In 1895, to be more specific, at a Universal Exhibition in Paris.
Even before the exhibition began, a new invention had already surpassed all crowd expectations and had become the focus of worldwide attention.
The overwhelming amount of prior information had promoted it to the point of being divine.
It is said to be a groundbreaking invention that can record the reflected image of reality and present it before people's eyes, as well as preserve that moment of time and space forever for repeated observation.
But at that moment, when everyone was celebrating, a dark entity arrived and eliminated people from the place, causing a great massacre. The deaths counted were countless, and no one knew exactly what had attacked them.
Everything was concealed and ultimately classified as a terrorist attack, but those who were there that night said it was not the work of a human.
The history of each country is very different in appearance and nature. In England, people are often victims of werewolves or vampires; in China, there are things called Ghouls; and in the United States, they often face Wendigos.
Anton woke up after a good night's sleep; the situation in Barcelona had been controlled, so as planned, he would leave this country as soon as possible.
But at that moment, Alexander, who was aware of the logistics, approached the table where Anton was having breakfast with a file.
"What's this?" Anton looked at the folder of documents and asked Alexander, since he had no idea.
Alexander opened the folder and said, "There's a new case we've been asked to help with."
"A man claiming to have spiders in his head?" Anton looked at the initial records and asked with some disbelief.
"That's correct..."
"So?"
"They want an archbishop to take charge of reviewing and determining if it's really a curse... No one believed this man named Rubén, but on one occasion, he really pulled small spiders out of his nose and claimed the largest spider was in his head."
Alexander was fascinated by this dark entity because it most likely isn't a cursed creature but a supernatural one.
These creatures, similar to vampires or werewolves, are undetectable by the way the Light Association detects malicious beings in their victims' bodies.
For this reason, the association in this place asked for an archbishop's help because the Guardian Bishop couldn't find anything in that man.
Anton nodded in understanding; he could look closely at this case, but something told him it was mental issues. "One more question: why do they want to pay so much attention to this case that probably has a mental disorder?"
"Maybe because he pulled spiders out of his nose; some doctors did it, and they reported this problem to the Light Association." Alexander was also very confused but responded according to the report.
Upon hearing this, Anton ate enough to regain energy, so he stood up, looked around, and said, "Just the two of us; tell Rafael to take care of finishing the reports to return in the afternoon."
"I'll inform him right away!"
When Anton saw Alexander off, he lit a cigarette and thought it had less than a 20% chance of being a false alarm.
"Well, I could help him with his problem at the cost of some punches." Anton remembered that time when a man who loved living on the street even though he had a home, family, and money screamed that he had the devil inside his body, so to relieve those problems, he dunked his head in holy water.
Effective methods require tough situations.
After finishing everything required, Anton left the house he was in; the news only talked about what had happened lately with the martial law and what provoked it.
But until the world knew the truth, all governments would know the most effective and accurate way to defend themselves.
"Have there been any important cases in the world?" Anton asked, sitting in the passenger seat.
Alexander, who was driving, shook his head, but then remembered something: "It is said that a hunter named Kiran found a very special cave; they say a demonic ritual was performed there, but luckily it was interrupted."
"Is Kiran that famous detective hunter?" Anton remembered that this man was very effective at hunting supernatural things.
"He's incredible, sir; he's a very impressive hunter."
