Chapter 192 - Spiders in the Head

In a village far from the center of Barcelona, there was a humble house where an adult man named Rubén lived. He was very famous for telling everyone that he had spiders in his head.

Rubén went to hospitals from the smallest to the largest, and they all told him the same thing: there were no spiders in his head.

But one day, a doctor pulled spiders out of his nose—maybe a dozen spiders—and since then, many believed he was telling the truth. Of course, no one considered that Rubén might have put those spiders in his nose due to a mental problem.

Who in their right mind would put live spiders in their nose?

The problem here is that Rubén was not in his right mind; perhaps no one considered thinking about that.

In the late afternoon, the weather was quite gloomy in this part, and it seemed like there were signs that it would rain.

The cold wind howled, and the vegetation around it trembled. When Anton got out of the car, many of the children who were playing looked at him, and for some reason, none of them said anything.

"Kids, do you know where Mr. Rubén's house is?" Anton approached the children, who seemed to fear him, and asked openly.

"Are you a doctor?"

"I don't think he's a doctor; he looks like a killer."

"I heard that many debt collectors are looking for Mr. Rubén for money; surely, he's also a bad man."

"What should we do?"

"Look, it seems like he's listening to us."

Anton smiled; his smile didn't disappear, but the vein on his forehead became more prominent, indicating to Alexander that he was getting impatient with these children.

"He's a doctor; he's here to cure Mr. Rubén, so it would be very helpful if you told us where he lives." Alexander, meanwhile, was surveying the area to find out where that man lived.

Things tend to be more confusing in a different country, but when the children heard that Anton was a doctor and that he was coming to help Mr. Rubén, their demeanor changed.

"It's right there!" A girl pointed to a specific house.

"Why are you telling him where he lives?"

"He's a doctor!"

"How do you know that?"

"How could I not know?"

Anton walked away to the house they had pointed out, ignoring the children. Looking around, he noticed nothing supernatural, so he entered the house directly.

Inside, one could see dirt, dust, and a lot of garbage, as if this place hadn't been cleaned in years.

"There!"

At that moment, Anton stopped when he heard a groan of pain in the courtyard of this house. When he walked towards that place, he saw Rubén hitting himself on the head.

"Are you okay?" Anton didn't approach directly as a precaution.

Rubén, who had heard footsteps, looked up and said, "You're that doctor they mentioned... You can do whatever you want; surely you won't find anything either."

Anton approached a wooden bench and sat down. From the moment he entered, he didn't feel any malicious presence of any kind, and from that moment on, he was sure it wasn't a dark entity.

He initially wanted to refuse the request, but he also wanted Alexander to understand that not all cases they were called to were related to a supernatural entity.

"Does it hurt a lot?"

Rubén, who hadn't stopped hitting his head in a not-so-strong manner, said, "It's like they're eating my brain; I can't bear it."

"So, how do you relieve the pain?" Anton looked up and saw Rubén's miserable condition; no person should live in those conditions.

"With hits, medications I put in through the mouth, nose, and ears..."

Alexander had arrived. He looked at Rubén and then glanced at Anton, silently asking what he had discovered.

"Alright, let me ask you something else: why did you put those spiders in your nose?" Anton stood up and walked to hold Rubén's head, who kept hitting himself.

"No..."

"I'm not lying."

Rubén started hitting his head harder, but at that moment, Anton held him, and after using his divine energy, he made Rubén unconscious with a touch of his forehead.

"Sir, do you believe..."

Anton stood up and said, "Take that man inside the house; his problem comes from the mind, so he'll be fine when it's all over."

"In that case, there's no supernatural entity." Alexander entered the house, carrying the old man.

Rubén had put the spiders in his nose by his own decision and unconsciously; perhaps he had some kind of trauma that Anton wanted to eliminate with the best sleep that man would ever have in his life.

He had used enough divine energy to make Rubén sleep for the rest of the day; when he wakes up, surely all those problems will end.

"When I was an exorcist, I came across many cases that didn't require any help; their problem came from the mind, so there's little we can do in those cases." Anton said, putting on leather gloves.

Alexander came out and said, "What did you do?"

"I injected him with a special drug that will make him sleep very well; he'll wake up feeling new, so I hope he can recover." Anton looked at the old man one last time before leaving.

They had to return after retrieving important data that the Vatican had been hiding, so they needed to return as soon as possible.

Once they left this place, the children who had been hiding said, "They're witches!"

"Shhhh!"

"I'm going home."
