Chapter 17 - Beheader

BACK IN THE ONIK HOUSE SOMETIME LATER...

Badu was now within arm's reach of Jason's body. All he needed to do was raise the blade and bring it down on his victim. As he lifted the weapon, Ella was screaming his name, "Badu, Badu, please stop, he is not an enemy!"

WAIT A SECOND???.....

How did everything escalate into this and what did Badu possibly do to paralyze the Almighty Jason?!!!

The Vams who were holding onto Ella were shocked at her words. Everyone knew that from ancient times, Vams and wolves were enemies.

Or was she in some kind of trance that made her forget this? She hadn't witnessed the strange transformation of this Wolf in broad daylight as they tried to torture him in numerous ways until they failed miserably and realized that Badu only captured this Beast because he let him.

Why did he entertain their torture, only to freak out when a concentrated bucket of cyanide was forced down his throat???

Jason even managed to break free of their chains and kicked them around for a while right before the poison began to melt his insides.

They still couldn't fathom how it was possible for a Wolf to be this strong. He was a dangerous enemy, far too dangerous to live.

Jason put himself in his own dilemma.

The truth of the moment was that,

he let him self get tortured even after discovering that the Vams left the house days ago.

They left before his pack had arrived and only returned to check on Badu, who they saw holding a bored Wolf captive.

He thought they would know something about Ella's whereabouts but they were as ignorant as him.Jason who thought the Vams could do no harm was now at their mercy and the irony of it was that the Ella he was looking reappeared just in time to see him beheaded.

Ella struggled to break free from their grip. She had to save Jason.

Ricardo was right after all, as she saw the Jason she once thought to be unstoppable on the ground, he seemed too weak, and it looked like not even his big bad wolf form could save him.

The Vams loosened their hold for a moment, and that was all Ella needed. She broke free and moved with super speed, sliding on her knees until she reached Jason's body.

She was just in time as the blade came down, but she closed her eyes, hoping that Badu would stop himself before he killed his own sister.

MEANWHILE...

Ricardo was walking as slowly as a snail to the house. He knew how dire the situation was, but he was no ordinary person. He believed he could fix whatever problem he went to meet.

In addition, he believed in Jason; that guy was no pushover or weakling. But the events he went to witness shocked him. Badu was about to slice the heads of both Ella and Jason simultaneously. He snapped his fingers, and it seemed like time froze. Everyone except Ella and Jason stood still. Now, he had the leisure to say, "What the heck was going on here!"

Ella didn't feel the blade on her neck, so she reckoned that Badu had stopped. All this time, Ella's heart was beating uncontrollably. She actually braced herself for death. She didn't mind dying; she would definitely answer death's call for Jason. He had saved her too many times for her not to feel indebted to him.

She opened her eyes and saw everyone looking like statues. She looked up and saw Badu's blade above her head. It was too close, and she knew it. She spotted Ricardo and instantly knew this was his doing. "What did you do to them?" she asked, a little worried.

"I just froze their minds and bodies," he answered. "Don't worry, I can snap them out of it, but when I do, I will erase their memories of this," he added. Ella looked at him with a questioning expression, and he had to say, "I will make them go looking for your dad, the vamsages took him to your nation! You will have to stay here with me to help our wolf friend and his coma drama. Once he wakes up, we will go looking for Daddy Zonik," he said, looking at Jason, who seemed half-dead.

Seeing how Ella looked at Jason, he spoke, "He's not dying, but his body has gone into hibernation to save him. The acid burnt his insides, but come on, we all know even though he's not a cat, he has a thousand lives to spare."

Ella shot Ricardo an exasperated look after his so-called joke. From her expression, it was clear she was not at all amused. Ricardo's attempt at humor was totally off the mark and made no sense, leaving Ella feeling more irritated than she could explain.

Ricardo, sensing Ella's annoyance, nervously flashed a smile and cracked yet another joke, "Can't believe a bat would care so much for a wolf." He braced himself for another glare from Ella, but to his surprise, she seemed unfazed. His next shock came when he saw Ella attempting to carry Jason, who looked alarmingly lifeless, with his eyes shut and body as cold as ice.

Fed up with Ricardo's absurd jokes and increasingly worried about Jason, Ella decided to take action. Despite her own fatigue, she summoned all her strength as a Vam and attempted to lift Jason. However, his icy coldness and weight made her struggle to maintain her balance.

Just as she took a few steps, she slipped and braced for the impact of Jason's frozen body. To her bewilderment, his body suddenly began to float in mid-air.

Before she could comprehend what was happening, Badu and the other vampires in the room snapped into action, completely ignoring her presence as they marched out of the house. It was becoming clear to Ella that Ricardo was somehow manipulating reality itself. He seemed to be enjoying the spectacle, but he also had to intervene when Ella was on the brink of dropping Jason, who was already in a critical state.

In a surprising turn, Ricardo instructed Badu and the others to embark on a mission to "find the Vamsage Daddy."

"Mission find the Vamsage Daddy," Ricardo commanded.

As Ella processed the bizarre events, Ricardo made an unexpected offer to her, suggesting that he could teach her how to harness similar abilities.

"I can show you how to do this and more if you want me to," Ricardo said, looking at Ella with a serious expression. "Just like me, all you need is a push to activate yours."

This revelation led Ella to question whether such a thing as a "Vamwitch" truly existed and what it could mean for her own identity and abilities.

As the events unfolded, Ella found herself in a state of perplexity. The surreal sight of Jason's body defying gravity had left her questioning the very fabric of reality. Moreover, Ricardo's offer to teach her similar abilities had sparked a whirlwind of conflicting emotions within her.

Ella couldn't shake off the lingering doubt that Ricardo was merely toying with her, weaving an intricate web of deception for his own amusement. Yet, as she glanced at Ricardo's unwavering expression, she couldn't dismiss the possibility that he was serious. His eyes held an intensity that didn't seem characteristic of his usual jesting demeanor.

She grappled with the notion that Ricardo might be leading her into uncharted territory, where the boundaries between what was real and what was not blurred into an enigmatic tapestry of uncertainty.

The prospect of unlocking extraordinary capabilities clashed with her instinctive wariness, leaving her torn between skepticism and a flicker of curiosity.

Caught in this internal tug-of-war, Ella struggled to decipher Ricardo's true intentions. Was he offering her a gateway to a realm of supernatural abilities, or was this all an elaborate ruse intended to bewilder her further?
