"Seed of Shadows huh" Damien puzzled over his blessing. He went ahead and touched the symbols and a rush of information flooded his mind.
"Aaarghh" the pain pushed Damien's perception back into his body. After a few minutes his head cleared and he was able to think again. The information was practically seared into his brain now so he could call upon it without trouble.
"It seems my first blessing has three basic concepts. First let me create a seed." Damien concentrated for a moment and brought his hand forth, a small black oval about the size of his pinky fingernail materialized in his hand. Around it's edges swirled and ethereal black wispy substance. Almost as if shadows were becoming tangible.
"Alright so at this stage I can ingest it, this will cause a slight boost in my strength and a massive boost in my soul archetype for one hour which in turn makes the rest of the seeds I make stronger for this hour. Their will be a twenty minute period after the hour with which I will be slightly weaker however, so I need to use that wisely. It seems I can stack this three times for now. So three hours for an hour of weakness." Damien thought about this for a while, in the meantime he studied the small seed in his hand.
"The next option is I can throw it at any surface and it will meld into this surface. At which point I can choose to erupt the seed which will cause a small explosion of shadow tendrils, seems they'll reach about five meters. After the explosion tangible shadows stay in the vicinity for around 7 seconds." Damien was smirking he seemed pretty happy about his first blessing.
"Now the last option I have, I can imbue the seeds into a weapon this will significantly increase the weapons damage along with allowing the weapon to use my shadow archetype. Depending on the durability of the weapon will let me use more or less seeds on the weapon. Using too many seeds will make the weapon volatile and it will explode just as if I used it normally."
Damien wanted to test all three uses of his blessing, unfortunately he could only test two of them. Since he had no weapon of his own he could only ingest and plant/throw the seeds where he wanted them to cause damage. "Im going to need to ask Uncle Tep for permission to use the rec room upstairs."
Since it had been a year Damien had already learned to walk. His bones were more dense than most children's his age due to having two souls slotted to his own so he managed to avoid becoming bow legged. He was taller than most infants it looked as if he'd grow bigger than Uncle Tepmin. Although he doubted it, even now he was barely halfway up the mans calf.
Hopping up in his crib Damien scaled it with the ease of a professional escape artist. "Uncle Tee-eep" he called out in a sing song voice. He was looking around the room he wanted to make sure the giant didn't sneak up on him again. He still hasn't figured out how the massive man was doing it in the first place. Seeing that he was in the room he rolled his eyes and started to move for the hallway.
"Ho Ho little tike it's good to see you're back with us! In record time no less." Tepmin's deep voice practically caused Damien to jump out of his skin. He turned slowly and as he finished his turn a big hand swooped him up.
"I-I-I just checked the damn room where did you come from?!" Damien stuttered still trying to calm his racing heart.
"I was just sitting in my rocking chair again." Tepmin chuckled as he threw a thumb back to show Damien. Damien just rolled his eyes already knowing he would see that behemoth of a chair rocking back and forth. "Now where will I be bringing the young tike."
"I need to go to the rec room so I can try out my blessing."
"Well you're in luck because in part of the rec room there's a training hall that mitigates and heals damage done in it." Tepmin practically skipped up the stairs as he was excited to see what type of soul blessing Damien had awoken. Especially with how powerful his main soul was.
When they hit the top of the stairs Tepmin gently placed Damien back down laughing inside at how funny it was to see an infant traverse such a large area. Most people didn't even reach their first soul lock till about five years old, with even fewer of them being strong enough to actually pass their trial. That's why they had to rely on integrating another soul to help give them the strength to pass the first trial. Tepmin's litter of mishaps and misfortunes however were all T2 or T3 with no integrations yet.
Yet here Damien was a T2 at a year old with two other souls slotted into his own. The even more unbelievable part was, his sister was also about to open her first soul lock, there making him a dual T2 if she survived and finished her trial. To make him even more of a monster it took him around half a day to complete his trial, which means he did it in around five days. The infant was a fucking monster.
Tepmin brought his attention back to Damien who had just entered the training area of the rec room. "I wonder what his blessing has in store for the future." He thought to himself as he sauntered behind the infant. He hadn't seen a new blessing in awhile and they always fascinated him. He pulled up a chair on the outside of the training area so as not to get caught up in whatever Damien's blessing was just in case it couldn't be told friend from foe.
Damien brought his hand up and a new seed formed in his palm. He immediately threw it into his mouth and swallowed. He felt a surge of power after just a few moments. He made another seed this time it was twice the size of the previous one. He swallowed this one as well and the surge of power increased. He made one last seed this one being twice as large as the second so about as large his thumbnail now. He swallowed this one as well. *Boom* the room trembled a bit as he felt a massive surge in power. There were black tendrils meandering around his body and a tinge of purple could now be seen in his irises. "Woah this feels insane."
A couple of moments after ingesting the third seed he felt pain in his soul. He closed his eyes and his mind receded into his soul prism. He watched as more symbols were etched into his soul.
Title: Shadows Chosen
Effect: Blessing of Shadows 15% increase in all shadow damage.
Blessings:
His first blessing appeared under this and more symbols etched into it.
Seed of Darkness: a small seed made of the darkness soul archetype can be injested, imbued in a weapon or person, or planted in any surface.
Properties: injestion allows a 25% increase in basic overall strength and a 50% increase in archetypal damage each stack doubles it's effects can be stacked 3x.
Drawbacks: lngesting for 1 hour of strength and after 20 minutes of weakness.
Imbuing weapons makes them slightly more brittle based on the durability of weapon.
Planting leaves darkness tendrils during explosion and lasting darkness that deals damage to non dark archetypes. The lasting darkness does not distinguish friend or foe.
Damien looked at all the symbols and wondered why despite the fact he couldn't actually understand what they said he could still read them.
"Shadows Chosen huh, I like the sound of that." He brought his mind back to his own body and created another seed. This one was the size of his palm. "Let's see what you can do."
