Chapter 131 - Chapter 130 Special Programs.

Some time ago, when Makarov and Karna were editing the glyphs…

"What do you think Laxus is planning, Karna?" Makarov asked as he carefully raised a tile filled with glyphs. "Or, to be more exact, how much of his plan have you predicted so far?"

Karna felt the sweat on his brow slowly trickling down. He was thinking about how long he could continue using his canon knowledge as his own calculations. He had achieved a lot and was able to make reasonably accurate predictions in real-life scenarios. But even then, he sometimes felt a bit of trepidation about relying on his past-life knowledge.

'You know what? Fuck it. I've already changed the canon so much that even Zeref made his appearance. What's holding me back now?'

"My guess is that he'll use some kind of hostage tactic—imprison a few members, then force the others to fight each other to save them. He'll use it as a way to mentally weaken you so that you'll surrender the guild to him."

Makarov closed his eyes and took a few deep breaths, each slower than the last, as if trying to calm himself. Then he opened his eyes and replied.

"I can see that happening. His hatred for me must have grown that much, huh?" Makarov said in a defeated tone.

"I wouldn't call it hatred, actually. He genuinely cares for the guild and its members, but he believes the way we act makes us look weak to others, which might put a lot of us in danger," Karna replied gently, as he had known Laxus since childhood.

"Can't say his way of showing care is any good," Makarov grumbled.

"Well, he had an alcoholic grandfather, an asshole dad, and a brother who was too smart and handsome. That probably created a lot of insecurities," Karna said seriously.

Silence filled the air for a few moments.

Then—

"Hahahahaha!"

They both burst into laughter. Thankfully, they were in an alleyway where no one could witness two grown men laughing like maniacs.

"I can tolerate the 'alcoholic'... and I'll accept the 'asshole'... but 'handsome and smart'?" Makarov wheezed between laughs.

It took them a few minutes to finally calm down.

"All right, jokes aside—what are your plans for dealing with him? Normally, this would warrant expulsion from the guild." Makarov's face darkened. "If not, we need a punishment that's extremely severe."

Karna immediately had an angel and a devil on his shoulders, both whispering ideas. But unlike the usual moral dilemma, where one leaned toward righteousness and the other toward chaos, this time, both were giving the same horrific advice.

"Master… I may have a plan," Karna blurted out, slightly raising Makarov's eyebrows in curiosity.

Karna motioned for him to come closer and whispered something in his ear. Makarov nodded along as he listened, but by the end, his expression was one of complete shock. He slowly turned to Karna and spoke.

"Kid, I'm starting to think you might have ended up as one of the scariest people in the world if Cana and the others weren't keeping you tethered to humanity," Makarov said gravely.

"Are we doing it or not?" Karna knew the emotional damage he was about to inflict on Laxus would be severe, but he couldn't stop now.

"…Alright," Makarov finally relented.

Back to the present…

"Are you sure about this, kid?" Makarov asked again. He had laughed a lot while editing the glyphs, but now that the plan was about to be executed, he felt hesitant—if he wanted his grandson's dignity to remain intact.

"Don't worry. If worse comes to worst, we can erase his memories," Karna said nonchalantly, earning another bewildered look from Makarov.

Karna walked to a nearby table and picked up a large square piece of wood filled with glyphs. He then placed it at the center of the main formation of glyphs in the guild hall. The moment it touched the surface, the glyphs started connecting with the existing ones spread throughout the guild.

"Thankfully, Freed designed the glyphs in the city to function in a loop. It might have increased their efficiency and strength, but it also made them easier to hack into," Karna muttered. "Though this wouldn't have worked if he weren't so distracted."

He glanced at the screen and winced slightly as his traps began stopping guild members who had formed groups while hunting the Thunder Legion.

A few of the edited glyphs included:

Scream out the name of your crush, along with the name of your previous crush. The truth field created by the glyphs will determine whether you're telling the truth or not.One person must give the other a lap dance.Remove every item of clothing except one and do the chicken dance.Loudly confess the time you failed to live up to your potential in bed.Shout out something non-living that turns you on.Kiss your favorite part of your body.

"Oh my god…" Cana muttered in horror as she read a few of the dares the trapped wizards had to face. She turned toward Karna and Makarov, who had the decency to look at least a little ashamed.

Fortunately, the distraction was big enough that the shocked Freed wasn't able to sense Karna taking over the glyphs he had controlled. Within a few minutes, Karna had successfully seized control of them from Freed.

"What is happening?!" Freed shouted, shocked by the sudden loss of connection. He tried to regain control, but it was too late.

"Alright, time to seal the coffin," Karna muttered.

Suddenly, an image of him appeared in the skies over Magnolia.
