"How do you figure that out?"
Anton turned towards Lucy, who had arrived with her parasite elimination team, but didn't respond. "I have better tools and always tend to search in the right places. Aren't you getting ready?"
"Isn't your team using protection?"
"It's unnecessary; it just slows them down and gives a false sense of security." Anton picked up a long black sword that weighed around two hundred kilograms and placed it in one of the special sheaths.
All the agents Anton had called were hunters; many of them chose their own gear, which was quite different from one another. This intrigued Lucy, who was on the sidelines of this operation.
Walking to the front of everyone, Anton raised his gaze and said, "From now on, I'm in charge. I don't give a damn about your lives before or after this; my only interest is to eliminate these invaders in this area before I leave."
Everyone gathered, listened, and remained silent, waiting for orders.
"The police will be stationed on the roads and distant mountains and will prevent anything from passing, no matter the emergency. You are all authorized to shoot and kill if necessary. Keep everything that moves in check. Shoot first; ask questions later. If you don't do what I say, you'll most likely die. Remember my words well."
The police officers nodded, ran to their cars, and began to position themselves in designated areas. They all felt very inspired, as if, despite the fact that they might die, they would do so with great enthusiasm for being part of something much bigger than themselves.
Anton looked at Lucy and said, "Keep your agents around the farm; shoot anything that comes out of that place, whether they are parasites or not."
"Are you including yourself in that order?" Lucy didn't understand this command.
"You understood correctly. As far as we know, these parasites can take on the identity of any of us, so you will have to conduct a thorough check when we are done. If we refuse, you are authorized to kill us." Anton, who gave these orders, was very clear about his mission and the risks it might entail.
Lucy saw the fire burning in Anton's eyes, and she realized she was facing a man willing to sacrifice everything to eliminate the dark entities. "Understood, sir."
"Good luck."
As Anton watched the gray team agents walk away, he turned to look at his agents and hunters who had been called for this operation.
"We're here once again, ready to die or kill?"
"We're prepared, Cardinal."
Jay, who was in the death group, prayed to God not to die tonight. He was still sure that bombing the farm would be much better, but the evaluation that Anton had to carry out to classify the parasites officially was something that had to be done tonight.
The evaluation of a cardinal is extremely important for classifying an unknown dark entity. The way many dark entities were previously classified was by identifying their weaknesses, their combat behavior in groups, and their overall behavior.
To enable hunters in other parts of the world to eliminate the parasites that have invaded the earth, it is necessary to classify their weaknesses and tag their combat methods.
Anton had taken on the role of evaluator, and they were the death group. For many, belonging to the evaluator group of an unknown dark entity is a dream come true, while for others, it's a direct ticket to death.
"Then everyone will follow me, but not without entrusting yourselves to God's hands." Anton placed his hand on his chest and said, "In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, may the light illuminate this dark night, full of uncertainties, and reward us with victory."
"Amen."
