"My lord, I do not know what my fate will be in this world, but I only ask for a fair exit when the time comes. Like a cup full of red wine, I hope that my blood ends the world's burden."
"Let the righteous live by virtues and let the sinners drown in their judgments; help me drag the wicked and threaten their miserable lives, just as you did with mine on that occasion."
Anton's words echoed in a dark room; he was kneeling in front of his uniform, a silver cross sliding through his hands.
His will was being reinforced by the prayers he made to that god in whom he had so much trust. Nothing else mattered but his own faith; as long as he had it, nothing else mattered in this world.
In this life, he had discovered that, as long as he was strong-willed, there would be no creature he could not overcome in this world full of evil.
But in a way, as time passed, his will became weaker. His family had grown, and in a certain way, now it's not that he fears death, but he truly cares about living.
Before, he didn't care about dying at the hands of some dark creature; it seemed as if his death would be the end of his sentence for being a bad man in his past life. But now things had changed; he not only had a family, but he was also going to be a father, and that increased his desire to keep on living, something that didn't happen before.
When Anton finished his prayers, he walked to the back where others were also praying and said, "Brothers, my helpers, on this occasion, I want to bless you personally. We are not facing a dark entity; our enemy is different this time, but we must help. If a dark entity ends up merging with those things coming from space, then we would be facing a dark entity of mass destruction."
Anton's words piqued the interest of Rafael, Alexander, Jay, who wasn't exactly sure where he was, and several other highly esteemed individuals.
"Now, are you going to throw a blessing at us?" Jay whispered this quietly, but everyone heard it clearly.
Rafael's forehead vein almost exploded when he heard these words from the candidate he had selected to be the youngest follower under Anton's command, and he regretted it.
"Don't speak."
"Oh, I see, this is sacred."
Anton said nothing; there were certainly special people he had dealt with, and as long as they did their job well, there was no need to say anything to them.
"After all, we are still here; now we will face aliens. Are you sure of winning?" Anton asked Alexander, who had a serious expression.
"I am, Guardian."
Anton nodded and bestowed upon Alexander a blessing that would protect him from mental and soul attacks and, to some extent, heal him from physical wounds.
The adversities of life had brought everyone to one place; now they had reached a stage of battle that no one expected, and they were very nervous.
How do the higher-ups expect them to face aliens?
Anton had heard that certain governments were considering revealing the existence of these parasites, but the Association of Light was against this for many reasons, and if by any chance they revealed it, they would be absolutely absolved of the continuous protection of priests, hunters, exorcists, and field agents.
The chaos that would fall upon the world would not only be beneficial for dark entities but also for certain enemies who have remained in the shadows for a long time.
