Jerome faithfully accompanied Guin to eat breakfast. When Guin told him to dine with her, Jerome realized he had no interest in eating human food. He previously could and was willing to eat human food, but now he no longer could do it. He felt like a human eating ants or mosquitoes whenever he saw human food. It seemed only blood could satisfy him.
"Jerome, have you ever had any trauma?"
Jerome shook his head. "No. I never had one." Or perhaps he once had one, but he couldn't remember it since most of his childhood memories were still sealed.
"Then, aren't you afraid of anything?"
"Yeah. For example, I was afraid you would leave me," he said with a teasing smile.
"I'm serious. Aren't you afraid of someone?"
Jerome didn't answer for a while. "Once, but not anymore."
"How do you handle it?"
"I became stronger."
"That means you can beat that person?" Guin became even more confused, seeing Jerome shaking his head once again.
