Chapter 20 - Glowing Hands

-12

Blood was trickling out of each of her wounds as she stood there shocked. However the zombie did not stop attacking while she stood there.

'I'm going to die. I survived just to die anyway.'

She had gone through so much the past few weeks. Struggled to survive and all that is for nothing?

"No. Until I am dead, I still have a chance to change my mistakes and make my dreams come true."

The zombie made another slash at her hitting her left arm. This sent her stumbling.

Seeing as it's continuing to charge in and make every attack real she figured she would use that. The next time it attacked she made it reflect off the side of her sword and then slashed down at the zombie through the skull. The head splits open and she gets her sword down to the torso before it gets stuck.

Once the zombie's corps fell to the ground, she fell. She begins to put pressure on her chest to try and stop the bleeding while she is laying up against a grave.

She watches as Weiyuan slashes through his zombie and starts looking around for her.

She sees him make eye contact and starts to run over.

"Xiaoyi! Is it bad?"

"Yeah, I am taking damage over time."

"You are going to be okay, I'll get stuff to cover your wounds."

He goes to get the bag and bring it to them.

-2

He takes off the other poop wipe and places it around her arm to stop the bleeding there. They don't have anything long enough or wide enough to cover the entire wound. Then Weiyuan releases they do.

Weiyuan takes out a shirt of his and the shirt rope they use for the alarm system. He takes off the cans and wraps it around her body. Before tying it off he hands her the shirt. She slips the shirt under the rope and reapplies pressure.

He then pulls the rope to tighten the pressure around her body.

"Ahhhh"

She grits her teeth as Weiyuan ties off the rope in the back.

"I'm sorry but we aren't done yet. We need to get out of here ASAP.

He helps her up and lets her lean up against his left side. They both make their way slowly to the two graves that the zombies were encircling.

'Gurit Khan

A son, husband and healer

Died from suicide.'

'Marria khan

A daughter, wife and friend

Died from poison.'

"So he didn't forget about them, he just wanted to be with his wife." Weiyuan said while touching the tombstone.

Xiaoyi checks the other tombstones and realized they all died from sickness. Many of them were still in their graves however 6 women had dug their way out.

"I think those 6 women were jealous of his wife and poisoned her. When she died he killed himself, because he was the healer when a sickness came through town, no one could stop it."

"Do we just wait here or something?" Weiyuan asked.

"I don't know. Do you think we have to kill all the other zombies?" Xiaoyi said, looking around for an exit.

"Let me get the bag so that we won't lose it."

He walked over to the bag and slipped his arms through the loops. He then came back however he noticed something a little strange.

Meanwhile as Weiyuan was walking away Xiaoyi noticed that the tree that was once dead was starting to grow its leaves back.

She grew excited as she watched the dead tree turn from black to a beautiful cherry blossom in full glory. The petals started to flake off and swirl around the grave. When the petals cleared up there was a stone door with an arch appeared in front of the graves.

A small translucent green box appeared above the door.

'Dungeon cleared

Rewards processed after exit.'

"We did it! We never entered a door, so how did we get here?" Xiaoyi asked.

They both walked out of the dungeon through the door and were transported to the same place they were when they got surrounded by the fog.

They looked around for a few seconds seeing that the coast was clear and they sat down. The last hour was more like a nightmare than anything they have ever experienced.

Suddenly the infamous green translucent box appeared in front of her.

'Congratulations on completing the village of the forgotten dungeon.

Calculating rewards…

User is MVP…

Quest completion 100%…

Side quest 0%…

Rewards for Xiaoyi: Lesser healing, 2 gold pieces.'

'What? Lesser healing? So my wounds will be gone?'

As she went to check her wounds two gold coins appeared in her hand. Instinctively she dropped them in shock. She bent over in pain knowing that her wounds are not healed. And picked up the coins.

"I just got 5 gold coins." She said with a grim expression.

They had risked their lives for a few gold coins? Not worth it. On top of that they had no way of knowing when they would be sucked into another.

"I got two gold coins and lesser healing."

"Lesser healing is that a skill?"

"I don't know. I haven't checked yet. System."

The sage green translucent box popped up with a few surprises.

She now had a skill tab at the bottom of her stats. Lesser Healing. She clicked on it and a box opened up.

Lesser Healing: The first step into healing magic and holy magic. Lesser Healing heals 5 HP for every 25 MP poured into it.

"I got my first magic skill and it can heal us! Ugh."

When she yelled the injury on her stomach got pulled.

She put her two points into magic that she got from leveling up to 5 bringing her mp up to 25. Can be used on you or someone you can touch.

She then looked at her health. Not looking too good.

'Level: 5

HP: 21/53

MP: 25/25

Agility: 8

Intelligence: 9

Magic: 5

Mind: 7

Strength: 11

Vitality: 6

Skills: Lesser Healing'

"Weiyuan, how much health are you missing?"

"I am missing 13 HP." He said with puppy dog eyes fluttering in her direction.

"I'm missing more than half, so I'm going to use it on myself. Lesser healing." She said while holding her hand about six inches away from her stomach.

Her hand begins to glow a white light. The light traveled between her hand to her stomach where it fizzled out and went away. Immediately Xiaoyi feels much better than she did before she used it. The pain was lesser which made her realize just how painful it was.

"I think the reason we didn't get much from it is because it was a low leveled dungeon." Weiyuan said.

"Oh yeah. I completely forgot we are only level 5. That also means had that been a stronger dungeon we would have died. We don't even know what the side quest was so it could have been a lot harder."

They both sat there in thought as they released the peril they had just escaped.

They both talked about how useful a 3rd person would be and were now determined to get one before reaching the city.

Eventually they set up their camp and called it a night.
