Inside the classroom, Ralph and the students had already woken up.
"Are you guys ready?" Ralph sternly asked as he looked at the faces of the students.
Everyone was feeling nervous, but they all nodded their heads. They only had one chance to escape and if they failed, they knew that it would end in tragedy. No one wants to die so they mentally prepared themselves for what was to come.
Ralph took a deep breath before he carefully opened the door. He then stretched his neck to take a look at the situation in the corridor. To his relief, he found no creatures.
"Let's go." He nodded to the students before leading them out of the classroom.
While walking through the corridor, they tried to make as little noise as possible.
"That thing is still outside the school building so the only way for us to leave without being detected is by using the window at the end of the corridor which leads us to the back of the building," Kent said as he pointed at the broken window ahead of them.
Everyone trusted his words. Kent was the smartest in the group and his decisions had already proven to be crucial in their survival. Even Phillip who was usually at loggerheads with him didn't voice out any disagreement.
When they arrived in front of the broken window, Ralph looked down from the window and observed the situation below. "There's nothing down there."
"We need to go down as soon as possible."
"Who should go first?"
"The first one to go down should be you," Kent suggested as he pointed at Phillip.
"Huh? Why me?" Phillip's eyebrows jumped up in surprise.
Kent pushed his glasses and replied. "I don't want to admit it, but you are the next powerful person after Sir Ralph in terms of physical strength. We need someone strong down there in case things go south."
Phillip didn't say anything. He just snorted as he crossed his arms.
"Alright. Phillip, you go first." Ralph said as he tied the rope they had prepared beforehand. After testing its firmness, he threw the other end of the rope down the window.
"Mn," Phillip responded. He then climbed up the window and grabbed the rope as he jumped down.
He nervously looked around and after seeing that it was safe, he gave a signal to the group.
"Ericka and Aurora will go next," Kent said while looking at the two ladies.
Aurora anxiously held Celine's hand when she heard her name being called.
"You will be fine. Phillip is there to protect you and I will follow you guys soon." Celine gently kneaded Aurora's hand to calm her nerves.
Aurora nodded her head.
Ericka went to grab the rope as she climbed down. The girl was also nervous, but unlike Aurora was very transparent with her emotions, she was more reserved.
"Aurora." Ralph beckoned to Aurora.
"Be careful," Celine whispered to her friend.
Aurora took a deep breath as she nodded to them.
"Be careful with the broken shards of glass," Ralph said as he helped her climb up the window.
Aurora looked down and saw Ericka looking at her encouragingly. Meanwhile, Phillip immediately looked away, afraid that he would be branded as a pervert.
Students in Lochwall College were strictly required to wear their school uniforms. The men had to wear navy blue suits and ivory-colored pants. While the girls wore long-sleeved navy blue blouses and white skirts.
The group didn't have time to change their clothes so they were still wearing their uniform.
Aurora had a hard time climbing down, but she still managed to hang on to the rope until she reached the ground.
"Good job." Ericka immediately hugged her.
"Mn." Aurora forced herself not to cry.
Meanwhile, the next person to go down was Kent, followed by Celine and James.
When it was Ralph's turn to go down, the ground suddenly trembled.
"Oh sh*t! It's here!" Phillip cursed as he stared at the large worm-like creature that was looking at them from afar.
"You guys leave quickly! I'll hold it off!" James shouted to the group. He then raised his hand, slowly congealing a ball of flame on top of his palm.
Everyone hesitated for a moment.
"Why are you guys still here?! Go!" James yelled with a furious look.
Phillip gritted his teeth. "Celine, take the rest with you and go. We'll try to buy as much time as possible."
Celine nodded her head. "You guys must return alive." She muttered before she left with the rest.
A few seconds later, Ralph had already climbed down the building. He stood in front of James and Phillip as he stared at the large creature. "Get ready, boys!" He shouted with a grave look.
At this moment, the large creature swiftly charged at them and it produced a loud screeching sound.
James made a throwing motion and released the ball of flame in his hand, sending it flying towards the charging large creature.
The flame accurately landed on the body of the creature and exploded with a 'bang'!
The creature stopped for a moment and it shook its head, seemingly affected by the attack. A few seconds later, it glared at James and issued a furious scream.
Ralph immediately activated his Gift.

His muscles suddenly bulged and he also gained a few inches of height. His shirt was torn apart, while his pants barely held up.
Ralph roared as he rushed forward. After gaining momentum, he arched his body and raised his fist before hammering it towards the large creature.
Bang!
The beast recoiled under his powerful punch and a fist-sized indentation appeared on its thick shell.
"I'm still here!" Phillip lunged at the creature and struck its head hard with a spinning kick.
