"Is that sh*t a damn lion?"
Gaylord was looking at Quinn, who was arguing with his wife, but when he heard Coyle's stupid question, he turned and asked, "Do you think there are lions in this damn part of the country?"
"It was just a guess."
"That's why guesses are left to smart people."
Baxley muttered, "I'd like to bite his ass."
Casey, the scientist who had been saved by the group of fugitive soldiers, slowly opened her eyes and saw Baxley while hearing those words.
"Oh my God, Quinn, the scientist woke up."
Quinn, who was arguing with his wife while the others searched the entire house from top to bottom, saw Casey wake up. "Hello, scientist Casey, there's no need to alarm yourself."
"Where am I?"
"You're in my house; we brought you here after you fell unconscious while we were fleeing from that thing." Lynch replied as he held a jar of pickles.
Casey wanted to run, but she realized Emily was in the same group as these people, so she didn't feel as alarmed.
"Who are you?"
"We are soldiers and the ones who saved your life. Now, if you'll excuse us, we have to flee to a place where the police can't find us." Gaylord finished smoking his cigarette and was about to leave the house when suddenly a gunshot was heard.
Bang!
But that gunshot wasn't an ordinary one; it was from an anti-tank sniper rifle and sounded not far from where they were.
"What the hell was that?"
Quinn looked towards the door and muttered, "We have to get out of here."
But as soon as they opened the door, a huge creature similar to a dog with crests appeared on top of the van they had arrived in and was sniffing something.
"Damn, is that thing tracking us?"
"It's an alien tracker."
Quinn had taken the rifle that was attached to his wall, but just as he was about to step out to shoot, an explosion was heard further away.
Boom!
The shockwave set off alarms on several vehicles, and just as he was about to tell the others to flee through the back door, that alien dog that had spotted them received several arrow hits.
Crack! Crack! Crack!
Those arrows were anything but ordinary because they hit the alien dog's weak spots, and a few seconds later, they exploded, causing the dog to fly into pieces.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
"Damn it, where the hell did that Robin Hood come from?"
Quinn watched as a woman with Asian features came out from the other side of the street while holding a bow. She approached the alien dog, and as soon as she saw it, she reported, "Target eliminated; these trackers are looking for Sergeant Quinn."
Emily immediately recognized the woman and muttered, "She's the one who took the objects they were looking for."
"What?"
"So, what is she doing here?"
Quinn looked at Akira, who was approaching, and muttered, "I think we'll find out."
"Sergeant Quinn McKenna, officers Gaylord, Baxley, Coyle, Sean, Lynch, and Sapir, your immediate assistance is requested to eliminate dark entities under code command 67-Cobalt-1739." Akira had obtained profiles of those who escaped with Quinn, so knowing their histories, they were perfect candidates to replace the S.C.G. agents who hadn't arrived yet.
But as soon as she said this, everyone fell silent, not knowing how to respond.
"Excuse me, Lady, we are not on duty."
Akira looked at the black man and said, "I don't give a damn about your criminal record; what matters is eliminating the predator heading towards us."
"Us?"
"I don't think you need help with what you just did."
Many agreed with those words, but Quinn, who knew what Akira was facing, agreed and said, "Where are we going?"
"To the school, we'll receive support there."
Before leaving, Quinn said, "This fight is not just for us but for the world; whether they are cowards is another matter."
Coyle looked at Emily and asked, "Did your husband just call us cowards?"
"Yes, that's what he said..."
"Damn it, not even my father called me a coward when I told him my sexual orientation was undefined. Of course, that same day, he took me to a brothel, and I experienced the wonders of life."
Casey looked at these soldiers, who seemed to have serious mental issues, and followed Akira, who was walking away, without saying a word.
"Damn it, I wanted to escape before facing something like that."
Quinn reached the van Akira had used and asked, "Do you have weapons?"
"In the back trunk, use whatever you find convenient." Akira looked through the rearview mirror as each of those soldiers approached to take weapons and respected their decision.
