Jaxon's POV"Are you that fucking stupid you would risk all chances of losing a treaty with me. You told me she was challenged.""She did not look challenged to me Alpha Dylan" I say trying to hold back from strangling him for hurting my mate."She made me angry," he said like it's the most normal thing he has to offer me."Right well, I'll make one thing extremely clear. That scene in that house I saw is going straight to the council. My men have taken photos of her entire body for proof alongside a video I recorded with your hands on her and you kicking her. Unless...""Unless what""I take both of them," I say. Challenging him."Finley west? You want the twins" he asked surprised by my proposal."Yes. But he has 2 options here, he either gives me what I want or I go straight to the council for all the things he's done to Esme and I still take them both. I promised him nothing as I owe him nothing.I pack up my belongings from my room and I mind linking my beta Charlie to tell him that I will be making my way to Esme's house so that nothing can happen during the night before we all leave.I knock on their door and I have to call out to tell Finley that It's me and I'm unharmed. I can tell he's got trust issues, I don't blame him but what I'm more worried about is the damage it's caused Esme. Her wolf, Alana informs me every now and then about her"And no...I did not expect that.I don't remember when but I must have fallen asleep because I'm woken by the tapping of someone on my shoulder and I wake up to see Charlie and Hunter standing there waiting for something."It's too early. What do you want" I say quite snappish.Then it clicks that I'm not in my own space. I remember that I stayed the night at Esme's house to make sure she was fine."We're is Finley and Esme?" I ask while putting my suit jacket back on and standing up."Finley carried her to the car. They're both packed and ready to go" Charlie says while pointing to the rucksacks on the floor. Worn out rucksacks."Please tell me they have more?""No boss. They don't" Hunter says as he picks up both run-down bags off the floor. "We offered to take Esme to the car but she had a panic attack when I went near her and I thought it best if it was her brother to take her to the car instead" he says with a hint of anger in his voice."No that's alright. I'll head to the car now. Can you head back to the pack house and inform Alpha Dylan that we will be on our way now? I'll head to the cars now and talk to them about everything that's going on"They left shortly after and I feel so much relief in having them come with us. Alpha Mark who was there with me in the meeting yesterday approached the house just as I was leaving to wish me luck. He was a nice person to talk to but I always kept my circle small. Trust those closest to you and those around you."Alpha Jaxon," Finley says. He's stood next to a car whose door is not shut and I assume he put Esme inside there. For my liking, he too is a little too skinny and malnourished but I don't think he's bothered about himself right now. I haven't had a good chance to see her properly yet so I ask him if I can see her to explain the situation and he tells me to be gentle with her as she's as calm as he could get her for now.He opens the door and she's curled into a ball next to the window in run-down clothes and shoes without socks, the shoes have holes in them and she's shivering."Hello Esme," I say as gently as I can. With my aura and power and occasional foul mood, I tend to speak quite dominantly which often scares people.She looks at the floor and says a small hello back. I go to sit in the car and it sets her off completely. She's in tears and she's breathing heavily and trying to get away from me."I don't mean you any harm. We're about to leave for my parklands now. I'll be riding in the car in front with my beta Charlie and my Gamma will be in the front seat of this car okay? His name is Hunter and you're completely safe" I remind her. She's still trying to get away from me but I think seeing her brother's presence has calmed her down a bit as he's opened her side of the door and is cradling her to soothe her.15 minutes later we left and were on the road on our way to they're new home.
