaching level 10, they go to the door to get their job checked.
"I still can't accept it. Why can't we choose job we like ourself?" HanaHana said while waiting their turn to get the job. Everyone agreed immediately.
"Well, technically, we can. We will get the job changing potion afterwards. You can use it if you don't want the job system give you." This time, Ren replied. "System decided our job based on our data in their database that they think suits us best. Just take it like a personality quiz." She then added.
"I hope I won't get the healer job." Melody mumbled.
In Celestia, there are 5 job: knight, archer, mage, assassin, and healer. Knight's damage isn't as great as archer or assassin, but it have a great endurance. Their bonus stats is strength and vitality. Archer and assassin is both have a great damage. While archer is specialized in ranged combat, assassin specialize in swift, deadly attacks. Archer's bonus stats is strength and dexterity, and assassin's bonus stats is strength and agility. Mage dealing the greatest damage than all other job with its magical skills, but have the lowest endurance than all other job as well. Their bonus stats is intelligence and dexterity. Lastly, healer is specialized in support skills like healing, curing poison, buff and debuff, etc. But they don't have any offensive skills that can deal great damage. Their bonus stats is intelligence and vitality.
Since Celestia's experience system is based on average damage output that character's dealing to a monster, healer always contributing the lowest experience points in a party. Healer skills can be replaced by potion or food too—especially for food, it taste good they said. That's why no one wants to be a healer. There are review from beta tester and even player that already play before, that having healer in a party reducing the experience that party get greatly. Not only contributing the lowest exp, but the lost in experience points if they died is divided to all party member too. Many player rejecting healer in their party, so usually those who got healer job choose to change their job.
It's finally Megumi's party's turn to get their job. Jay get knight job—that's quite obvious from his leadership in this small party, HanaHana and Melody both get mage job, Ren get assassin job, and Megumi get…
"A healer?!"
Megumi come out from the room depressed. She can feel everyone smile mockingly at her behind her back, except her party member. "It's okay, don't mind it. How about you try it first. You have us, as party member to support you. If later the review is proved to be true, you can change your job afterwards." Jay trying to cheer Megumi up.
"Yes, yes. We have 2 mage here. We won't lack experience to share with you" Melody added.
A faint smile finally showing in Megumi's face. She really lucky to have such a great party. Is it because she choose the name Megumi, that means blessing, so she get this much of blessing?
"Thank you, guys" Megumi smiled.
"Then, let's go grinding! The field in south of Eden city is perfect place for grinding for newbie like us." Jay said as he led the party to the south.
