"Tell me, did you seriously think I would let you escape?" Thane said as he walked towards the mother-daughter pair.
Helen had feared he would follow them, and unfortunately for her, it had become a reality.
With each step he took towards them, Helen's chest heaved faster.
It was hard to breathe when the stench of death was so overwhelming.
She wanted him away from them, as far as possible, but that was impossible.
Helen considered why he was coming after them in the first place. Obviously, it was because he considered them enemies.
But were they really a threat? Did he really have to kill them?
There was really no answer to that, as one couldn't use rationale to understand the thinking of monsters.
