Chapter 124 - Tag Along

"Hmm, that is concerning... But if it were a true opening of my cell, you would feel a wave of immense dread and soul crushing terror." Lucy mused as Senshi worriedly circled around the floor. Lucy did have a growing sense of dread, but she knew her power better than anyone. Someone would need her heart, much like a key, to release the city.

Yet it did feel like she had to do something now, so the demon began searching through her room for something. Soon, she found a chain made of a radiant light that filled the dark room. "With my new darling, I think I know of a way to track down Parfait."

"W-Why d-don't w-we go a-and s-storm the city!?" Senshi asked in a pushy tone, her panic over everything was quickly taking hold of her. "With Auntie Parfait, she could easily help us track down the rest of our little group AND more importantly, find my heart."

Lucy wrapped the chain around Mammy's wrist, making the demon bat let out a beep. "Parfait is 4572 miles north."

"See. Now Mammy, where is the exact location of Parfait?" Lucy asked with a prideful look at her eye given demonic form. "Parfait is currently residing in Hikata Temple in the snowy mountain side of Yesarit."

The demon's face dropped at the word 'temple'. She had bad experiences with religious buildings ever since her aunt dragged her to one when she was young. All Lucy would ever say about that day is to quote; "Never trust a blind nun."

Yet, if Parfait was there, she knew that she'd have to go... But it didn't have to be the real version of her.

After a bit of time, Lucy had gathered everyone below deck to discuss her new target. Since it was going to surely be a harrowing mission, one filled with danger, excitement and temples, she personally volunteered... Mammy to go in her stead.

Kiola hadn't exactly wanted to volunteer, but she had nothing else to do, so she decided to come tag along. Ayre quickly joined in to, wanting to prove his heroics and what better way to be a hero than by saving a goddess?

"I suppose that's s-sorted then..." Lamb sighed, walking away without so much as another word. The horsemen were much more preoccupied with thinking up how they were exactly going to start there store.

With a roar of orders to her crew, Kiola had the airship on a direct course to Hikata.

Though in another, more sunny part of the world, The Twin Streamers were preparing for their hunt. "Hey, you ever wonder why we don't all go after them at once?" Ave asked his sister while packing his bags.

"I dunno actually... But, screw it. It's not like it's hard for us to capture them. With a quick snap, we'll be back to relaxing in no time." Eva smirked, quickly checking her closet for two's matching winter coats.

"Buuuut... What if we lose?"

"Really? You think we'll lose?"

"Nah." Ave laughed and with a quick zip up of his coat, the two left for their target. A temple covered in snow that was rumoured to house a goddess from another world.

"Oh yeah, don't forget the camera." Ave said, watching as his sister rushed back into their room to grab their camera.

"We did it! You can return home... Though, I must say... I shall miss your presence."

[Then come with me, Mollia] [I shall miss you, Mollia...]

"C-Come with you? You... Truly wish to have me by your side? I-I suppose I could join you! T-Thank you for letting me a part of your journey Rat."

As the game's credits finally scrolled, the two halves both stared at the screen with a hollow stare at their own reflection. "W-What does this mean?" Mollia grumbled, putting the controller down. The two had been playing the game over the last few days, having not moved from the beach.

"I think it means we're... Not real." Rat said as she floated over around herself. Neither one wanted to admit that they might just not be real, yet the sudden appearance of Markeeth felt like an omen of dread.

"So did you two figure, solve and find out what you are?" He asked with a tip of the hat. The two were hesitant to ask, but Rat had to be the one to pop the question.

"Are we a video game character?"

"No. That'd be silly, stupid and down right ridiculous..."

"Thank me." The two muttered with a sigh of relief.

"I wasn't finished. You're what we call a wish soul. Ya see, when we transport someone to another world, they get a wish... And we aren't normally meant to create a person...But I was drunk and well... Lily really liked your game and so..."

"Wait, wait, wait. You what? What the hell am I!?" Mollia yelled in fury, able to summon a barely visible blade of light that she held up to his throat. Yet Markeeth was just as calm and collected as usual, taking off his hat before pulling out a form.

"You. Are. A. Wish. Lily's wish to be specific, particular and precise. I know it's hard to understand, but at least you're real."

"But we aren't. Our entire life was a stupid fucking game!" Rat yelled, standing behind Mollia in her wererat form. Zanir wasn't exactly sure what to do at this point. He could leave the two to fester in self loathing, or he could try and help them.

"Why... Are we still alive then? Shouldn't we be dead since Lily left the Iris?" The former paladin asked in a flat tone, slowly lowering her sword as she began calming herself down.

"Yeah, no, nope and incorrect. You're like an... Anomaly... But a paradox is a better way to put it. If I recall correctly, Lily's wish was for you to be real. Not for you to be her guide or something. So, if you think about it, she sorta gave you life?"

"So... Every bit of love I felt was... Real?"

"Are you serious? Are you really rekindling your lil' feelings for her RIGHT NOW?" Rat hissed, whipping her tail against the ground. As things began getting tense, The Witch Doctor saw Ave and Eva leaving for their mission.

"I've got an idea! Why don't you two and me go on a little mission?" He suggested as he turned back to the two halves trying to strangle each other. Despite Rat's rage and Mollia's infatuation over both Lily and her wish, the two felt like it would probably be easier to go out and kill things then stay idle.

With Markeeth giving a very brief summary of his reason for tagging along with the split headed hero, Ave and Eva explained where they were heading. Despite the twins insistence that it was a long journey, Zanir gave a petty laugh and snapped his fingers.

In an instant, the five were teleported just outside an ancient looking temple covered in snow.

"Shall we?"

"Let us just get our cameras ready!"
