The sound of a giant bird screeching filled the room, followed by Fye. He panicked and approached his younger cousin. His panic disappeared and was replaced by extraordinary relief when he saw Jerome embracing Guin in protectiveness. "What happened?" He observed surround only to find the door had been broken to pieces.
"Nightmare. I think." Jerome realized that Guin had fallen asleep again and laid her down again gently.
Jerome was planning to see his grandfather some time ago when he felt something was wrong with Guin's body. He could feel that Guin was suffering—he even felt in pain as if he himself had been injured. Thinking Guin was suffering, he postponed his departure to be with his mate. Strangely, he couldn't get close to the girl. Even to enter her room, he couldn't. It was as if a barrier prevented him. He wondered who put the barrier inside the safe house.
