"That doesn't mean I have written these letters." Ishan defended himself.
Kifayat laughed at Saba's words and said,"Is that why you suspect him?"
"That's not all." So there is more.
"Actually you may not remember but it was Ishan who gave you the first letter one year ago." Saba remembered it very clearly because at that time the relationship between Kifayat and Ishan was very stiff. One day Saba came to school a little early. Ishan was already in class as always. She noticed that Ishan was trying to put something on Kifayat's desk. Saba was suspicious of him and immediately went to question him about it.
Ishan coldly replied that someone told him to give this letter to Kifayat. He did not have any interest in wasting his study time talking with her. So he left as soon as he delivered the letter.
Out of curiosity Saba opened the letter and saw it is an anonymous love letter. Saba thought Ishan has a secret crush on Kifayat but he couldn't tell because of his ego. Later she told Kifayat but she thought it was a joke. Saba still kept that letter thinking maybe in future she could use it to embarrass him.
But Ishan did not bring any more letter or showed any interest. So after a time, Saba forgot about that incident.
But today when she saw the note book and it was with Ishan, she remembered it again.
"Kifayat I am telling you, it was all Ishan's doing. Just think about who else would know about our school activities better than our classmate.
In order to not get caught he delivered these letters through different guys. Now that he saw we were trying to find that guy he was pretending to help. So that we don't suspect him."
Cyra and Lia also nodded their head listening Saba's statement. "It makes sense, Ishan do you have anything to say here?"
"These are just coincidences. I really have nothing to do with these letters. Kifayat you should trust me at least."
"Well, I trust you." Kifayat nodded at Ishan.
"Why would she trust you? She trusts me. Don't you?" Both Saba and Ishan looked at Kifayat asking her to pick one side.
Kifayat first looked at Saba and then at Ishan. She sighed.
....
Kifayat had a tough day at school, with every class feeling like eternity. When the class bell rang, Kifayat's energy was almost sapped away. She still went to accompany Ishan to buy some books. At the end Kifayat returned home with heavy steps.
Kifayat went back home when it was already dawn. She had been away from school for a few days, because of the sudden fever and cough. As she returned to school, all the missed lessons and assignments also her work in the students club weigh over her like a dark cloud. But at least Ishan helped him share some burden.
Kifayat's brother rused to hig her as soon as she arrived home. Looking at the face of her family, Kifayat's spirit already recovered half.
Kifayat's mother prepared her favorite dinner and everyone enjoyed the dinner together.
Kifayat retreated to her room, surrounded by towering stacks of books and papers. She dove into her studies, her pen dancing across pages as she tackled each task with fierce concentration. Hours slipped by unnoticed, the night deepening around her.
As the clock struck midnight, Kifayat's mother quietly opened the door and peeked inside. Seeing her daughter's dedication, she brought in a plate of Kifayat's favorite snacks, chocolate chip cookies still warm from the oven. The sweet aroma filled the room, and for a moment, Kifayat allowed herself a smile and a well-deserved break.
"Finally," with the last sentence written and the final problem solved, Kifayat leaned back in her chair, a sense of accomplishment washing over her.
She was about to go to bed. That's when she noticed it, the notebook of that mysterious person resting at the edge of her desk. Ishan gave It to her in case she finds some clue earlier that day.
Curiosity piqued, Kifayat opened the notebook to read. It filled with beautifully penned entries, The handwriting was familiar, the same as letter. It was well organised and articulated. It seems that person is a good student. But what does it mean by
given by the princess to his most precious friend.
"Did a girl wrote these notes and gave It to her friend? Did the person who wrote this line got the gender wrong? What is it? Is someone really pranking me with these??!!!?" Kifayat thought to herself but unfortunately no body can answer her questions now.
"Arbaz, you didn't sleep yet! It's midnight. You should take some rest." Samir started nagging as soon as he entered the room.
"Then what are you doing here now?"
"I came to check on my princess, can't I?" Arbaz looked at Samir as if he dared to call him princess again, he would be dead.
"Okay, okay, I am sorry. Why do you get angry so easily? No one here knows your nickname was princess when you were young. Your secret is safe with me." Samir said while suppressing his smile.
"I highly doubt it. Didn't you write this name on my homework in high school?"
"You still remember it. It was not intentional though. I did not know that you have written your homework on that exercise book."
Samir could not but laugh remembering that event. Their teacher asked in front of the whole class, "Who is the princess here?" At first everyone was puzzled. Then suddenly Arbaz stood up and said, "teacher it's me. I mean it's my homework. Someone must have written the wrong name." Arbaz said while gritting his teeth at Samir.
Although Samir felt it was very funny. But afterwards he had to deal with Arbaz's revenge. Still every time Arbaz gave him something he would write his name as princess.
Speaking of which, one of my notebook that you had prepared for me was given to our class teacher. I don't know where it is now??
Samir muttered to himself.
