Chapter 37 - Chapter 35: REUNION II.

The following day, Sharaletta and her team members began their move toward the gigantic mountain that held their second Heartlin Stone. The team moves swiftly through the thick and mighty wind, snow, and ice. Sharaletta grumbled and mainly complained in her mind; the temptation to park the ship up the mountain was firm on her. Eventually, the team passed through the town, continued their movement toward the hill, and arrived at the elevator at the mountain entrance around 12:52 am. The team then arrived at the top of the giant mountain, and the tourists then evacuated out of the mountain monuments. Sharaletta and her team then were allowed access to the cave inside that led to the heart of the mountain, "Aight evrvbody, we here finally. Let's stay on our toes for this one and ensure we cover each other's back, ya hear me? This will be tricky since we're digging deep into the mountain, so everybody needs to work together. Am I Clear?" Sharahletta proudly gave orders and commands over them. The Knights then began venturing through the cave, and their hunt for the stone began; now behind them was the sneaky and clever Lewis Gordan. Lewis had slipped through the security and killed the guards holding down the elevator entrance, "Now, knights, I can't have you keeping the stone for your selfish selves."

Lewis whispered under his voice behind the knights. Lewis hid behind a tall statue as he watched Sharaletta and her team enter through the cave's mouth. He called for Mikalah and ordered her, "Mikalah, come in; I need you to stay back from me while I slip in to steal it from them. Once they come flying out, you take care of them from there on out. Copy that?" Mikalah summoned her sniper gun and kept a beam out on the mountain until she was alarmed, "Yeah, sure, whatever. I could handle this my way if I could." She replied confidently to him. Back to Sharaletta's team, the team crushes through the dark but beautiful cave, filled with many crystals, diamonds, and other minerals that could only be found in the cave. They burst and slashed through the obstacles that blocked them from reaching their destination; eventually, the knights found a dead end, which left them doubting about the stone locator they followed. Sharaletta reset the device and powered it on again in hopes it would redirect their path; unfortunately, it only showed the exact directions to the stone once more. Sharaletta became irked and hit the device out of frustration; Toronto then stopped her anger and attempted to find a better path for them on the tracking device.

"Maybe it's above or below us. We probably need to figure that out first before we make any decision. No need in hitting the device; it'll only make our path worse." Toronto consoled her calmly. The team then looks around for any options that could reveal to them their path to take, Tesakai searches the room, but then feels a small crack on the floor and then observes it closely. "(Hmm, this crack on the floor seems very small, but it seems like it could potentially still break on touch. I wonder.)" Tesakai thought in his mind. Sesakayla then walks over to check out the discovery he had found, she then thinks of what Tesakai thought about and asked him, "You thinking what I'm thinking too?" Tesakai nodded his head to her in agreement, and then Sesakayla offered a solution to Sharaletta and discussed the possible outcome of her decision. The two, after a while, agreed to puncture the crack in the floor to open up a path for them, Sesakayla then drove her fist into the floor and fractured the small crack, making the it break open. It then began to break near them and swallowed them whole; the team was thrown into a massive room. When they had been introduced to the stone they searched for, "Evrybody, LOOK! It's the stone; let's hurry and grab it." Sharaletta commanded them loudly. The team rushes through the thick snow they collapsed on and reaches the stones' altar, and Sharaletta walks up to the stand on which the stone is concealed. She reaches in slowly, grabs the stone with her clothes covering her hand, and pulls away from the stand. "Well, everybody, we just got another Heartlin stone. We should be proud of ourselves now; let's get on outta here before something jumps at us."

She told them about this and ordered an escape out. But then suddenly, the wall behind them exploded and flew straight into them; shattered ice cycles and crystals flew into them. Thus, behind the explosion was Lewis Gordan, "It sure is a pleasure to meet you again, Sharaletta. Why woulda look at that, you fetched my stone for me, how generous of you." Lewis stated before them all with arrogance and pride. While stunned at his unexpecting entrance, Sharaletta then looks to her side and is horrified at Akaio's injury, Akaio cried aloud in agony with her blood spilling severely. Akaio's leg was punctured with a dangerously sharp ice pick, and she was staggering on the floor in anguish as the others looked over and were disturbed by her injury. "AKAIO!!! NO!" Sesakayla screamed in fear. She then rushes over to her, likewise Aaron. Akaio cried and shook while blood gushed out from her leg, fear, and anxiety swallowed her heart as her blood leaked out critically.

Sharaletta looked back at Lewis in fury, "You dare hurt my friend; YOU GONNA PAY, YOU FREAK!" Sharaletta roared furiously. Lewis floated in the room with the help of his tech legs, and he engaged his weapon system with his aim directed at everyone all at once. Toronto and Tesakai stood against the storm with Sharaletta and charged in all together at Lewis, with the anger and will to avenge their comm rad Akaio. "How funny of you three, thinking there's hope for you all. How pitiful and woeful of you knights to stand against the odds." Lewis stated against them boldly. Sharaletta charged in and slashed through the mechanical legs and arms. There were dozens of mechanical guns, A.I. drones, war machine torrents, and claws that filled the entire cave room. Akaio's protective shield remained on our heroes, even when stuck in a tough situation, she keeps her best up for them.

"Akaio, listen to me; this ice pick isn't going anywhere now. Aaron will get you out of here, and you and him will get somewhere safe. Just understand that it will be okay, and we'll get out of this. Stay Strong!" Sesakayla assures Akaio that she is in distress while commanding Aaron to escape. Aaron then grabs Akaio and lifts her while searching for an escape out of the room; he then looks up and notices the giant hole that he and everyone fell in before. He then rushes over toward an ice pillar, avoiding the gun bullets from the drones and machine torrents; however, his only problem becomes an obstacle, preventing him from reaching the hole above them without being caught. "(Dang! With all the bullets and battle going on, It's almost impossible for me to escape out of here without being caught. I'm sure this guy isn't entirely stupid to bypass us)." Aaron thought to himself while struggling to maneuver through the chaos. Akaio then coughs up blood while struggling to stand; she then attempts to tell Aaron, "A- *cough*-aron, up *cough* there. Move..., toward tha-*cough*-t slope over there, and jump." When his moment was perfect and precise, he rushed over to the slope while Lewis was distracted by Sharaletta and with the turrets aimed away from them. He then reaches the slope safely with Akaio; however, after they have reached the hill with their only exit visible, a drone spots them and tracks them. Aaron then smashed the ice pillar next to him and sent the pillar of ice tumbling down on multiple drones and turrets, securing their exit and escaping route.

"Hang on, Akaio, this may be a little bumpy for you; here We Go," Aaron exclaimed to Akaio while charging his jump for the exit. He then charged to his maximum limit and jumped into the hole in which they fell; before he reached the grip of the ledge, he threw Akaio above the hole to protect her from colliding with objects surrounding them. She was thrown onto the floor above them and awaited Aaron's arrival. He reached the floor, grabbed her, and rushed through the ice cave. Many ice crystals were falling from the ceiling, and many icicles dropped from the ceiling. Many other obstacles attempted to stop our two heroes from escaping, but the two successfully escaped and landed outside, where the mountain tour would end. "Aaron, what about the others? We can't leave them down there. We need to find a way to help them out. Akaio said to Aaron in concern for the others. He then replied to her, "We need to trust in their ability to execute this mission, you are injured and can't even move, you would be putting not only yourself at risk, but putting the rest of us in danger if something happens to you. The best you can do for them is to give them all the support you can without being in the middle of all the fire. I'll check in with the boss lady." Akaio found it unsettling to abandon her team and sit on the sidelines. Her eagerness to engage in the fight grew intensely, and her spirit settled unsatisfactorily.

"I refuse to stay back and can't do this. I couldn't forgive myself if something happened to my sister. I would have to live with that for the rest of my life, and I don't want that. I will find a way to help them without being out here like this." Akaio stated to him in confidence and a high spirit. Aaron knew she wouldn't make it alone and stopped her from getting too far to the cave entrance, "NO! You Can't Go Back In. It's too dangerous for you." Aaron stated to her in command. She tried to resist his grip and reached into the entrance and pushed off his grip on her arms. Now back into the deep cave, Sharaletta flew across the room and sliced her way through all the drones and turrets firing; her rage pushed her through her limit. Lewis then noticed a large, weak cliff that dropped into what seemed to be a deep, dark abyss. He then developed the idea to trounce them, noticing everybody fighting separately. "All I need is for them to keep it up; they'll eventually become tired from the fight. They'll meet their fate only within minutes of their continuous battle. Keep fighting on knights, and you'll soon lose your lives for this precious stone because of your stupid king playing around." Lewis murmured under his voice. The knights continued their battle against the droids and other mechanical drones, and bullets flew everywhere into our heroes; however, Akaio applied her protective shield around everyone. The bullets bounced off their shields like rubber; however, the bullets still caused a form of injury to our heroes. Sharaletta sliced through multiple droids and turrets effortlessly, while Toronto fired many explosion thorns, which destroyed many.

Sesakayla and Tesakai wrestled against many of the androids present; while Tesakai destroyed many at once with his electricity attacks, Sesakayla fought them one by one on the ground. The drones were punctured and flung into the others by Sesakayla's strength and martial arts. Lewis then approached closer toward Toronto to snatch the stone when the pressure became too much for him to handle; he watched as Toronto battled through the pain and as Toronto slowly became drained from the intensity of the drones. Toronto's ability drained faster as he continued his thorn attack, and then suddenly, he turned to his back and noticed Lewis approaching from behind. It seemed there was little to no way out but to fight against the mechanical madman. "Come on! Veg My, Lafaard!" Toronto shouted in anger, which was Afrikaans for Fight Me, Coward! Toronto rushed toward Lewis at high speed, with his thorns spiked out from his body, ready to implode at his chosen desire. While Toronto was spiked, his face, body, and arms had spiky thorns sticking out from his skin as an effect of his thorn madness mode.

Lewis however, dodged most of his attacks and went in to squash him with his mechanical spider legs, Toronto quickly evaded the attacks and threw out many thorns from his arms and stuck Lewis in many spots on his body. Toronto then imploded his thorns stuck on Lewis and flung him across the room of ice and crystals. Lewis had stood up after the attack and staggered from the implosion effect of the thorns. "My, my, I must say now, you are no pushover. You're a lot more than I expected. From your bio, I see that you seemed rather dull. I underestimated you, knight. This is only the beginning of your knights' demise, though. You completely overlooked my plan here."

Lewis stated to Toronto confidently. He then pulled out his detonator for a bomb he had hidden deep in the room before the knights had entered; he then warned Toronto about his intentions and plans. However, Toronto rushed forward and fired his thorns to stop his mastermind plan; he hit the remote in Lewis's hand and tackled him down into the snow nearby. Toronto began beating down on Lewis; then suddenly, Lewis threw Toronto off him and made his way to his detonator to recover it. Before Lewis could reach it, Toronto imploded his thorn stuck in the detonator and destroyed the remote. Seeing this before him, Lewis turned around in wrath, unleashing a flurry of attacks from his spider legs. The attacks were nothing in the sight of Toronto and jumped over every attack that Lewis pulled out, his anger began to swallow him deeply and only continued to attack aggressively until he tasted revenge as he liked it. "You need aiming practice. Guess leg day isn't really on your list of training, huh?" Toronto taunts at Lewis intentionally. Lewis' anger only boils bigger and only worsens with every second, "(I will Kill this Guy and burn him into the eternal darkness flame; the boss won't find an end to his joy when I finish this job.)"

Lewis thought to himself as he plotted his next move on Toronto while wrestling against him. Further away from the two, Sharaletta destroyed more of the never-ending drones that persisted in their commands; as she slipped by, she spotted Toronto with the stone while he fought against Lewis. She then took the initiative and summoned her giant warlock hammer, took it behind her back, and thrust it forward toward Lewis to knock him off guard. She then appeared out of thin air, and it seemed to Lewis that she swung her war maiden hammer into Lewis' rib cage, which then fractured him internally. Sharaletta then ordered Toronto to escape with the stone and return to the ship; he rushed out and retreated. Lewis was thrown into a large pile of snow and icicles by the incredible force of Sharaletta's hammer swing. He lay deep into the snow pile and smacked his fist into the floor, leaving massive indents; then, Sharaletta proceeded toward Lewis and summoned her shield and energy sword. "So, why did you come back, Lewis? I thought what you and I had was settled long ago; what else did I do to you and your agency? Still salty over your embarrassing defe-, AUGH!" Before Sharaletta could finish her sentence, Lewis pulled a small desert Eagle and fired into Shara's abdomen, leaving her stunned with blood flowing from her mouth and falling to the floor. "Let's see how you like it being pierced by pain and fear of death, and it doesn't feel too good. Yeah, now that that's done, I'm taking what I wish from your friend and leaving this place." Lewis spoke with words of terror and revenge as he made his way to escape from the mountain. However, before he left the room, he went toward the bombs he had placed secretly before invading them and manually armed the timer for 2 minutes until detonation commenced.

Akaio then sensed the pain her leader was suffering; she then placed her hands on the ice wall carved into the mountain; she then transferred her ability force energy and transformed into her Water Holy Princess form and quickly slithered through the cracks of the mountain and into the cave room, she then rushed over to where Sharaletta lied and began her Holy Healing recovery technique at 100% percent. The damage Shara had taken was too fatal and thus pushed Akaio to use 100% of her power to save her from dying. The clock had begun ticking, and the bomb counted down against our heroes; shortly after, Akaio fully restored her leader to total health from the bullet and got her up on her feet again in complete fighting condition. Sharaletta then warned the others in the room, "Everybody, Listen! We need to Get Otta Here ASAP! We don't have time to explain, MOVE NOW!" Sesakayla and Tesakai then paused from her message over their radios, and they quickly finished the batch of drones surrounding them. The bullets began to penetrate their protective shields, nearly shattering them, leaving them unprotected and in harm's way of bullet penetration. When everyone found the ceiling hole in the center of the room, the knights climbed up with their abilities and agility skills. Akaio then released herself from her Water Holy Princess mode and warned Aaron about the bomb that was set to explode. Then, out of nowhere, Lewis flew out of the cave, but his jetpack was highly damaged from Sharaletta's hammer attack and was unable to function correctly. "Say Goodbye to your miserable lives, Knights. Have fun becoming snow cones, he-he, Ha-Ha."

Lewis proclaimed before Akaio and Aaron. Aaron, however, wouldn't let this end well for Lewis; he dashed forward toward Lewis and attempted to stop him. Lewis powered his damaged jetpack; fortunately for our heroes, he could not fully take off from the mountain cliff. Aaron tackled him and threw him off the skyscraper-like mountain. Akaio witnessed an unexpected moment in her life; her eyes shrunk, and her heart stopped at seeing what Aaron had done. She then made the decision and jumped off the mountain with them; she summoned wings of water and rushed downward to catch Aaron from falling to his death. Then suddenly, a giant explosion emerged from the mountain and shook the land tremendously; this also caused Akaio to lose eye contact with Aaron and Lewis. Her heart panicked, and her mind became anxious, with many thoughts emerging as she searched for Aaron's force energy among the gust of snow. She then exited the gust of snow and found the two falling further down, her speed was too slow to reach the two in time and was running short. Aaron reached the ground level and was bracing for impact on a giant ice pond that was frozen over, "EVIL NEVER GOES UNPUNISHED! JUSTICE IS SERVED!" Aaron shouted, preparing to crash into the giant ice pond. The two then crashed into the pond and fell into the water underneath, which was below freezing temperature. During this time, Aaron felt the unbearable freezing temperature of the water; the ice began to affect his body and destroy it internally. Aaron slowly began losing consciousness as he floated back to the surface; before he reached the surface, he searched below him and couldn't see Lewis anywhere around, "(There's no way, did he... seriously... escape?)."

Aaron thought to himself painfully in defeat. Akaio then landed near the broken ice pond and shouted out for Aaron in fear; then, out in the distance, she looked over and saw him floating in the water. In uncertainty, she rushed over to check his body status and then noticed his body was completely still while his head was in the freezing waters. "AARON! AARON! NO! Please, don't tell me." She screamed in sorrowfulness. She then pulled his body out of the pond, laid him on his back, and noticed he remained unresponsive to her voice.

Furthermore, she nudges him consecutively for a response; he then coughs up the water from his throat and only recovers his consciousness. She looks into his eyes and sees only pain and redness, she then reads his body temperature and notices complete frost bites on most of his body. "Aka- *cough*-io, get out of... here. Do...n't worry about me... I did... what I signed up f-for. I pro...tected you as I promised. You... still... have... the most... prettiest... *cough* eyes." Aaron struggled to get out to her as his body began shutting down. Aaron was only close to death's door, and Akaio attempted to recover him from his body wounds, but then, Aaron stopped her from healing him and told her, "Ak...aio, I... want you to... remember this..., ... I... will... always..., *cough* ...love you." After he spoke this to her, his body then shut down completely. Akaio's heart dropped into total desolation as she witnessed Aaron's death before her very eyes. Aaron was then deceased to bring justice to the evil in the land and protect those he loved dearly. Akaio cried uncontrollably at his death and regretted the time she threw away what could have been a great friend.
