Saku makes sure his smile is completely gone before he and Friend leave the Generals office. As he closes the door he turns to see Shelly, Katsu, and Daisuki are already equipped waiting for him at the building's doors. Their loadouts on their hips, backpacks off at their feet, and their hoods are up.
Katsu has only one HeatHolster and SunSword fitted on his right leg.Shelly and Daisuki have HeatHolsters and SunSwords on both hips. Shelly also has a cold steel katana strapped between her bag and back, easily accessible if needed.
Daisuki, his sweatshirt with the red C on his chest and the 3 patches on his right sleeve has a cooler like backpack.
Daisuki(jokingly): "Did you two kiss and make-up or what?"
Saku: "Shaddup. Just gimmie a minute to get strapped."
Saku puts his set of SunSwords on both his hips and Friend prances over to Shelly while his master gets ready.
Shelly(squats down): "Make sure you stay with one of us at all times ok Bubby? Katsu will always be in a safe spot so look for him."
Daisuki(confused): "I don't think he can understand you sweetheart he's j-"
Friend: "Ruff rUFF"
Friend goes to Katsu, sits down at his feet and looks up at the young man. Katsu slowly and carefully stretches his hand out to pet the dog. He pulls back right before he touches the dogs ear but follows through and pets Friends ear softly. Friend turns his head quickly to kiss Katsu's hand with a lick but it scares Katsu and he pulls back.
Shelly(realization): "Katsu, now that I think about it, I've never actually seen you touch a dog nevermind pet one."
Katsu(blushing in embarrassment): "When we jumped through Daisuki's portal the first time we accidentally touched a little."
Saku: "Oh, so now you're letting HIM pet you too?(looks at Shelly)...and what the hell did you call him?"
Shelly(embarrassed): "I called him Bubby... I just thought it was a cute nickname."
Daisuki's watch beeps and he looks to check what the alert is. His three students wait for him to read through his message.
Daisuki: "Well we have 25 minutes until our release time. Make sure you guys stretch out and get a light jog. If you end up taking them off, make sure your holsters won't fall off while you're running from Icemen."
Katsu gets an excited look and starts going through his bag.
Shelly: "Whatchu got Katsu?"
Katsu pulls out a fully pumped American football. Saku does a double take and rolls his eyes.
Saku: "At this point I know you have some corny justifiable reason for bringing a football with you so let's hear it."
Katsu gets stars in his eyes and a big wide grin.
Katsu: "Well I was thinking about how I could help someone like you if we see them out there in 'Hell'."
Saku: "Someone like me?"
Katsu: "Like if someone is cautious of us. To anyone not familiar with the Sister Mountain tech, we're just 4 people with scary weaponry.So if that happens, I'll throw them this and they'll know we're friendly. But I figured, while we have time let's throw it around like old times Saku."
Shelly once again blushes while admiring Katsu's innocent and admirable intentions. Immediately she realizes the perfect thing to say to make Katsu happy.
Shelly(blushing): "C-Can I play with you guys?"
Saku remembers Katsu saying how he would've liked to have all three of them as friends in the past to throw the ball around together. He can't help but smile.
Katsu gets more star eyed than he has ever been and grabs Shelly's wrist.Katsu: "Come on Shelly I'll show you how to hold the laces!"
Daisuki(sitting against the wall): "I'll take a mini nap to get rid of the last of this hangover, just please make sure you guys don't fight."
The 3 young adults and Friend leave the building with their equipment off and they walk out to the lawn of the HFF Military Officers building. There are other buildings around them.
They are not 'outside', instead they are inside a hollowed out multi-layer "Districts" within mountains with no natural light, only an imitation 'Sun' hanging above each District of each Mountain. The light dims and brightens depending on the time.
Saku: "Friend stay!(the dog lays down next to the door they came out of) OK QB1, lets see if you got any rust on that arm."
Katsu is showing Shelly how to grip the football laces properly while Saku keeps walking further away.
Shelly: "Where are you going Saku!?"
Saku stops at about 100yards(91m) away from the two and turns to face them.
Katsu: "Ok Shelly see how I'm holding it? Then you bring it past your ear like this and you step into the throw."
Katsu does step by step what he told Shelly. The wind from the force of Katsu's arm with the football is heard and the ball leaves his hand in a perfect spiral and soars high up with incredible velocity.
Saku is standing exactly where Katsu's throw is landing and with only one hand, over his head,
Saku catches the ball perfectly.
A throw as far as a football field and a catch that would leave blisters on the palms of anyone else.
Shelly: "Wow. You two are incredible. Could you throw it that far when you guys were younger? Is this all you two did when you hung out as kids?"
Katsu: "THAT WAS SOO COOL SAKU!!!(turns to Shelly) Not that far but somehow Saku just knows where to be before I even throw it. Sometimes I'd purposely mess up but he reacts and can adjust so well."
Saku steps up closer to reach with his throw.
Shelly: "What?! Katsu can actually throw further than you!?"
Saku(annoyed): "Yea, maybe he can, but watch this. Ready Katsu?"
Katsu: "Uh- why don't you just throw it to-"
Saku(throws football): "Nope show her."
The ball sails a good 30 yards toward Katsu. Katsu holds his arms out and the ball hits him square in the chest from his poorly timed motion. The ball drops to the ground and bounces wildly.
Shelly giggles.
Shelly: "It bounces funny."
Saku: "See. Katsu can be a 5 Star Quarterback but he may as well be armless when it comes to catching the ball."
Katsu is embarrassed and visibly upset.
Katsu: "No matter how much I've practiced, no matter how much Saku tried to teach me, my body just rejects catching it. When we would throw to each other at first, the other kids wouldn't try to play with us. Half the time the time, Saku had to fight them off because they tried taking his football after saying things like 'you two play everyday but still suck, so just give it to us.'"
Saku remembers the days that Katsu is referring to.
Saku: "There were some close fights a few of those days. They'd wait until I was running routes and was already tired. Hearing them talk down to us, just for throwing a ball and enjoying something together. I'll never let shitty people get satisfaction from doing shitty things to others just minding their own business and living life peacefully."
