"Our purpose? Parasites, by definition, are organisms that survive at the expense of others without causing death. For parasites, the host is the main habitat, so it is essential for us to depend on humans to survive, and to do so, we must control them."
Anton expected such a response, but still not getting what he wanted, he asked again, "What prevented you from fully controlling your victim? As far as I know, you've lived with her for a month without harming her. Does it have any other meaning?"
"None; I only survived thanks to her, and it would be too risky to try to change bodies, something I even doubt is possible." Heidi seemed calm talking to a clearly intelligent human.
"You're not as strong as I expected. In the food chain, you would only be an AAA, never reaching an S-class threat no matter how skilled you are in combat." Anton wanted to make it clear to the entity in Suin's head that she was not a danger to humans.
"Are there different beings like us?"
"It's not information you can get by reading or researching on the internet. You would never find such classified and real information so easily."
"That explains your strength..."
Anton shook his head and said, "I'm completely human, at least my genetic enhancements come from a family heritage that has been maintained since ancient times. If my ancestors were monsters, now we have evolved to be the best of humans and face creatures like you."
"I like you. You see the world differently from any other human and perfectly understand the path of the beginning. Tell me, human, what are our chances when facing your ultimate forces?"
"Your species has no chance of posing a problem. The one leading the parasites here knows this and that's why they haven't attacked since then."
Anton paused and extended his hand, showing the darkness that began to spread across the floor. "In a few weeks, X-ray cameras will be released, and we will be able to see who are parasites without needing to investigate their bloody crimes."
"That's what I feared. Humans are certainly a race familiar with war and uncontrolled extermination. You are fascinated by new things and won't rest until you exterminate the enemy. Even if we are strong, it only takes ten thousand humans to face a single parasite to wipe out my race."
Anton smiled slightly; this understanding was very radical but accurate. The real problem is that humans were not strong, not like they used to be. Now society has weakened to a point where they needed something like this to at least start preparing.
If things continue as they are, there will come a day when the truth is revealed.
"Would you help me exterminate your race? In return, I promise to protect you, the survival you're so desperately seeking." Anton just wanted to know what Heidi's response would be.
Heidi remained silent; she didn't know what answer to give right now. "I value my survival above all else, so I'll need more than just your word."
"My name is Anton ShadowBane, Cardinal of Light in the Light Association, and I give you my promise that I won't harm you if the information you provide is good. If you want to simply live several lives as you wish, Anton extended his hand to his chest, waiting for a response.
"I have information." Heidi closed her eyes and finally said, "I know a place where the parasites gather. What are you willing to exchange for that information?"
Anton snapped his fingers, and Jay approached with a smart tablet. "I assure you that we will not kill you; my promise is divine and subject to the will of my lord on this earth."
"Then look in this place..."
When Anton saw the slogan of the location, it was the same one the parasites had painted on the walls. He had investigated, and that location led to an isolated farm where it was very likely the parasites' nest.
When Anton knew this information, he gave a notice and prepared to exterminate the parasites at one single point. He wanted to order a complete airstrike but first wanted to determine the exact location.
