"What do you mean, our mother?" Katherine questioned, looking at Victor with disbelief.
"The woman having the baby is your grandmother, Victoria Riverside," Victor explained, smiling as he pointed towards Victoria. "This is when we brought Tierney Glass into the world." The memory transitioned to a different scene, revealing Victoria giving birth to another child.
"This is when we brought Thomas Riverside into the world," Victor continued, a smile on his face. "Tierney's older brother."
"So, you're saying you were there when they were born," Carlyle remarked, glancing between Victor and Victoria holding Thomas.
"Yes, I was," Victor confirmed with a smile. "Because I'm their father."
"What? They never told us," Kathrine exclaimed, shock evident in her tone. "You're lying."
"Why would I lie about it?" Victor responded with anger in his voice. "I loved them."
"Then why did you kill your wife?" Carlyle questioned, his anger matching his sister's. "If you loved them, why did you do that?"
"Because she went crazy," Victor explained as the memory shifted again, showing Victoria screaming at him.
"Why did you?" screamed Victoria. "You're never here."
"I'm sorry," younger Victor pleaded. "Sorry, I just had to find it."
"No, you don't. You could have just forgotten about it and stayed with us," cried Victoria, tears streaming down her eyes. "I love you, but if you keep doing this, I will kill all your dreams."
"Victoria, please don't do this," younger Victor begged. "I will stop, I promise." The memory changed once more, revealing Victoria in a state of uncontrollable rage.
"This is when she lost control," Victor explained with sadness in his tone. "The power inside her took over her mind."
"What power made her look like that?" Kathrine asked, shock still evident in her tone. As she observed Victoria thrashing and breaking everything, she noticed that her hair had turned silver, her green eyes now white with red around them.
"Soul Taker Magic," Victor revealed, looking at both Kathrine and Carlyle. "If you use the power too much and let your emotions take over, it will make you like that."
"How did she get that power?" Carlyle inquired, looking at his sister and then at Victor.
"She was born with it," Victor replied. "It runs in her side of the family."
"So why did you kill her?" Carlyle pressed on, walking closer to his sister to calm her down.
"Because when the Soul Taker takes control, there is nothing that can save you," Victor said, looking at Victoria again. "Only death can save you from Soul Taker Madness."
"So why does this have anything to do with The Dark War?" Kathrine asked, her brother placing a comforting hand on her shoulder.
"Because when she did," Victor explained with sadness, "people started to gossip, and a rebellion rose, killing all those involved in Victoria's death."
"Then why is it that you are the villain in all the stories about The Dark War?" Kathrine inquired as she placed her hand on her brother.
"Because I was the one who killed Victoria," Victor admitted as the memory changed again, showing him killing Victoria. Carlyle and Kathrine witnessed younger Victor picking up his sword and decapitating Victoria's head. As her body fell to the ground in her blood, Victor knelt down, crying and screaming at himself.
"I killed her so she did not need to suffer," Victor confessed, tears streaming down his cheek. "I loved her, but I didn't care what it would take to bring her back."
"So that's why you started The Dark War," Kathrine observed as she looked at Victor.
"Yes, it is," Victor affirmed, wiping away his tears. "And I will succeed in bringing her back."
"How can you?" Carlyle questioned, a look of confusion on his face.
"I will raise the demon queen, Alyssa Satanrosé," Victor declared with a smile. "And bring back my beloved wife."
"That is crazy!" Kathrine yelled as she walked closer to Victor. "How do you even know if she will do it or if it will even work?"
"I know it will," Victor insisted as the memory changed. "I will show you." The memory stopped, revealing younger Victor in a cave. Katherine and Carlyle could see that the cave was lit up with moonstones, displaying artwork all around the walls. In the middle of the cave stood a stand holding a glass crystal with red in the middle.
"This is the blood of the demon queen," Victor pointed at the glass crystal. "And the art on the walls tells the story of Alyssa Satanrosé, the demon queen who brings the dead back to life."
"How do you know that's what it means?" Carlyle questioned, looking at Victor with confusion. "For all you know, that's just how people thought she could do it."
"Carlyle is right," Kathrine added as she gazed at her brother. "It could be anything."
"I don't care," Victor retorted with anger in his tone. "I will rise Alyssa Satanrosé and make her bring back Victoria."
"We can't let that happen, Victor," Carlyle asserted as he walked up to Victor. "Enough people have died for this."
"I don't care," Victor replied as he looked at Carlyle. "I don't care what it costs to bring her back."
"If that is what you have in your mind, then that is why," Carlyle said with a smile before he could finish. Katherine walked up to Victor and stabbed him in the side. As the knife entered Victor's side, the memory they were in vanished, and they were back in the glass room.
As Katherine pulled the knife out of his side, Victor backed up to the glass wall. "This is why we need to stop you," Katherine asserted, finishing her brother's words.
"I will succeed in bringing her back, mark my words, children," Victor gasped, putting his hand around his wound.
"We will not let you," Katherine declared with a smile. When Victor hit the glass wall, a figure emerged out of nowhere.
"Victor, are you okay?" a boy in a black cloak, covering his face with his hood, asked.
"I'm okay," Victor replied with a faint smile.
"I will kill them for you, Victor," the boy declared as he started to walk towards Carlyle and Katherine.
"It's fine, William," Victor said, looking at the boy. "Just get me out of here."
"Okay, will do," William responded as he walked over to Victor and put his arm around him. "Sorry, we've got to teleport out of here, but see you guys later." When William finished talking, he walked forward and disappeared.
"What the hell," Carlyle said. "What do we do now that Victor is gone?"
"We need to find the others and stop Victor," Katherine said with a smile.
