After that few moments of extreme awkwardness, the thunder legion finally managed to reach the stage and stand in their places as if ready to give their declaration.
"These days there has been many rumours about Fairy Tail being a weak guild due to letting weaklings join in the guild" Laxus started "But now, it think it's time someone did something for that. That's why we are here to give you OL Man, an ultimatum.
Either give me the guildmaster position or suff- "
Laxus was not able to finish that sentence as one of the statues started shining and suddenly the girl trapped inside was released from the spell. Karna saw that Cana had a locket with a horse talisman attached to it. Karna had prepared that for her with an automatic activation rune in case she ends up in trouble and was unable to activate it in time.
And it seem like the Horse Talisman has an effect on magical curses as well as Cana looked refreshed and without any aftereffects of the petrification. She was confused for a second and looked around to find the thunder legion wide eyed at Cana's freedom from the petrification spell. Even the audience was also surprised.
"What is going on here?" Cana asked confused about what was happening. The last thing she remembered was going to change her clothes after her performance for Ms Fairy Tail.
The thunder Legion members slowly turned their heads to Evergreen who had a highly confused expression. She was also rapidly shaking her head, saying that she had no idea about what was happening.
Cana turned her head and found a lot of statues near her. Realisation came to her that she was petrified and was thus in the current position. She was also able to sense that the horse talisman has been used and will not be available for the next 24 hours.
She immediately jumped back and prepared a swirling rasengan in her hand, she also had an elemental wind card in her other hand. After a lot of experiments with Karna, she had learned how to add elements to her crush magic. Although it does not have the vacuum effect as before when the element is not added, having elemental attacks will be useful for enemies that have certain weakness centred to a particular element. Plus, elementalization also creates less damage thereby making it a better option to use against a comrade. If she uses the crush rasengan on its own, the damage to human body can be irreversible and can even lead to death.
She added the wind element to her rasengan, weakening its destructive power, but making it able to be thrown as well as increase the speed of travel. She knew the thunder legion was planning something bad, but she still considered them as comrades. Plus, with the strength they had, the wind rasengan would not create dangerous wounds and only create wounds that she would be able to handle later.
"Stop whatever you are planning Laxus, and Evergreen, turn them back now. I am saying this for your own good" Cana gave out her warnings to the thunder legion.
Laxus took a serious stance, he knew whatever happened, he can't stop now.
He turned towards Freed who nodded back and stabbed his sword to the floor. Suddenly glyphs that had been written in the guild halls activated creating barriers everywhere, separating the thunder legion from the rest of them.
"IF you want to save the one you care about, participate and win" Laxus declared as he vanished. Makarov and Karna looked at each other. They knew about the glyphs in the guild hall. But unlike on the outside where they were able to modify the glyphs because the tiles on which they were written was smaller, the inner guild glyphs were written in long wooden planks, so editing was hard.
The glyphs on the guild changed into a scoreboard and Laxus announced that the winners of the competition which he is conducting will get the chance to remove one person from petrification making almost everyone form the guild run outside to find out the thunder legion members to defeat them. By now Cana had also finished finding the clothes she had kept in the backstage and was about to follow the others, but Karna held her back.
She turned around a bit confused. "Why?"
"Wait for a few moments, you will thank me for stopping you."
Makarov at the time came to the gate of the guild and found out that he can't pass. He then saw one of the rules present in the barrier.
[Those born before 80 years ago cannot pass through the barrier]
Karna now understood that the sub he had watched before had mistranslated. The sub showed that those older than 80 will not be able to pass but had stopped both Natsu and Gajeel even though there were no visible rules banning them. But since the rules speaks about those born before 80 years, time travellers like Natsu and Gajeel born centuries ago will not be able to pass.
There was also a screen which showed fairy tail wizards moving through the city. Suddenly Macao and Warren got trapped.
"Hahaha, now watch the entertainment Old Man" Laxus shouted out loud through the glyph speakers knowing that the rules which will force them to harm each other will hurt Makarov into giving into his condition. Plus, this will also be able to help him cull out the weaker members of the guild.

Laxus, Freed, Bickslow and Evergreen who were watching through a glyph froze. Even the fairy tail members who were able to see them due to the display glyphs spread out all through the city froze as well.
Even Cana was frozen at the condition that was displayed but what scared her most was the expression of the two people who was with her.
"HUHUHUHUHUUHUHUUUHUU" Makarov and Karna laughed in a manner that creeped out Cana.
