Boom!
"Damn slippery beast!" Anton threw his sniper rifle after having destroyed the left arm of the Wolf Predator, which had stopped moving.
Now that this thing had decided to confront him, Anton would not shy away from a head-on combat with a dark entity, especially when he believed he was one of the men above the rest and thus had the right to protect the world.
Not being a superhero, Anton, who had committed more sins than virtues, stood firm against the Predator, which kept a dagger open above its wrist.
"May your sword crack and break!" Anton had always wanted to say this to someone but never had the chance until now, facing something superior to a human.
Crack!
The predator advanced towards Anton without any fear, its speed increasing, causing him to raise his defenses.
Anton did not boast of being a good combatant with melee weapons; he mostly killed monsters that did not have normal vital signs, but now it was different. Not only did he have a giant alien in front of him, but it also had vital signs similar to a human's.
Roarrr!
Clang!
Anton's long sword clashed forcefully against the wrist knife of the Wolf Predator, which was perhaps twice his size. The strong impact created sparks, and Anton even had to step back, feeling the force of the push.
But he had to increase his speed; this was the only way to eliminate this enormous creature that, although strong, was not as fast, and that could be an advantage.
Feeling his sword clashing against the blade of his enemy's sword, his hand trembled, but to the Predator's surprise, its strength was not greater than the human in front of it.
Anton exchanged a series of blows, but at a certain point, his sword cut several parts of his enemy's body, and vice versa.
But at that instant, a kick came out of nowhere, impacting Anton's ribs, who in turn drove his sword into the Predator's shoulder, which let out a roar of pain from the severe wound.
"Faster, idiot..." Anton didn't need to see in the dark to know clearly where his enemy was.
Instantly, he had to stand up; the Predator was a giant that grabbed him by the chest and threw him against a tree trunk, trying to crush his bones. It was a pity Anton was stronger than usual—a biological change that no one else knew about.
When he stood up, slightly dazed, Anton saw a knife's blade approaching him, so he reinforced his hand with darkness and held it before it could pierce his body.
Crack!
Anton was lifted off the ground as if he weighed nothing, and the knife's blade was pushed towards his chest with force but couldn't advance much.
"There's no honor in death, and I won't die at the hands of an alien!" Anton aimed at the predator's neck and fired numerous times from his wrist.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The huge predator's head exploded repeatedly, finishing him off faster than he had expected. What gave him the advantage was that this predator did not carry weapons, and he had already damaged its right arm.
"I expected something more intense." Anton looked at the Wolf Predator's corpse and took a deep breath, feeling the forest breeze.
The sounds became more vivid as he felt his surroundings more intensely, and as the adrenaline left his body, he felt the real pain he had suffered from the enemy's impacts and took a deep breath.
Surely, he was the first human to come out with fewer injuries after facing a predator, but this certainly meant nothing to him, who had to face really concerning things day by day.
Taking his cell phone, Anton immediately contacted the team that was in the air for the extraction of this eliminated target. At the same time, looking at the reward his body had obtained, he felt increasingly empowered.
"Good, I'm near the alien ship, so I'll go check it out." Anton knew there were two objectives here; of course, they needed to have everything this new technology was offering them.
