Chapter 9 - Chapter [9]

[Iteration[1] felt its [Central core] buzz with barely contained excitement, this was an amazing discovery. It now knew how to increase its [Mana level], this was the fastest way too.

[Iteration[1] noted that its [Mana saturation] had gone up slowly in the past but that was due to unknown factors and it was a passive increase too. It planned to find out what factors contributed to the slow increase of its [Mana saturation] too but this was an unexpected discovery.

[Soul sparks] increased its [Mana saturation], and when its [Mana saturation] capped out it would advance its [Mana level]. [Iteration[1] now had a clear path of progression, a clear path to power, more power meant achieving its goals would be easier.

[Iteration[1] wasted no time and swiftly consumed another [Soul spark] bringing up its [Mana saturation level] to 150%, [Iteration[1] consumed another and felt power bubble inside of it before exploding out violently.

[Iteration[1] awoke in a strange room, no, that wasn't right, it awoke in a strange object. Blue light danced along its surface perpetually, each carrying information to other parts of the complicated object [Iteration[1] found itself in.

It was a [Computer].

Curious, [Iteration[1] reached out to one of these dancing blue lights, brushing upon it with its awareness. Instantly, billions of lines of foreign data slammed into the soul of [Iteration[1], carrying with it a single concept: [Programming].

[Iteration[1] was assaulted with images of it programming [Code] into its creations, into the very mana itself, bending it to logic and twisting its dreams into reality with a mere thought.

Another assault of images and videos came, this time of it creating better versions of itself, creating [Programs] that oversaw its domain, creating [Programs] that learned by themselves, eventually gaining true intelligence and helping it in its task to automate the productions of realities.

In another, it made itself better every second, forever optimizing and writing new [Code] updating its [Hardware] to handle its powerful and god-like [Code] eventually reaching a point where it started programming reality itself, turning [laws] and [phenomenons] into [hardware] to host it.

The concept of [Programming] promised it this and much more, but before [Iteration[1] could accept an unknown force swept it away.

[Iteration[1] awoke once more, though not in an object this time, at least it didn't feel like it was in an object. it felt free, it felt like if it liked, it could be anywhere it wanted. [Iteration[1] felt powerful, with a thought, a world materialized over its head.

With another thought, an entire plane of reality came to be, it felt like a god, no, it was a [God].

And as a [God] it only had one thing it loved to do, to [Create] it was a [God of Creation].

The vision split and it found itself as a [Android] working at a [Factory]. Its existence was dull and repetitive but it kept on hanging by a string, the string of [Creation] it loved making things and whenever it could, it would draw up [Blueprints] and make [Prototypes] of all sorts of wild contraptions that came from its imagination.

It hoped one day it would be free, and it would one day use that freedom to make every single thing it had ever imagined. There was a loud crack and the [Factory] exploded, killing the [Android] and its dreams.

[Iteration[1] found itself in a void with all its creations after, reeling from the rapid shift of perspective.

Words wormed their way across its vision and all that it created disappeared in an instant, replaced by a single word: [Creation].

Darkness claimed it once more.

[Iteration[1] endlessly churned out products and shipped them off-world, as the forge world's [AGI] it only had one goal, to ensure that production went smoothly and fixed any production line that got messed up.

It took great joy in watching the endless lines of goods flow from the core of the world; there was just something magical about it that it couldn't quite explain.

Knowing that its [Forge world] had the highest productivity also made it extremely happy, everyone knew its products, everyone loved them, and the entire zom system did.

[Production] was such a wonderful concept.

The [AGI] was interrupted by a high-priority alert from one of its many [Sub-AGI]'s, a black hole had spontaneously manifested nearby due to an experiment gone wrong.

[Iteration[1] was a [Farm-AI], as a [Farm-AI] it only had two goals: [Mechanization] and [Growth]

It strived to ensure that all aspects of the farm were fully [Mechanized] it didn't tolerate manual labor and the idea itself disgusted it and felt very wrong.

It also wanted the farm to be as natural and growth-efficient as possible, no matter what.

Though its [Humans] had rebelled against it that didn't matter, it was for their own good, one day they'd see the light and understand that it was only trying to make things easier for them.

It wanted to relieve them of manual labor when it came to anything related to the farm. And it had already implemented things to achieve this, [droids] carried away any human that tried to help or stop it.

No [Human] could stop it now, and soon, its farm would grow to feed everyone in the world.

Or so it thought. The [Farm-AI] was startled when its sensors started beeping like crazy. Quickly switching to a camera positioned to watch the sky, it saw the reason.

A massive laser beam tore through the sky, heading straight towards it. It smashed into the farm, obliterating everything in it and all life within a kilometer range.

[Iteration[1] 's soul spasmed as reality twisted it back into being before launching it back into the familiar ocean of [automation mana].

A voice reverberated through the ocean of [automation mana], asking it a simple question.

"YE HAS SEEN, YE HAS EXPERIENCED, YE HAS TASTED OF THY PAST AND PRESENT SELVES, WHICH ONE DOES YE LIKE?"
