Chapter 25 - Do not make a sound

"Bodies?!" Gwyneth was stunned. She took hold of his arm with both hands, squeezing tightly. "Take your hand off me!"

Sirius looked at her with his bright, sparkling eyes as though she had complimented him. He obeyed her right away, following her stunned gaze to the bodies of the honorable lord and his women.

Her eyes twitched, her kissable lips dropped open in complete disbelief. "What did you do?"

Sirius scoffed at those words. "I did nothing with my own hands."

"No, no, no! I am going to be blamed again." Gwyneth mumbled in panic, fumbling with her hair.

There Lord Evans' lay, in the pool of his own blood. His head dangling awkwardly from his body with his hands severed. While his women were completely disembodied.

"They were assassinated." Swiftly moving to stand before her, Sirius gently clasped her wrists. "By the way, I am Death, remember?"

Gwyneth squinted at him. There was that usual darkness in his eyes. Indeed, he was Death. He was death! HE WAS DEATH!

She laughed. A wild laugh that filled Sirius's eyes with confusion.

"Liar."

And she turned her head away.

Sirius' lips curled. "Fine. I personally killed the Lord. He was not entirely dead, though. The assassin completed the task."

Gwyneth tugged at her hands, but he just tightened his hold. "How did you...?"

"Both living things and nonliving beings perish at every passing second in this horrible world. I am nature. Dark nature. I am omnipresent."

Gwyneth returned his gaze, her midnight blue eyes clashing sharply with those glowing blood red ones. "But you are here with me."

Sirius tilted his head. "I am. And I will always be with you."

Gwyneth scowled deeply. "You will pull me out of this mess. I want nothing to do with nature's faults."

Sirius laughed. "You are not wondering why I killed the Lord?"

Gwyneth balled her hands into fists. Her gaze left him, eager to see the bodies again. But her sight was entirely obscured by his large frame.

"Now that he is deceased, could you tell me his reason?" She asked, utterly unaffected by his passing.

Sirius was clearly amused. He had thought that his Sunshine was beginning to diverge greatly from her previous lives.

But she was the same.

His eyes brightened.

She was still ruthless.

"Fortunately, I memorized every record before the soul reapers arrived..." He tightened his lips.

Gwyneth gazed at him with curiosity and expectation. Her mesmerizing eyes were fixed on him so intently that his mind went blank!

"Soul reapers?" She asked slowly, in total disbelief.

Her life had definitely taken a totally weird turn!

Sirius blinked at her. "Shall we have some tea?"

Gwyneth could not believe her ears! "Tea?" She asked him to make sure she had heard correctly.

Sirius nodded like a delighted child who had just received his favorite toy, releasing her hands.

Gwyneth seized the moment to move away from him. "Why would I want to have tea with you?!"

"Because you want me." Sirius grinned.

Gwyneth gagged. And dashed away to the door. But as soon as she touched the handle, she felt a push from the opposite side of the door.

She gasped in shock, but in time, a large hand covered her mouth.

"Do not make a sound until I say so." Sirius whispered, drawing her closer to him.

She suppressed a gasp, blinking rapidly as her back came into contact with his powerful physique. As they distanced themselves from the door, she took a deep breath, swallowed hard, and struggled to compose herself.

Suddenly, everything went black, then lightened up.

She stared at the door, puzzled. Watching as the guards who had escorted her earlier enter the chamber with horror on their faces.

Fear took hold of her.

They were staring directly at her and Sirius.

"My lord!" All of sudden, they rushed past them, almost as if they did not see them at all.

"They cannot see us. Do not be concerned." Sirius crooked his head to her shoulder.

She shivered as his cold fingers brushed against her neck. She tried to speak, but all that came out of her mouth was a muffled sound as he continued to apply pressure.

"I told you not to make a sound." Sirius reminded. His husky voice sending more shivers down her spine.

He stroked her hair aside, grinning at her stunning neck. It was so inviting and all he wanted to do was press his tongue against it.

"Did you not hear me?" He leant in closer, his hot breath fanning against her neck gracefully.

Gwyneth fought the impulse to scream, so she held her breath.

A frown crossed Sirius's face as he felt her tense up. Though he was glad she was not struggling, he did not like that she was feeling uneasy when he touched her.

"Make a sound." He breathed deeply, pressing his lips against her neck.

Gwyneth shook her head vigorously, her hair splashing on his face.

"Not like that." He took his hand off her mouth and clamped down on her neck at the same time, resting her head against his chest.

As his tongue, aflame with scorching heat, caressed the tender flesh of Gwyneth's throat, her eyes dilated, her breath quickened, and a scarlet blush crept across her cheeks.

"Heavens!" She cried out, her hands covering her mouth.

"Hell!" Grinning, Sirius let his arm fall to her waist while he tightened his grip on her neck.

He gently ran his tongue along her neck, as if he were relishing the flavor of a delicious dinner. He nibbled and kissed. Moving on to her ear, which he gently kissed and licked.

Gwyneth whimpered, pressing her thighs together. She kept swallowing until she couldn't. Her throat felt constricted, but not enough to keep a small moan from escaping.

Sirius's dark, blood-red eyes gleamed. A sensual smile on his lips as he moved them back to her neck. "Beautiful." He murmured.

Gwyneth slid her eyes shut. "Stop," she exclaimed, out of breath.

"Hmm." Sirius hid his face in the crook of her neck.

Gwyneth closed her eyes, slowly healing from the intimacy. She was beginning to feel at ease in their current position.

"I will return you to the Duke's manor." Sirius suddenly said.

"No. Don't!" Gwyneth immediately declined. She was still panting heavily. It was not helping her that they were so close.

"Hmmm." Sirius nuzzled his nose against her neck. He inhaled her gentle scent, which fueled his already intense obsession. "What are your desires, Sunshine?"

Gwyneth breathed heavily in response to that question, her eyes flickering open. "Let's have tea."
