Chapter 6 - God's Eye

As the day of Orvuses return drew near and the feast preparations were almost completed, Agatha started to question the intentions behind the documents she was secretly handing out to the elders thus she decided to find out the truth,

And for that, she decided to enlist the help of an information guild

[organization specialized in information gathering in their region]

And as the targets of the espionage were of extremely high authority there was only one option, to enlist God's Eye.

The God's Eye is an intercontinental information guild able to dig up secrets of anyone on the continent for the right price, but it is notoriously hard to contact as they do not have official headquarters or known associates.

When Agatha discreetly asked around she found out that to contact God's Eye a person has to be in the right place at the right time, so when darkness cloaked the sky she sneaked out of the palace to an abandoned building in the slums on the outskirts of the city, and when she slowly entered the crumbling building

There she saw a tall cloaked figure with a strong yet slim frame and a dagger tucked behind his belt, as he walked closer to Agatha he asked with masculine yet a surprisingly soft and sophisticated voice

"Greetings, are you perhaps a client or are you just a passerby my lady?"

To which she responded with a hint of nervosity in her voice "I am here to request the services of the god's eye, are you the one to talk to?"

"Well, there is nobody else around here, is there, You can call me Nememirth, as in a disciple of knowledge, so tell me what do you want to find out, and how much are you willing to pay to know?" He answered with a slight smirk

"Money isn't a problem, and I want to know everything you can find out about the upcoming plans of the Merun's elders, especially regarding the new emperor"

"A high target, I see, we can get you your information but be sure to bring the money as this might prove quite a challenge, my lady."

"That is fine by me, but may I just ask something I find curious?"

"Of course, you may, but the answer might cost you depending on the answer"

"You are an official intercontinental guild, a very famous, some might say even infamous, so why are you hiding behind cloaks, and meeting with clients in the slums in the middle of the night?"

"A curious one indeed, you see our guild has a lot of allies but also as many or more enemies who would burn down a city or a kingdom if they knew we were there, thus we prefer to stay hidden, does that answer your question sufficiently?"

"Yes, that is a good enough answer to satisfy my curiosity"

"Well then if you excuse me, I'll take my leave, but we shall meet again soon Miss Herz, and do not worry, we will contact you"

As he finished speaking he turned around and slowly disappeared into the darkness-cowered streets of the city

His last sentence quite puzzled Agatha, and as she stood there she thought to herself "How is he planning on contacting me, and how did he know my identity when I never told him... strange"

And as her business was finished, Agatha also discreetly left and returned to the palace.
