Chereads / Priest, Pray For Us / Chapter 176 - The Confusion

Chapter 176 - The Confusion

"Who are all of you?" A police officer approached, aiming his gun. He had blood on his head, likely injured in some accident.

"Lower your weapon now!"

"You bastards, what are you doing to these people?"

Anton could clearly feel the fear in that policeman, so he approached without any fear. His suit was completely prepared to withstand gunshots, so as the leader, he approached to solve this minor inconvenience.

"We are the Association of Light; lower your weapon," Anton said calmly.

Anyone informed about a dark entity, with knowledge of what's happening in the world, would know who the Association of Light was.

"You should have come earlier." The policeman muttered as he lowered his gun.

"Evil has been unleashed in this town; you are in danger, so you will be evacuated with the civilians who have not been marked." Anton approached the policeman and handed him a silver cross.

When the policeman heard that evil had been unleashed, his legs trembled. Everyone who has lived here since childhood knows exactly what Anton meant by evil being unleashed. That means many will die, rumors will spread, and this town will immediately become a ghost town.

"This can't be..."

"How did such a thing happen?"

These people knew what evil was.

Anton thought about this as he remembered the history of this town and the special reason why there were many exorcisms here. Towns with history tend to have greater knowledge about dark entities due to their rich history; they knew perfectly well what exorcist priests did.

"Calm down! Calm down! Calm down!" The police officer began to tremble as he heard all those screams.

Anton watched as another squad arrived at this place. Now the cleaners would take care of blessing this place and keeping it free of dark entities. While those who were well were moved to safe areas, Anton prepared to confront that demon named Oleg.

He didn't know who Oleg was; he had never heard of him before. But what Anton knew was that he was apparently a very powerful demon who would cause him a lot of trouble.

After controlling the community, Anton walked to a vehicle to replenish his ammunition. Everyone else knew what to do.

"What do we do?" Rafael looked at all the victims and knew that the situation was now untenable.

"Hunt and eliminate!" Anton said it convincingly.

"Hunt? Eliminate the demon." Rafael understood that this was the best course of action. Obviously, they would have to make many sacrifices to achieve something like that. One wrong step, and it would be certain death for any of them. And Anton surely had no intention of dying here.

But he had a mission: to eliminate as much evil as possible and ensure the safety of those who had not been tainted by darkness. Those who were inherently more evil were the easiest to possess; those with good hearts could not be bothered.

Doing good deeds could protect people's souls; doing the right thing, after all, had its benefits that many didn't know about.

"Let's move out!" Anton shouted, holding a shotgun this time.

"Understood, sir!"

"Let's head to the town center; we'll likely encounter greater resistance there." Alexander informed the squadron captains to keep them informed.

Anton sat in the co-driver's seat, looked ahead, and turned up the radio volume.

"Zz... We have high resistance on the north side; multiple victims have been taken down."

"Zz... The south side has been secured, evacuating those not contaminated by darkness."

"Zz... no survivors found on the west side, moving into deeper areas."

"They will be waiting for us." Anton murmured these words as he looked at Rafael, who was driving this time.

"We are entering the town center; the other areas have been evacuated, so only this place remains!"

"Keep your eyes wide open!"

Anton saw a thick fog that obscured his vision; he couldn't see beyond what the others were looking at, but unlike others, he could feel.

"Get ready!"

Brrraa!

But at that moment, a car next to Anton crashed into them.

The impact wasn't severe, but it did its job of stopping the convoy. At that moment, Anton, who was on the other side of the impact, turned around. "Get out now; shoot at anything that intends to attack us."

At midday, the sky was completely cloudy, giving a gloomy feeling to the surroundings.

Crack!

Anton stopped, looked beyond where there was smoke, and the ground began to tremble.

Alexander, who was next to him, murmured, "There are hundreds..."

Ahead, hundreds of people began running in their direction. All of them had bloodshot eyes, indicating they had long since ceased to be alive.

"Establish the perimeter; don't be afraid!"

"Arghhhhh!"
