Chapter 256 - How Does a Beast Behave?

"Zz... Entering the facility."

Boom!

A chain explosion shattered the windows and doors as an elite commando entered to eliminate those who opposed them. Those who surrendered would be put into confinement, giving them the opportunity to learn more about themselves.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

"Zz... We encountered human resistance; a tactical team has been deployed for intervention."

Through the soldiers' cameras and the security of the building being intervened, Anton watched a tactical team of agents face off against the S.C.G., who responded more forcefully to the enemy aggression.

"Eliminate them all, send in the explosive drones, and keep advancing."

"Zz... Understood!"

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Everyone watched as the group was exterminated after being hit by the drones. But this was not enough, as once they entered the first floor, they were met with another response group, which stopped the S.C.G.

"Who are those people?" Dean approached Anton to learn more about them.

Anton looked at those men with the black clover insignia and said, "A few weeks ago, I was assigned a rather special exorcism mission. The woman who had died returned as a vengeful spirit, but later we realized it was bigger than it seemed."

Akira, who was watching the battle's outcome, wanted to go support her group, but without Anton's orders, she couldn't do much.

"We tracked the events that led to that old woman's death and discovered a sect related to the Black Clover organization." Anton looked at Sam, who was watching the numerous deaths being broadcast on the screens.

"What did you do with those people?"

Anton didn't respond immediately but pointed out, "Between what we can and cannot understand, there is black magic. This is a method that connects the living with the underworld, bringing chaos and destruction from the depths of darkness to the human world."

"Let me ask you something: What do you do when a group of people in a community don't value life? More precisely, what do you do when those people betray humanity?"

Dean simply said, "They are eliminated."

"You always seek to eliminate..."

Anton looked at Sam and said, "Belief is the most important value in life; without it, we are no different from animals. If someone with faith in something that drives them and gives their life meaning gets into trouble, there's nothing in the world that can move them more than death."

In these conditions, Anton didn't need to question the reason; they simply had to eliminate those who ceased to be humans.

"You must be aware that the barrier between the underworld and the human world has been weakening over the years. Now it is easier for a demon to create a portal to the underworld to bring their army into the human world."

Anton recalled all those events and said, "Sometimes we have no choice but to take the easy path. Unlike you, the world needs me... I don't do it to be a hero; I do it to secure my damn future, and everyone else's here."

"Zz... We've managed to enter the prisons, but one is empty."

"Find them!"

Akira immediately asked, "Are we too late?"

"Some probably escaped while we were attacking." Anton walked towards the large screen, where a special team was reviewing the security cameras.

But at that moment, from the radios of the S.C.G. agents who had entered the Black Clover organization's facility, a human roar similar to that of a beast was heard.

That roar was not normal at all; several voices could be perceived coming from that roar, as if countless people were trapped in one body.

"I need a report!" Anton sharpened his hearing to understand what it was.

"It seems like a werewolf." Sam approached, equally concerned.

"Silence!"

"Zz... It's a very muscular, strong, and quite fast man."

Bang! Bang! Bang!

"Ahhhhh!"

In the images from the agents' personal cameras, a man was seen tossing soldiers like sacks of wool. His muscles twisted, and his strength seemed abnormal for a human.

"Zz. We have no vision."

Anton furrowed his brows, walked to a shelf where there were all kinds of weapons, and took a black knife, which he tied to his waist.

"I'll go with you." Akira was about to leave with Anton when he stopped her.

"Someone must stay in the truck. I'll leave that to you."

Akira remained silent, stepped back, and turned to the cameras. "I need a microphone."

Unlike any other woman, she trusted Anton and believed in him completely, so there was no need to underestimate his abilities in front of others.

"Should we help them?" Sam asked his brother, genuinely concerned.

Dean refused, seeing no need, knowing Anton was taking the initiative on his own. "Let's stay put. If things go wrong, we'll move."

"Understood, brother."
