Bang! Bang! Bang!
The continuous shots from an anti-tank sniper rifle resounded like a series of explosions throughout the otherwise extremely quiet community.
Everyone quickly approaching to support Anton was stunned by those shots.
"What kind of weapon can make a sound like that? It's impossible for that thing to let him fire so many times without killing him; how do we know he hasn't already finished the job?"
"Our mission is to capture the specimen; do not shoot to kill." Quinn, as an experienced captain, issued orders to prevent these soldiers from making a mistake.
Casey, the scientist interested in the Predator, said, "Although they are stronger, they can die from a headshot. Just avoid hitting the defenses, and there won't be a problem subduing it."
"Is that thing going to let itself be captured?" Gaylord wasn't sure this would end well.
"He'll empty the magazine on that thing; trying to capture it would be suicide."
Casey knew this man was right. Trying to capture the predator alive was foolish after witnessing how easily it killed dozens of soldiers. They didn't have many options; they had to kill the predator.
Akira remained nervous; she could hear the shots getting closer and then saw Anton running down the street, heading deeper into the forest.
"Holy mother of God, is that your comrade?"
"He's a monster too." Baxley murmured these words weakly, earning Akira's anger as she was driving.
But Casey, more aware of the world than most people, saw the symbol on Anton's clothes, who was shooting at something they couldn't see, and realized he was actually a Guardian Archbishop.
"He's a Guardian..."
Gaylord looked at Casey and asked, "Do you know who these people are?"
"Have you heard of a private military department called S.C.G.?" Casey waited for someone to respond.
"That crap? They offered me to join them; I didn't think they'd actually get me out of jail." Gaylord couldn't imagine Anton being from that private division.
But Casey's next words left everyone silent. "Well, above them is the Light Association, and they protect the world from anything that threatens society as we know it."
"Alien attacks, werewolves, things you know as vampires... That's just the tip of what S.C.G. people face daily." Casey, as a scientist, had helped in many investigations, but this one had far exceeded everything she believed possible.
Akira accelerated, saw a figure on the ground not far from them, and assumed it was their target. "Make a perimeter around the predator. If it moves too much, you can kill it, but if it doesn't, wait for the S.C.G. agents to arrive."
Without waiting for a response, Akira put on her headset and contacted Anton as several drones flew towards where he had rushed.
"Anton, what are you doing?"
"Zz... Hunting."
Anton's words were brief; he couldn't waste time talking nonsense as he needed the air to maintain his speed at all times.
"You can't go after the predator; it will lead you into a trap." Akira was harsher this time; she had to trust Anton, but she didn't want to this time for fear that he would get more than hurt.
"Zz... The support team is arriving; don't forget there's also a team in the area I'm heading to, so we'll meet later."
"Hey, bow lady, what do we do with this thing on the ground?" Gaylord pointed at the wounded predator while waiting for answers.
Quinn had seen Anton disappear without a trace; it wasn't that he had the chance to follow him, but it was still amazing how fast Anton was running.
"Stay away from it; remember, it can kill us at any moment."
At the same time, a convoy of helicopters could be heard in the distance, and in less time than they could notice, a squadron of well-equipped soldiers descended to take the Predator into custody.
"Zz... Ten full squads, what are your orders?"
Akira immediately reported the dark entities they had eliminated and sent the rest to where Anton was now.
